What our Temple customers say about Sherpa:
“The transport went very well. The movers picked up my vehicle in the three-day timeframe they had mentioned and got here a day earlier than expected. I got a standalone quote with no extra costs and variables. Sherpa was very friendly and helpful. They kept me informed each step of the way.”
“The Sherpa representative was great. When she said she was gonna call me, she called me. And when she said she was gonna email me information, she did. Compared to the last three experiences I had, it was the best. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, thinking this could be a big pain in the neck, but it didn’t and they were really good.”
“I needed to transport two vehicles from Texas to Florida in a very short period of time and not only were they able to find a driver, the price was reasonable. I also must say the driver was friendly and helped out with the inspection, he also kept in touch and delivered right on time as he promised.”

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Temple?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

During the summer months (June to August), temperatures in Temple can soar above 95°F (35°C). If you’re shipping a car during this time:

When scheduling your Temple car shipping, also consider these factors:
- Spring and fall are generally the best times for car transport in Temple, with milder weather and potentially lower rates.
- If you’re a student at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor or Temple College, avoid scheduling your car shipping during the busy move-in and move-out periods at the beginning and end of semesters.
- Be aware that auto transport demand may increase during major events like the Texas State Fair in nearby Dallas (late September to mid-October).
By considering these seasonal factors, you can ensure a smoother car shipping experience to or from Temple, TX. Always consult with your chosen car shipping company for the most up-to-date advice on shipping a car in this region.

Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“I needed to ship a 2013 Cadillac Escalade for 1,100 miles. I`m a senior citizen and I don`t drive well on long distances so I decided to call a transport service. I checked about six companies and I liked Sherpa Auto Transport’s integrity. They told me that they won`t promise anything they can`t deliver and that they’d pick up the car on this date and deliver it by this date and time and they did that. Also, the quote given was very competitive and the final cost stayed exactly the same. The driver was a very nice young man and he called me every six hours to let me know when he would be here. He communicated with me all the way through the trip. Then after I got the car here, the owner, John, called me to make sure that I was happy with the service. Sherpa did a great job and I appreciate the service that they provided.”
“We were moving from Chicago land area to LA so I needed to ship my car. I reached out to an open site, which gave me a million people. I started reading and they were just relentless. I was not moving for a while. I had no idea if it was gonna cost $1,000 to ship my car or $5,000. I was just trying to get estimates. My move was never an exact date to pick up the car. I was waiting on selling our house and a bunch of other things. I started to find someone again and Sherpa came up highly recommended. It had great reviews and a very competitive price. They didn`t inundate me. It was like, “When I figure it out, I`ll let you know.” Another issue was when we were moving and getting ourselves out here, we didn`t have an address because we didn`t find a house yet. Sherpa picked up the car and we didn`t even 100% know where we were looking to move to yet. That was pretty interesting. I had to update them. We were dealing with two people and they were fine. They understood and were very easy to talk to. Someone then called and said they were with Sherpa and were picking up the car. They were great. It took four days from start to finish. They even came in a day early than they said. The driver would text me every time like where he was gonna be, where he`s at now, and when he was gonna get there. He texted me the day before saying he was going to be in the vicinity at around X amount of time. It was perfect. The driver knew where we are going and dropping off my car was super easy. He was at the mall and it was great because he said he might be running late. I was having dinner with friends. I told the driver to let me know when he got there and I would run out and give him my keys. He kept me in the loop the entire time. We had snow so that was an issue. It was the same thing going in. We had to go a little further but it was not a big deal. He was right on like what time to pick up so that was fine. My husband said the car was gonna come washed but it didn`t. The car arrived really dirty but that didn`t bother me. I just did that drive so I understood. I was driving from Chicago to here. I went through a windstorm or tornadoes through Oklahoma, snow and fall staff, and a sandstorm somewhere in Texas. It definitely was a lot of debris. On the whole, call direct and book Sherpa. It was a no-brainer. You put your stuff in and they come.”
“We’re from Arlington, Texas and our son is in the Coast Guard. We had to ship a Honda CR-V to him in Oregon. It was a personal vehicle. We looked at three transport companies and ended up with Sherpa. I was able to check out their office in Tennessee. There was actually a physical location. The company also had good recommendations and things with the Better Business Bureau. I mostly communicated with them by email and I had one phone call. Customer service handled everything great and I was very pleased. They gave me a good quote and I felt pretty confident with them. Their quote seemed to be a little bit higher compared to the other companies that I went with, but I felt I was gonna get a better situation. The quote was very accurate compared to the other ones. The transport was 1,500 miles and it took about four days to get to Oregon. It was quicker than they said it was gonna be. They brought the car right to where my son lives. They were just right down the street from his apartment. The driver that picked up the car was a little personable and he did a good job with the car overhead. He looked the car over and made sure there wasn`t anything wrong with it. He was a very nice young man. My son said the car was a little bit dirty from being on the road for that long. Otherwise, it was great. I got a really good service for the price that I paid. It was really fair. I would highly recommend Sherpa. They did a great job. They followed through with everything they said they were gonna do in a timely manner.”
“I`ve had experiences with really shady characters `cause I moved from Oregon to Texas two years ago, and I was ripped off the first time for a couple of $1,000. I couldn`t believe how many dishonest people there are in the middle of that. They don`t want an inventory from you because if you give them an inventory then that`s everything that you wanted and they can`t give you this sham of, “Oh, we didn`t know you wanted to move that too.” I had a 1,500 piece inventory with dimensions for everything, and they didn`t want to see it. It was a very difficult experience. I heard it was the same thing with transporting cars, so I was very careful. I went to the Better Business Bureau website and the only company I was gonna use was the one that had an A rating. Sherpa was one of the several companies that were recommended on the site. I called five people, and Sherpa had the most congenial salesman. He also made me a guarantee right up front that it was gonna cost me a certain amount of money. They had to use their commission to pay for the driver `cause they couldn`t find somebody at the price they gave me. Sherpa was really awesome. Plus, they were very efficient. Every phase of the operation was documented and they sent me an email or a text on every phase. They also got me in touch with the driver and he made me aware of everything that was taking place at the pickup, the delivery and his transit. They were very professional. I was buying a car from a relative, and that relative took pictures of the truck. The driver also took pictures, and he delivered the truck as well as the pictures. I had two sets of pictures and the car was perfect. Everything was great, and I couldn`t ask for any better. I wrote a review for Sherpa`s website, and another one for the Better Business Bureau website also.”
“I was moving and there was a truck in Alabama that I wanted to move out here in Texas. I read the reviews for Sherpa and then, I was pleased with the website and how everything was laid out. All the information was answered and I didn’t get that from the other companies so much and there were some bad reviews on the other ones. Sherpa’s reps were very easy to work with. They ran into one problem and it was resolved quickly, so I was pleased with that. People always want a lower quote but I was satisfied and it was exactly what I was charged. I had to put a date in for the pickup and I had to make it work since I thought it was around that day. I understand the logistics of it but it was frustrating. I drove 15 hours to get there at the pickup location and didn’t even sleep. By the time I got there, it was four in the morning but the driver got there at eight in the morning. Then, there was a communication barrier because the driver didn’t speak good English. My grandfather was there for the pickup but I`m glad I went because that would have been a little more challenging for my grandfather than it was for me. We got through it and even my wife while receiving the truck. There was no problem with the delivery and when the truck arrived, it was perfect. There was a female there when I was getting my vehicle picked up who was asking questions about Sherpa. She was trying to get information from the driver who didn’t speak in English. So, I talked to her and gave her the number to contact Sherpa and the website. I also told her how I came up with the decision, so it was sort of a credible review to her and I think she was looking to get a vehicle moved as well.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Temple, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.

- During World War II, specialized military transport trucks were developed to haul heavy vehicles like tanks. These trucks, known as “tank transporters,” could carry loads of up to 100 tons, paving the way for modern heavy-duty transport trucks. [Source: National WWII Museum]
