What our Mount Vernon customers say about Sherpa:
“I enjoyed the flex quote provided by Sherpa. The original quote I received was very accurate and it was exactly what happened after the completion of the transport. The final cost in relation to the quality of service that I got was perfect. I got exactly what I paid for and a little bit more because any time that I had a question, I talked to the same person, Tim. That was very helpful because he knew me, exactly what I had planned with the company, and where I was going, and he was familiar with my story, and I didn’t have to keep calling and talking to a different person, and explaining things to him over and over again.”
“Fantastic service. Got my car shipped without a scratch from Washington state to New Jersey in under a week. No unpredictable fees, everyone was very courteous, no high pressure sales. Price is a little higher but the peace of mind was worth it. Only complaints were that the contractor picking up the car didn’t give me that much notice, I had to call them directly to find out they were picking the car up the next day – but they did respond immediately, which is more than I’ve heard you can say about other companies.”
“After reading so many horrible reviews about so many different companies out there. I am so happy to say Sherpa Auto Transport made shipping my car so effortless. When you go online to get your first quote, I was bombarded with so many different companies trying to lowball you and trying to get your business. There are so many shady companies out there, please please please read the reviews before book. I sought out Sherpa Transport after reading their reviews on BBB, and let me tell you they did not disappoint. My car was shipped from ATL to Washington state.”

Factors that affect Mount Vernon Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Mount Vernon, WA significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger and heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars. This is especially important to consider when transporting to or from Mount Vernon, as the city’s proximity to outdoor recreation areas might mean more larger vehicles.
- Transport Type: Open transport is the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Mount Vernon. Enclosed transport, while offering more protection, is generally 50% more expensive and takes longer.
- Season and Demand: Car shipping prices in Mount Vernon can fluctuate based on the time of year. Summer months and January typically see higher demand and prices. The city’s mild summers and cool winters can affect seasonal demand patterns.
- Route Accessibility: Mount Vernon’s location near I-5 makes it relatively accessible for auto transport. However, if you’re shipping to or from more remote areas outside the city, it may increase costs.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship than inoperable ones. If your car doesn’t start or roll, it will require special equipment, increasing the cost.
- Flexibility: Being flexible with your pickup and delivery dates can often lead to lower car shipping costs to or from Mount Vernon. Sherpa Auto Transport offers a cost-effective five-day pickup window option.
Understanding these factors can help you better estimate and potentially reduce your car shipping costs. For a more detailed breakdown of pricing factors, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Mount Vernon car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major interstates like I-5, which runs through Mount Vernon. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues.
- Be flexible: Offering flexibility in pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates. Consider locations slightly outside Mount Vernon, such as nearby Burlington or Anacortes, for potential savings.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak shipping seasons in Mount Vernon, such as summer months when tourism is high. Off-peak seasons may offer more competitive rates for car transport services.

Reviews from our Washington Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Washington customers:
“We had never shipped a vehicle prior to this occasion and weren’t really sure how to do it. We researched the various companies and found that Sherpa Auto was considered one of the top 5 auto brokers/shippers in the country. As a broker, they require the shippers to carry $1M in insurance, which means they are invested in the process. Their shipping cost was mid-range of the other top auto shippers/brokers and they very clearly explained the shipping/bidding process. The shipper that accepted the contract was Comic Transportation based in Federal Way, Washington. The driver was courteous and professional, and he thoroughly explained the process of shipping the vehicle. Throughout the process, the driver maintained contact with us and gave us plenty of advance notice as to when the car would be picked up and dropped off. While he was a couple of hours late picking up the vehicle from the pickup point, it was understandable due to unforeseen circumstances. The vehicle was delivered to the drop-off destination a day early–no scratches or dents and just needed a good washing, for which they did provide a credit to have the car washed. We would definitely use Sherpa Auto again for any future shipping needs because they offer peace of mind that the process will go smoothly without any glitches.”
“It was an easy process from start to end, from the time I picked up the phone and I called the customer service person. She was super helpful and gave me the ins and the outs about car transporting because I had no idea what that looked like. So, she gave me how it would go, and it went according to plan. Sherpa Auto Transport gave me a six-day window to pick the car up, and the dealership where I bought the car in Philadelphia said the car was picked up on a Wednesday afternoon. I got pictures of the car being loaded. It was an 80-foot enclosed transporter. It went seamless from what I heard from the dealership. I got a call from the driver who had the car on his transporter when he got here on early Monday morning when I went to pick up the car. I live in a residential area of Seattle and I said, “I will come to you.” I went over to Bellevue, Washington to pick it up, which is 20 minutes away. He had six or seven cars already out. And it was easier. So, it saved him the heartache of driving around this residential area. He was a super nice guy. The window they gave me was a week, plus to pick the car up, and it would take a week to get here, even 10 days possibly. They exceeded that by a long shot.”
“Reviewed and contacted several auto transport co, was not happy with any of the reviews or conversation I had with the reps. (First time having cars shipped). The quotes changed constantly, and reps were eager to get credit card info. Reach out to Sherpa and admit was a little skeptic because they answer all my questions, explain the process thoroughly and gave a binding quote which the other transport co. did not do. Sherpa rep was very patience and honest when answering questions and did not rush me to make a decision. The next day I decide to go with Sherpa. The carrier reached out the same day and pick up vehicle less than 24 hrs after I contacted Sherpa. Carrier gave delivery date of 2-4 days from Oklahoma to the Washington DC area. Received vehicles in 3 days (unbelievable because the weather was so severe on the East Coast). I am truly satisfied with Sherpa and the carrier and will used them again. Lastly, Sherpa offer multi discount through rebate and free car wash up to $20. I have submitted the car was receipt and BOL.”
“The people from Sherpa acted very professionally, and explained everything in detail that I had questions about, the whole process of how the car is picked up and how it’s transported. They gave me a quote, they followed up with an email of the quote, and there was no pressure at all. The vehicle went from Pennsylvania to California and they gave me a window of time. They said it was either gonna be picked up on a Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Due to heavy traffic in Washington, D. C., they couldn’t make it on Wednesday night, but they made it first thing on Thursday morning. The driver got out and checked the car over. We signed the paperwork with damages, dents or scrapes. Then he loaded the car on the truck and off he went. It was delivered earlier than expected, which wasn’t a problem at all. We thought it was going to be delivered sometime in the middle of the next week, but they got there in like three days. So, the drop-off was very easy and quick. There was no problems with the car when it arrived there.”
“When Sherpa put the bid out, they said they would double or add to the bid if it wasn’t being picked up. So that seemed a little different than the other companies. Setting up the transport was relatively easy. Because I researched other products, I knew the questions to ask, things I couldn’t find online. So, all my questions were answered. The experience was positive. Because of the challenges of where I was located, on the day of the pickup, I met the driver. It was relatively close and in an open parking lot, where I felt safe. So, it wasn’t an issue. The driver did a walk around, pointing out any dings that were already there. And I was there with him as he did it. I also took a video of myself prior to him showing up, just to have that on record. The transport took six days from Washington state to North Carolina. The lowest Sherpa said was four days and the most was nine days. The driver contacted me closer to the day to get a better location for where the large truck would be able to go.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Mount Vernon, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Washington. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
