What our Missouri City customers say about Sherpa:
“I wasn’t there for the pick-up because I had already moved to California. But my parents helped me, and they said that everything was smooth. And the delivery was equally. The driver just brought my car. I signed off, made sure no damages. And it’s a straightforward process. For the pick-up, we had to meet the truck somewhere because the cul-de-sac of our neighborhood could not fit the truck. But for delivery, the area where he dropped it off, it’s a wide space. So, it was right in front of my door in Missouri City.”
“This service is excellent. They responded fast and walked me through the process. When I called they answered and told me exactly when my car was being picked up and delivered. They also sent text. The car was picked up within a day and delivered within two days. I highly recommend them for shipping to Missouri City.”
“Kate and Sherpa saved the day! The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th. The service from Sherpa, Kate and Next Day, Inc was flawless. Even the personal belongings that were packed in the trunk arrived safely. Thank you!”

Note: These figures reflect the past 12 months of Sherpa Auto Transport’s vehicle shipments to or from Missouri City, TX. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Missouri City Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Missouri City, TX significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Type: The size and weight of your car affect shipping rates. Larger vehicles like SUVs or trucks cost more to transport than compact cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Method: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Missouri City. Enclosed transport, while pricier, offers extra protection from weather and road debris, ideal for luxury or classic cars.
- Seasonal Factors: Auto transport prices in Missouri City can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months often see higher demand and prices, while winter may offer more competitive rates, except during holidays.
- Location Accessibility: Missouri City’s proximity to major highways like US-90A and the Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road can make pickup and delivery easier, potentially lowering costs compared to more remote areas.
- Timing and Flexibility: Being flexible with your pickup and delivery dates can lead to better rates. Rush or guaranteed delivery services typically cost more.
- Vehicle Condition: Operational vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the shipping cost.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping a car to or from Missouri City, TX. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Missouri City car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is typically more affordable than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates, especially for standard vehicles.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major highways like I-69 or US-90A. This can reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your price.
- Lighten your load: Remove personal items from your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates liability concerns for the car shipping company.
- Stay flexible: Offering date flexibility for pickup and delivery can help you secure better rates. Consider a range of dates rather than a specific day for your Missouri City auto transport.
- Off-peak shipping: If possible, schedule your car transport during less busy seasons. Avoiding peak moving times can lead to more competitive pricing for shipping a car to or from Missouri City, TX.

In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Missouri City?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.

The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.

No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. “I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm! The carrier was friendly and customer service was excellent!”
“I retained Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a SUV from TX to NJ. I opted for a flexible 5 day window pick up and open transport. They weren’t the cheapest but they weren’t the most expensive either. I went with them because they had a $100k cargo insurance and provided reimbursement for a car cleaning 2 weeks from drop off. The deposit and final payment was all relayed by credit card, which was convenient. After a deposit was made, they sent my order to dispatch to match with a driver. I made the initial order 2 weeks before pick up and was assigned a driver a few days before the start of my pick up window. The driver contacted me the night before pick up of their expected arrival time. When they arrived, we walked around the car to confer the condition of the vehicle and they took the vehicle to load onto their trailer. It took about a week and they had a local driver drop off at the destination who also walked through the condition of the car. It was nice, simple, easy, and they were communicative. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Missouri City, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
