What our Everett customers say about Sherpa:
“When Sherpa put the bid out, they said they would double or add to the bid if it wasn’t being picked up. So that seemed a little different than the other companies. Setting up the transport was relatively easy. Because I researched other products, I knew the questions to ask, things I couldn’t find online. So, all my questions were answered. The experience was positive.”
“Sherpa was great. I talked to a lady and she was really good. The price was high. However, in my specific circumstance delivering the car to my teenage daughter in Colorado, I wanted zero issues at the end of the delivery. One of the reasons why I picked Sherpa was because of their guarantee. If there are any overages, they would eat those overages.”
“I am so impressed with Sherpa. My truck was picked up with pics taken and delivered again with pics taken. Truck was without any damages. The driver was very courteous. The staff at Sherpa were more than helpful. I even had another transport scheduled with a short time frame, and the staff worked really efficiently to get it scheduled.”

Note: These figures reflect the past 12 months of Sherpa Auto Transport’s vehicle shipments to or from Everett, WA. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Everett Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The farther your vehicle needs to travel, the more expensive the car shipping will be. Everett’s location near major highways like I-5 and I-405 can help reduce costs for long-distance auto transport.
- Trailer Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Everett. Enclosed trailers offer extra protection but cost about 50% more and may have longer delivery times.
- Pickup and Drop-off Locations: Everett’s urban setting and proximity to Seattle can help keep auto transport costs down. Rural destinations may increase prices due to harder access.
- Seasonal Factors: Everett’s rainy climate, especially from October to March, can affect car shipping prices. Summer months often see higher demand and costs for auto transport services.
- Vehicle Size and Condition: Larger or inoperable vehicles cost more to ship. Ensure your car is in running condition to avoid additional fees when transporting to or from Everett.
- Timing and Flexibility: Choosing a wider pickup window can reduce your car shipping costs. Rush services for quick auto transport to Everett will increase the price.
Understanding these factors can help you plan and budget for your car shipping needs in Everett, WA. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Everett car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open shipping is typically more affordable than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates while still providing reliable car shipping services.
- Consider location: Discuss pickup and drop-off points with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors. Locations near I-5 or US-2 in Everett can be more cost-effective due to easier access for car transport trucks.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues during auto transport.
- Be flexible: Offering date flexibility for both pickup and delivery can lead to better pricing options. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of more competitive rates for shipping a car to or from Everett, WA.
- Opt for terminal-to-terminal: While Sherpa doesn’t offer this service, it’s worth noting that terminal-to-terminal shipping can sometimes be more cost-effective than door-to-door car transport.
- Seasonal timing: If possible, schedule your Everett car shipping during off-peak seasons to potentially secure lower rates from auto transport companies.

How does Everett Car Shipping Work?
Navigating the car shipping process to or from Everett, WA, requires careful planning and consideration of local factors. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you ship your vehicle smoothly:
1. Get an Instant Quote: Start by obtaining a free online quote from Sherpa Auto Transport. This will give you an accurate estimate based on your specific needs and Everett’s location.
2. Choose Your Transport Method: Consider Everett’s climate when deciding between open or enclosed transport. With frequent rain and occasional snow, enclosed transport might offer extra protection for valuable vehicles.
3. Prepare Your Vehicle: Given Everett’s wet climate, thoroughly clean and dry your car before transport. This helps identify any existing damage and prevents moisture-related issues during shipping.
4. Plan for Seasonal Variations: Be aware that Everett’s weather can affect transport times. Winter snow on I-5 or SR-526 might cause delays, so plan accordingly when scheduling your shipment.
5. Consider Local Pickup/Drop-off Points: While Sherpa offers door-to-door service, be prepared for potential restrictions in certain Everett neighborhoods. The carrier might suggest nearby locations for easy access.
6. Stay Informed: Keep track of your vehicle’s progress as it travels along major routes like I-5 or US-2. Sherpa provides regular updates throughout the shipping process.
7. Prepare for Delivery: Upon arrival, inspect your vehicle thoroughly. Everett’s proximity to Puget Sound means salt air exposure during transport is possible, so check for any unexpected changes in condition.
By following these steps and working with a reputable car shipping company like Sherpa Auto Transport, you can ensure a smooth vehicle relocation experience to or from Everett, WA. For more detailed information on the car shipping process, check out our comprehensive guide on how to ship a car.
Everett Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When planning your car shipping to or from Everett, WA, it’s crucial to consider local regulations and practical aspects of your move. For those using auto transport services to Everett, be aware that Washington state requires vehicles to pass emissions testing in certain areas. However, Snohomish County, where Everett is located, no longer requires this test as of 2020.
If you’re bringing a car to Everett, you’ll need to register it within 30 days of establishing residency. The Washington Department of Licensing handles vehicle registration, and you can often complete this process online. Don’t forget to update your driver’s license as well!
Everett uses the Good To Go! pass for tolling on I-405 and SR 520. If your car transport provider uses these routes, consider removing your pass to avoid accidental charges. For parking, Everett offers various options, including residential parking zones that may require permits.
When settling in Everett, set up utilities through Snohomish County PUD for electricity and the City of Everett for water. For internet, providers like Xfinity and CenturyLink serve the area. Don’t forget to register to vote and get your Everett Public Library card!
If you’re moving away and using car shipping services from Everett, remember to cancel local memberships, forward your mail, and notify important contacts of your move. Also, consider Everett’s weather when planning your auto transport. The city experiences mild, wet winters and cool summers, so shipping your car during drier months might be preferable.
Whether you’re using a car shipping company to move to or from Everett, understanding these local nuances will help ensure a smooth transition. Remember, reliable car transport is just one piece of the moving puzzle – but it’s an important one!
Everett, Washington Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Everett?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Everett. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Everett?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Everett?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Everett?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?

Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.

Reviews from our Washington Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Washington customers:
“I was considering a handful of transport companies, but when I looked for reviews on Better Business Bureau, the name of Sherpa Auto Transport came up first. I had them ship my Toyota Prius from Everett, Washington to my daughter in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she moved to. The customer service reps were professional and friendly. I was concerned, though, because Sherpa cost a bit more than the regular and that’s because they give the customer the real price and there are no tricks and surprises. In the past, I had a car shipped and I almost didn’t get my car because I didn’t have what the driver expected. I was really nervous, thinking I could not have that happen again. My need for transport service went on a computer nationwide and drivers looked at it. A driver, Max, called me before Sherpa did and I told him that since they already saw the job, I would let Sherpa know that they were willing to take it. So, Sherpa contacted the driver and that came on the ball. My communication with Sherpa and the driver was really good. They were both great and let me know every step of the way. The driver was really on top of the transport. The pickup and the delivery were both fine. The meeting of the driver with my daughter worked out really well. He found the place right away and pulled to the side of the road. I was surprised that he was able to sit there without blocking traffic. He was professional with whatever he was doing. The transport took three days and the delivery worked out well. The car was transported in an open truck and my daughter said it was really dirty when it arrived, but I told her that apparently that was normal. Anyway, the car was fine. The final cost of service was what I was hoping it would be. I wouldn’t waste my time looking for other transport companies because Sherpa was very honest. I was afraid to give them my card number, but they did not take any money until they had the driver and set everything up like they said they would. Everybody did what they said they were gonna do, which is so important in business.”
“I was relocating and I needed to have my Jeep transported 1,500 miles. I looked at half a dozen transport companies and settled with Sherpa based on the customer service, professionalism and price. The reps I dealt with were on the ball. They called me if anything changed and followed through with ETAs and updates. I was told that the transport would take three to four days, which was reasonable. I wasn’t there during the car’s delivery, but the people I left it to told me that it was thorough and there were no issues. The car was also in the same condition as when I dropped it off. I would recommend Sherpa and I definitely will reuse them again if need be.”
“Sherpa seemed to be a little bit more legitimate and their costs were better. I was a little hesitant at first, but overall, once the car was delivered, it was what I had hoped for. They picked it up within the timeframe. There was not a scratch on it. They delivered really fast, so I would definitely use them again.”
“I felt completely assured from the time I spoke with the gentleman who arranged the complete transfer of my 2007 Subaru from Traverse City Michigan to Boise Idaho to my handshake with Andy, the driver who delivered my car. Thank you Sherpa for your great service! This was my first experience with a transport company and I was very pleased. I highly recommend this company. Denyse Everett“

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Everett, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Washington. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.

- Hydraulic systems used in car carriers allow the trailers to be raised or lowered, making it easier and safer to load and unload vehicles. This feature is now standard in many auto transport trucks. [Source: Tempus Logix]
- The “head rack” design—which allows an extra car to be transported above the truck’s cab—was first introduced in the 1960s. This innovation maximized the number of vehicles that could be shipped on a single truck without extending its length. [Source: Super Dispatch]
- During World War II, specialized military transport trucks were developed to haul heavy vehicles like tanks. These trucks, known as “tank transporters,” could carry loads of up to 100 tons, paving the way for modern heavy-duty transport trucks. [Source: National WWII Museum]
- Auto transport trucks can have fuel tanks that hold up to 300 gallons of diesel, allowing them to travel over 2,000 miles without needing to refuel. This is crucial for long-haul routes, ensuring continuous operation with minimal stops. [Source: Diesel Technology Forum]
- Some modern car carriers are made of lightweight aluminum, which reduces the trailer’s weight by up to 3,000 pounds compared to steel.
