What our League City customers say about Sherpa:
“I had a very good experience with Sherpa and Kate! I had booked with another highly rated autotransporter in early December for a January 3rd move from Texas to San Diego, and the car had to be there no later than January 9th. Several days before the scheduled pickup, there was still no carrier selected and daily chats just kept saying they would update me when a carrier was selected. On January 3rd, I was told they could meet the delivery deadlines. I called several other companies only to hear the same thing, that they could not guarantee shipping times. I decided to contact Sherpa as I had received a quote from them when I began to shop for auto transporters, but now I was desperate. The agent I dealt with from Sherpa was Kate and she had solutions not excuses.”
“I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm! The carrier was friendly and customer service was excellent!”
“I am truly grateful I found Sherpa Auto Transport. This was my first time arranging transportation and needless to say it was really overwhelming. I went online and found so many companies, but just had no idea how the process even worked. I contacted some and got quotes from a lot of them, but it was just frustrating because I wasn’t convinced by any. What made up my mind was that Sherpa was the only one that actually took the time to explain how the process worked. They were extremely nice and patient with me. I needed to transport two vehicles from Texas to Florida in a very short period of time and not only were they able to find a driver, the price was reasonable.”

Factors that affect League City Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to League City, TX significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from League City. Enclosed transport, while about 50% pricier, offers extra protection from Houston’s occasional severe weather but is typically only necessary for high-value or classic cars.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks popular in Texas, cost more to ship due to the space and weight they occupy on the carrier.
- Route Popularity: League City’s proximity to Houston and major highways like I-45 can affect pricing. More frequent routes often have competitive rates due to higher carrier availability.
- Seasonality: Summer months and January typically see higher car shipping prices to and from League City due to increased demand. Hurricane season (June to November) may also impact scheduling and costs.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Terminal-to-terminal service in nearby Houston might be cheaper than door-to-door delivery in League City, but less convenient.
- Vehicle Condition: Non-running vehicles cost more to ship as they require special equipment for loading and unloading.
- Timing Flexibility: Being flexible with pickup and delivery dates can often result in better rates for car shipping to or from League City.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your League City car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is typically the most cost-effective option for auto transport to or from League City, TX. It offers greater flexibility and lower rates compared to enclosed shipping.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major highways like I-45 or TX-146. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your overall car shipping price.
- Lighten your load: Remove personal items from your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates for your League City auto transport. This flexibility allows carriers to optimize their schedules and potentially offer more competitive pricing.
- Consider off-peak seasons: If possible, schedule your car shipping during less busy times of the year. Avoiding peak moving seasons can often result in more favorable rates for auto transport to or from League City.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from League City?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“My youngest was in college in Michigan and a family that had befriended him had fallen on hard times. Their daughter was his roommate and she needed a car for her summer work program because she had to drive to get this internship. I just bought a new car and I had my old one that was still in very good shape. I didn’t need it and I don’t really need the money for it. I said that I’d give it to her but I couldn’t drive it up there. I was already going to fly it there to help him move. I found Sherpa and they had a really nice arrangement where we paid an upfront cost for them to find a driver and she just had to pay the driver. It was a really good thing for me because I wanted her commitment to pay something for the vehicle. It was a reasonable amount. That worked out really well for me. Sherpa was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The driver was very polite, courteous, and prompt. He got here on time and called me. He dropped off the vehicle and it was fine. I was very happy with the service. It was my first-time experience transporting a vehicle. I did it online and Sherpa came back promptly with a good price. I had contacted four other companies and some of them didn’t even respond. The ones that did were very, “Well, we’ll let you know,” that kind of thing. Sherpa was very good at getting me a price, “This is what it’s gonna cost.” It was getting closer to the deadline and they’d given me a window and they were still within the window. It was just so much was going on so I was a little nervous. I called Sherpa and at the time, you get an answering service thing because they get a lot of calls. I didn’t have time to wait. They called me right back and said, “We still haven’t found a driver for you, but we’ll get you something right now.” They didn’t realize I was anxious. They had a lot of information on their website. They were very prompt and they allayed my fears and said, “We haven’t found anyone yet, but if you need a name right now, we’ll get you one.” It worked out really well. In the payment way, the driver that they got wanted a little more cash so they reduced their fee that they would take from my card. But the problem was the young lady that was receiving the car only had so much cash and she’s a student. I said, “Well, look, can I just pay that difference to the driver upfront?” They said that was fine. When the driver came, I said, “I’ll give you the cash and then you can just email that you got the money.” He sent me a text that this was received so I had a record. That made me feel comfortable that he received that cash. When he arrived, he just took the additional cash from the young lady I was sending the car to. They were flexible and honest about the transaction. I would encourage people to use Sherpa. To drive the car would have cost me just as much money with hotel stays and gas. The stress would have been so much more too. You have to drive it 1,800 miles for three days and it would have been terrible. Sherpa delivered the car right when they said they were going to deliver it.”
