What our Falls Church customers say about Sherpa:
“Sherpa made the whole experience stress-free. The rep explained the whole procedure and they had my transport set up right away. Price was good and never changed. They met my pick-up date and delivered the car in great shape to Falls Church.”
“I transported my Prius from DC to San Diego. Josh M at Sherpa was transparent with the process and was the only carrier who told me outright that the service will not be able to pick up in DC and that the handover was to happen in nearby Virginia. They were able to get a “spot” in Unified Auto Trans Corp and my car was transported without a hitch.”
“I’m very pleased with Sherpa. They were the most knowledgeable and the nicest, no-pressure, and they got back with my wife where nobody else did. The driver was excellent. We had to meet him at the freeway because he couldn’t get his truck in the neighborhood, which was no problem. He did a beautiful job and he got it there on time to Virginia.”

Factors that affect Falls Church Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Falls Church, VA significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Falls Church. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from weather and road debris, which can be beneficial during Virginia’s occasional severe storms.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship to or from Falls Church due to the space they occupy and their weight.
- Season: Auto transport prices in Falls Church can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January often see higher rates due to increased demand, while spring and fall may offer more competitive pricing.
- Route Popularity: Falls Church’s proximity to major highways like I-66 and I-495 can positively impact shipping costs, as carriers prefer routes along main thoroughfares.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower car shipping costs to or from Falls Church. Expedited services will increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are less expensive to ship as they can be driven onto the carrier. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the cost.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Falls Church car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.

- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major interstates like I-66 or I-495. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of pickup and delivery dates to increase your chances of finding the most cost-effective auto transport options. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of off-peak shipping times.
- Consider seasonal factors: Falls Church experiences all four seasons, which can impact car shipping costs. Summer months often see higher demand, so planning your auto transport during less busy periods may result in better rates.

Reviews from our Virginia Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Virginia customers:
“I just had my very first car shipment experience, which was a bit complicated: I was leaving my car in Virginia beach after a road trip and flying to Minneapolis for a wedding. I just didn`t have time to make that drive between work and the wedding, but I live in Chicago. So I needed my car moved from Virginia beach to Chicago without me being in either location physically. I researched the options for shipment companies and read about all the nightmare scenarios that could happen. However, Sherpa was highly rated, reasonably priced, and easy to work with. I also felt secure in their guarantee that the amount wouldn`t change and they would front their own money to the drivers to make sure.”
“Sherpa gave me a date range and they made it within the range. It was the last day of the range, but they were able to lock in within a day or two of the last day of the range. They told me it would be two to five days, but I got the car the next day from when they picked it up. They picked it up around Washington, DC area and dropped it off in Atlanta. My son was at the pick-up. He said they walked around the car and they took pictures of any dings and dents. It was a pretty seamless process. Once the car was in motion, I had no contact with the courier. During the drop-off, they were able to get to my neighborhood. The problem is, in our neighborhood, they`re relocating some water mains and some sewer lines. So, there are streets that are absolutely closed off, and the navigation system that the driver was using didn`t have that information. So, he got stuck behind a closed street. It was easier for him to just unload the car on a regular street, and then just drive it to the house and my wife took him back to his truck. According to the pictures my son sent me, the car was the exact same as when he picked it up. Sherpa guaranteed the price and we Venmoed the delivery driver and it was the exact same price.”
“Sherpa was a little bit cheaper than the other company we looked at. The representatives asked what we were looking for, and the make and model. They wanted to know where we wanted the car to go to and where is it being taken from. They explained they couldn`t go into heavy residential areas, gave us a quote, and followed up by text. The pick-up process was great. The guy texted before he arrived and told us how many minutes before he was going to get here. He came, grabbed the car, loaded it up, gave us a receipt, and he confirmed to make sure that the address that they had for the other end was accurate. The person who received the car on the other end said the car was still in excellent condition. Sherpa did everything I expected they would.”
“I am usually very skeptical about this business due to my experience with some other organizations, but Sherpa was a breath of fresh air. They were polite, courteous and with me through this stressful time as I was transporting my car from a remote part of Virginia to the San Francisco Bay Area. They stayed with me and answered my calls promptly to give me periodic updates, even when I was impatient. The transporter they picked had bad google reviews, but I trusted Sherpa and they did not dissapoint. Although the driver could not speak good English, but the car came in perfect condition and did not charge anything extra even though I kept some stuff in the back seat. The driver dropped off the car 8 miles off the destination but offered me $10 for a Uber ride. That much is acceptable since these trailers are heavy and may not be possible to bring them to residential areas.”
“I can`t express enough how incredibly great and smooth my experience was with Sherpa. From the moment I first called them and spoke to a representative to the handling over my keys. They communicated with me almost daily to make sure I understood the process and had contact with my deliveryman. His name was Phillip from Spokane Wa and he was super courteous and right on time down to the last minute. He had constant contact with me as well. Super pleased with the quik delivery and incredibly exceptional service. They never veared from their original quote even when my delivery address was mildly changed. Said it was going to possibly take up to 10 days to get from Cheney, Wa to Nw West Virginia but took less than a week. I recommend this company to anyone! I give them 10 stars☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Falls Church, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Virginia. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
