What our Rockwall customers say about Sherpa:
“I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm!”
“I needed to transport two vehicles from Texas to Florida in a very short period of time and not only were they able to find a driver, the price was reasonable. I also must say the driver was friendly and helped out with the inspection, he also kept in touch and delivered right on time as he promised. Felt confidant that my vehicles would arrive safe and they did.”
“The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th. I also want to leave positive comments on the carrier, New Day Inc. If you are fortunate enough to get Next Day, Inc. and Sergei as the driver, you will be in good hands. He arrived on time, sent me a detailed, inspection report and emailed an electronic Bill of Lading before driving away.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Rockwall Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Rockwall, TX significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances typically result in higher prices, but the per-mile rate often decreases for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Rockwall. Enclosed trailers, while offering extra protection, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Location Accessibility: Rockwall’s proximity to Dallas and major highways like I-30 can make it more accessible for car shipping services, potentially reducing costs compared to more remote areas.
- Seasonal Factors: Rockwall’s hot summers and mild winters can affect car shipping prices. Summer months often see higher demand and prices, while winter shipping may be more affordable but could face occasional weather-related delays.
- Vehicle Size and Condition: Larger or heavier vehicles cost more to ship. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the price. Most standard cars and SUVs common in Rockwall are straightforward to transport.
- Timing Flexibility: Opting for a wider pickup window can lead to more competitive rates when shipping a car to or from Rockwall. Rush or guaranteed delivery dates typically come at a premium.
- Market Demand: Auto transport prices can fluctuate based on the current demand for car shipping services in the Rockwall area and along your specific route.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from Rockwall more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of car shipping costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Rockwall car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundled pickups along I-30 or other major highways serving Rockwall.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more affordable than enclosed transport. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major routes like I-30 or Highway 205. This can help reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall car shipping price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before transport. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item security during shipping.
- Be flexible: Offering date flexibility for pickup and delivery can help you secure better car shipping options and potentially lower costs. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of carrier availability in the Rockwall area.
- Consider seasonal timing: Auto transport rates may fluctuate based on season. If possible, plan your Rockwall car shipping during off-peak times to potentially secure more competitive pricing.

Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“I Googled the top 10 shipping companies, and Sherpa was number 2. I called the first one, and they didn`t answer, so I called Sherpa. They answered and they were really nice. They told me some information that others didn`t or tried to withhold, and that was pretty nice in terms of transparency. I`m glad that I was able to connect with Sherpa. Because there were some that called me to give me offers and there were some of them that were bad mouthing others. I appreciate it when I spoke with Sherpa that they weren`t like that. It was more so on the professional side and just trying to help me get my car to where it needed to go. The guy that came to get the car was really awesome. He`s even from Texas, so I knew that he was familiar with the area. Communication was awesome as well. On his way to Cali, he kept me notified every half hour or so. When he got to the pickup location, he was pretty respectful in terms of not wanting to drive the big vehicle into this gated community, because a lot of them parked their cars outside along the road. I met the driver outside and he loaded my car with very good care and got it to Texas in less than the time I was told.”
“I had a car with a blown engine and had to ship it from Driftwood, Texas to Deerfield Beach, Florida to get it repaired. The window for someone to pick up the contract was eight days and they picked it up in six days. It was one of those big transports with 10 cars on it and ours was the last one to go on. The driver texted us 40 minutes before he was gonna show up. He was a really nice guy. The engine had problems and we didn’t want it to be started and stopped too many times. He told us that he would locate it on the truck at his next stop where it would only have to be started that one time other than the drop-off point. He did that and it was a successful transport. He was fantastic. From our experience, Sherpa is dependable. We’re happy and we’re gonna use them to come back this way. The car is gonna be coming back in two months and I already have the contact at Sherpa to call them and schedule the pick-up.”
“I found Sherpa very open and honest about the entire process, how they find drivers, what kind of insurance they have, what to expect, and what to watch out for. I like that they were very upfront with me about everything. Also, the rep was very patient in answering all my questions. I reserved a date but I told them I wasn`t sure what my exact date would be. I wanted a week to week flexibility so they did that. They put it on hold so they wouldn`t find a driver till I was ready to ship the car. The pickup and delivery were very smooth. The driver called us and told me when he got delayed a little because of traffic. He texted me several times to tell me how far he was. He couldn`t drive up right to my house because of the trees that we have and he told me that he didn`t want to risk the cars getting scratched, which was very nice. I appreciated that. We found a place where it was open and he could pull up without causing damage to anything. It was pretty well-organized and he knew what he was doing. He did the walkthrough with me, all of the pre-conditions when he picked up and then when he dropped off. It was a good experience.”
“Sherpa had one of the easiest websites to navigate, and then they recognized right away that with my vehicle, they couldn`t give me a quote online. They told me to call. Other websites gave me a quote and then changed it later because they realized the dimensions are not quite the same. So, I appreciated the straightforwardness of Sherpa. It was super easy to schedule a pickup. My car got there in less time than I thought it would take, and then my parents on the other end said it was really easy to pick it up and it was painless. So, everything was pretty easy. Communication with the driver was not too much, thank goodness, because I wouldn`t have wanted too much either. He called me when he was about an hour away, and then he called me when he arrived. Then, on the other end, he called my parents when he was about an hour away. He got there the night before, so he called my mom the next morning and my mom was able to go and pick it up that morning at her convenience. Overall, Sherpa was easy to book and there weren`t any surprises. Everything was very clear and straightforward and I`d use Sherpa again.”
“I retained Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a SUV from TX to NJ. I opted for a flexible 5 day window pick up and open transport. They weren’t the cheapest but they weren’t the most expensive either. I went with them because they had a $100k cargo insurance and provided reimbursement for a car cleaning 2 weeks from drop off. The deposit and final payment was all relayed by credit card, which was convenient. After a deposit was made, they sent my order to dispatch to match with a driver. I made the initial order 2 weeks before pick up and was assigned a driver a few days before the start of my pick up window. The driver contacted me the night before pick up of their expected arrival time. When they arrived, we walked around the car to confer the condition of the vehicle and they took the vehicle to load onto their trailer. It took about a week and they had a local driver drop off at the destination who also walked through the condition of the car. It was nice, simple, easy, and they were communicative. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Rockwall, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