“Sherpa was rated by the Better Business Bureau very well. They had high customer ratings. They gave a reasonable price that wasn’t too high but wasn’t alarmingly low either. Most of the other companies just seemed like a scam. After I researched everything, I already knew that I was gonna go with Sherpa and hire them to do the booking part. I was transporting my wife’s vehicle so she didn’t have to drive across the country. Sherpa had a really good pledge where they offered a portion of money. If they couldn’t get the vehicle transported within the time slot that I allotted, they would add additional funding to try to increase the transporters to take it. That was the selling point for me. It was a last minute pickup. I needed the vehicle picked up within five days of contacting Sherpa and they were able to do so. The customer service and the drivers that they hired were all well. The driver called the day of and said that he was in Austin and that he was gonna be there for the day so he could pick up the car. We told him it would be a few hours, so he waited for us and picked up the car with no issues. The vehicle was picked up in the allotted time. Delivery-wise, they were ahead of schedule. The driver communicated when he was a few hours out that he was running early. Even though I wasn’t able to be there, my sister was. It was a smooth handoff.”
“I unexpectedly purchased a Porsche Cayman in San Antonio, TX and needed to move it to Cleveland, Ohio. All within the time span of 5 days. I posted a car transport request on one of the popular sites and received multiple queries and quotes. The Sherpa quote stood our as being one of the lower priced quotes, which caught my interest. After speaking with the Sherpa agent, I was impressed with his depth of knowledge, and the support that was promised throughout the entire process. I opted to select Sherpa, simply based on the person that spoke with, and their many positive on-line reviews. I thought it was an excellent value. The transporter who accepted the job of moving my Porsche was Konstantin. I must say that he was among the most conscientious persons I have ever met. He thoroughly photographed all aspects of my care before loading it into his enclosed trailer. He secured the wheels and covered the car. Throughout the two-day trip he provided updates. He also answered my text messages when I sent queries. That fellow was so good that I’d hire him for my own business, if I could! Shipping a Porsche was a bit unsettling. However, the Sherpa team and Konstantin did everything they could to reduce my anxiety and delivered my car as promised. Thank you, Sherpa and Konstantin. I offer my highest recommendations. Dr. Decker”
“I used Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a Jeep from Charlotte, NC to Austin, TX two weeks ago and was very pleased with their service. They were very easy to work with, kept in contact with me, followed up on any questions, picked up and delivered as scheduled, and were fairly priced. When the carrier Sherpa hired to transport my vehicle had not contact me as planned, I called Sherpa who immediately contacted the carrier, then followed up to see that the carrier had called me. At each stage of the process, Sherpa kept me up to date with emails as to the status of the transport. The driver for the carrier communicated with me on the days of pickup and delivery as to the specific time (within an hour) and location for pick-up and drop-off, as the truck was too large for some neighborhood streets. The driver also took good care loading, securing, and unloading my vehicle. I worked primarily with one contact at Sherpa for the entire process but when she wasn’t available her colleague addressed and followed up on my question quickly. I highly recommend that Sherpa Auto Transport be considered for any of your vehicle transport needs.”
“From the moment I contacted Sherpa Auto Transport, everything was smooth and efficient. I placed a call on Friday, had a call back by Saturday morning and transport arranged by Monday. They picked the car up in FL on Wednesday morning and we had it in San Antonio, TX on Thursday night. The driver was very responsive and courteous and his truck was immaculate. I was also extremely impressed with his driving ability. We have a sloped driveway and he maneuvered the trailer deftly right up to the garage door with literally a half inch of clearance to spare. The car arrived in the exact condition it was when it left. I have never transported a car before and to say it was a little bit daunting is an understatement. After getting the run around from another carrier, Sherpa really stepped in and made things easy. They were patient, explained the process thoroughly and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid for asking. I transported a car that was my father’s (a 1964 Porsche 356) that is very special to our family and I would trust Sherpa with it again.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in League City, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.

When choosing a car shipping company for transport to or from League City, TX, prioritize reputation and experience. Look for providers with a strong track record of successful auto transports and positive customer reviews. Ensure the company offers adequate insurance coverage and maintains a good safety record with the FMCSA. Consider factors like pricing, service range, and customer support quality. Be wary of unusually low quotes or companies demanding large upfront deposits. A reliable car transport service should offer transparent pricing and clear communication throughout the process. By carefully evaluating these aspects, you can find a trustworthy partner to safely ship your car to or from the beautiful Bay Area of Houston.
