What our Longview customers say about Sherpa:
“I had an Audi that I bought from my brother that was in Texas and we had to move it from Longview to Galt, California. I reached out to Sherpa and I didn’t have any problems. Their rep told me what to expect and who they’d be in contact with. So, I gave my brother’s information then they were in contact with him and made all the arrangements on that end.”
“The Sherpa representative was great. When she said she was gonna call me, she called me. And when she said she was gonna email me information, she did. Compared to the last three experiences I had, it was the best. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, thinking this could be a big pain in the neck, but it didn’t and they were really good.”
“I had a very good experience with Sherpa and Kate! The agent I dealt with from Sherpa was Kate and she had solutions not excuses. Yes, I did pay for expedited service, but she got a carrier assigned the same day and saved the day! The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th.”

Note: These figures reflect the past 12 months of Sherpa Auto Transport’s vehicle shipments to or from Longview, TX. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Longview Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey greatly impacts car shipping costs to or from Longview, TX. Longer distances typically mean higher prices, as fuel consumption and driver time increase.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to Longview. Enclosed trailers, while offering extra protection, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship due to the space they occupy and their weight. This is particularly relevant when shipping to Longview, as Texas is known for its love of big vehicles.
- Seasonal Factors: Longview’s hot summers can affect car shipping prices. The peak season for auto transport, typically summer months, may see higher rates due to increased demand.
- Route Accessibility: Longview’s proximity to major highways like I-20 can help keep costs down. However, if you’re shipping to or from more remote areas outside the city, prices may increase.
- Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates can lead to more competitive pricing. Rush services for car transport to Longview will typically cost more.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of shipping to Longview.
Understanding these factors can help you better estimate the cost of car shipping to or from Longview, TX. - Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major highways like I-20 or US-259. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues. Remember, car shipping companies aren’t responsible for items left in the vehicle.
- Be flexible: Offering flexibility in pickup and delivery dates can lead to better options and potential savings. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of more cost-effective shipping times.
- Utilize Sherpa’s expertise: Our experienced advisors understand the unique aspects of Longview, TX car shipping. They can help you navigate local considerations and find the most efficient, cost-effective solution for your auto transport needs.

Longview, Texas Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Longview?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Longview. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Longview?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Longview?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Longview?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.
Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“We were moving from Chicago land area to LA so I needed to ship my car. I reached out to an open site, which gave me a million people. I started reading and they were just relentless. I was not moving for a while. I had no idea if it was gonna cost $1,000 to ship my car or $5,000. I was just trying to get estimates. My move was never an exact date to pick up the car. I was waiting on selling our house and a bunch of other things. I started to find someone again and Sherpa came up highly recommended. It had great reviews and a very competitive price. They didn`t inundate me. It was like, “When I figure it out, I`ll let you know.” Another issue was when we were moving and getting ourselves out here, we didn`t have an address because we didn`t find a house yet. Sherpa picked up the car and we didn`t even 100% know where we were looking to move to yet. That was pretty interesting. I had to update them. We were dealing with two people and they were fine. They understood and were very easy to talk to. Someone then called and said they were with Sherpa and were picking up the car. They were great. It took four days from start to finish. They even came in a day early than they said. The driver would text me every time like where he was gonna be, where he`s at now, and when he was gonna get there. He texted me the day before saying he was going to be in the vicinity at around X amount of time. It was perfect. The driver knew where we are going and dropping off my car was super easy. He was at the mall and it was great because he said he might be running late. I was having dinner with friends. I told the driver to let me know when he got there and I would run out and give him my keys. He kept me in the loop the entire time. We had snow so that was an issue. It was the same thing going in. We had to go a little further but it was not a big deal. He was right on like what time to pick up so that was fine. My husband said the car was gonna come washed but it didn`t. The car arrived really dirty but that didn`t bother me. I just did that drive so I understood. I was driving from Chicago to here. I went through a windstorm or tornadoes through Oklahoma, snow and fall staff, and a sandstorm somewhere in Texas. It definitely was a lot of debris. On the whole, call direct and book Sherpa. It was a no-brainer. You put your stuff in and they come.”
“The gentleman from Sherpa who assisted me was very informative, explaining the whole process. He told me what to be aware of and of how other companies can take advantage if you don`t know what you`re looking for. He didn`t say that he was the right choice. He said it was my choice to select the company I wanted to use for my auto transport. So, I felt confident that he provided me with the right information. I spoke to others as well and they were much higher. So, I went with the one that was best for my budget. Sherpa was very straightforward and even gave me the opportunity to select who I wanted to choose. They weren`t going to be the best choice but I went with them because they were truthful and honest about the process. Shawn, the driver, was wonderful. His partner reached out to me and informed me that they would be able to pick up my car. She told me what day they would be picking it up and what day to expect it here in my area for delivery. So, she kept me engaged as far as giving me a status. When they knew they weren`t gonna be able to make it a day earlier, they were very upfront, giving me a call to tell me that the driver had a delay, there was no additional fees for that delay, and was still able to get it to me on the day that they originally stated it would. So, it was very good communication. Then, when the vehicle got here, it was very easy to find the gentleman. We met in a public location, in a Walmart parking lot, for the driver’s safety because of how big of a rig he was driving, and for my safety, too, not knowing whom I was going to be meeting with. I had a nice conversation with the gentleman. My husband and I both felt like he was a straightforward, very good guy. And it was simple and very easy. I was quoted 725. I paid 250 for the deposit and my card did not get charged any more than the 250. I had to provide 475 cash at the time of delivery, which I was able to do. And everything was fine. There was no fluctuation in the cost.”
“My experience was great start to finish. There was a miscommunication error, but it was an easy fix. I started researching about 6 weeks before my move. I was connected with Scott who explained the process to me. I took the info and compared with other companies. Sherpa stood out with the price guarantee and great reviews so they were my choice. I submitted my credit card info to hold and then I received a call about 48 before the beginning of my transport window. They let me know that a driver had accepted my bid and that I would get another call about 24 hours prior to transport. I got the call and they picked up my car the next day. I was moving from KY to TX the next day. To my surprise they said the car would arrive in Texas the next day. I expected it to take a few days. I landed in Texas the next morning and as I was leaving the airport in an Uber, my phone rings saying that my car had been unloaded and the driver was waiting on me. How in the world?! My car left KY at 4pm and was in TX at 10am the next morning. The car actually got there before I did. The driver was great, customer service was great, my overall experience was great. I highly recommend Sherpa.”
“I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm! The carrier was friendly and customer service was excellent! The street where he picked up the car was too narrow for his truck, so he parked the truck, walked to the pick up address, checked out the car, filled out the BOL and drive by daughter`s car to the truck and loaded it! Great work Horizon Carriers and superb vetting process on the part of Sherpa Auto Transport for choosing only the best of the best for their customers! This was our first time transporting a car so we were nervous, but Sherpa made it a truly stress-free experience!!! Thank you for caring about your customers and putting their needs first!”
“My youngest was in college in Michigan and a family that had befriended him had fallen on hard times. Their daughter was his roommate and she needed a car for her summer work program because she had to drive to get this internship. I just bought a new car and I had my old one that was still in very good shape. I didn`t need it and I don`t really need the money for it. I said that I`d give it to her but I couldn`t drive it up there. I was already going to fly it there to help him move. I found Sherpa and they had a really nice arrangement where we paid an upfront cost for them to find a driver and she just had to pay the driver. It was a really good thing for me because I wanted her commitment to pay something for the vehicle. It was a reasonable amount. That worked out really well for me. Sherpa was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The driver was very polite, courteous, and prompt. He got here on time and called me. He dropped off the vehicle and it was fine. I was very happy with the service. It was my first-time experience transporting a vehicle. I did it online and Sherpa came back promptly with a good price. I had contacted four other companies and some of them didn`t even respond. The ones that did were very, “Well, we`ll let you know,” that kind of thing. Sherpa was very good at getting me a price, “This is what it`s gonna cost.” It was getting closer to the deadline and they`d given me a window and they were still within the window. It was just so much was going on so I was a little nervous. I called Sherpa and at the time, you get an answering service thing because they get a lot of calls. I didn`t have time to wait. They called me right back and said, “We still haven`t found a driver for you, but we`ll get you something right now.” They didn`t realize I was anxious. They had a lot of information on their website. They were very prompt and they allayed my fears and said, “We haven`t found anyone yet, but if you need a name right now, we`ll get you one.” It worked out really well. In the payment way, the driver that they got wanted a little more cash so they reduced their fee that they would take from my card. But the problem was the young lady that was receiving the car only had so much cash and she`s a student. I said, “Well, look, can I just pay that difference to the driver upfront?” They said that was fine. When the driver came, I said, “I`ll give you the cash and then you can just email that you got the money.” He sent me a text that this was received so I had a record. That made me feel comfortable that he received that cash. When he arrived, he just took the additional cash from the young lady I was sending the car to. They were flexible and honest about the transaction. I would encourage people to use Sherpa. To drive the car would have cost me just as much money with hotel stays and gas. The stress would have been so much more too. You have to drive it 1,800 miles for three days and it would have been terrible. Sherpa delivered the car right when they said they were going to deliver it.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Longview, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
