What our Flower Mound customers say about Sherpa:
“I liked Sherpa’s name. I had an excellent experience with them. The only thing is it was hard to get ahold of them. I would have to go through an email, and I usually wouldn’t get an email. A lot of times, the phone would just go straight to voicemail. Other than that, everything was fantastic.”
“I had a very good experience with Sherpa and Kate! Kate had solutions not excuses. Yes, I did pay for expedited service, but she got a carrier assigned the same day and saved the day! The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th.”
“I needed to transport two vehicles from Texas to Florida in a very short period of time and not only were they able to find a driver, the price was reasonable. I also must say the driver was friendly and helped out with the inspection, he also kept in touch and delivered right on time as he promised.”

Factors that affect Flower Mound Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey affects car shipping costs. Transporting a vehicle to or from Flower Mound, TX to nearby cities like Dallas or Fort Worth will be less expensive than shipping to distant locations like New York or California.
- Transport Type: Open trailers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to Flower Mound. Enclosed transport, while about 50% pricier, offers extra protection for high-value vehicles against Texas’s occasional severe weather.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks popular in Texas, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Route Accessibility: Flower Mound’s proximity to major highways like I-35E and I-635 can help reduce costs. However, if you’re shipping to or from a more remote area of Texas, it may increase the price.
- Seasonal Factors: Auto transport rates to Flower Mound may fluctuate with Texas’s seasons. Summer months often see higher demand and prices, while winter might offer more competitive rates.
- Fuel Prices: As a major factor in transport costs, fluctuating fuel prices in Texas can impact your car shipping quote to or from Flower Mound.
- Delivery Timeframe: If you need expedited shipping to Flower Mound, it will cost more than standard delivery times. Flexible pickup and delivery dates can help reduce costs.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Flower Mound car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open car shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find locations near major highways like I-35E or SH 121. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall car shipping price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before transport. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during shipping.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of pickup and delivery dates. The more flexible you are, the better options you’ll have for auto transport to or from Flower Mound, TX. Consider nearby locations like Grapevine or Lewisville for potential cost savings.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer. Shipping a car during off-peak times can often result in better rates for Flower Mound car transport services.

Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“The experience with Sherpa was wonderful. We contacted different auto transport companies. Sherpa answered a bunch of questions I had that other people couldn`t answer. They were competitive in their pricing too. It was less than I thought it was going to be. When you look at the bad reviews of different companies, you always find out that it`s a bait-and-switch price thing. It scares you a little bit. But Sherpa`s price guarantee alleviated a lot of that. Within a half hour of agreeing with Sherpa, they had a driver assigned. The driver called me up the day before. He told me he was likely to make it out the next morning, but there was a chance he would be there that night and asked if that would be a problem. I told him it wouldn`t be. They picked up the car earlier than we had expected. But we were prepared to do it. The driver was pleasant. He was able to communicate and got the car off the truck. The car came three days before it was anticipated. The driver called the day before to let me know and pinpointed a time. Around that time, he called me up and asked if I could meet him at his location which I did. The car came off perfectly. I`m very happy with their services. When you read about these types of companies that are middlemen like Sherpa, it`s a scary process `cause you hear all kinds of horror stories. But Sherpa was able to relax me, calm me down, and had a flawless pick-up and delivery. The group that Sherpa contracted with was a company called Umbrella. Through emails and communications with both Umbrella and Sherpa, I had the driver`s contact information the whole time. I was clearly led through perfectly. They allowed us extra weight in the car, but we didn`t need any of it. I was floored with how well things went, especially when you consider the weather patterns that were going through East Coast and through the Midwest in early January. Instead of taking the north route, they took the south route through Texas and Arizona.”
“I had an Audi that I bought from my brother that was in Texas and we had to move it from Longview to Galt, California. I reached out to Sherpa and I didn`t have any problems. Their rep told me what to expect and who they`d be in contact with. So, I gave my brother`s information then they were in contact with him and made all the arrangements on that end. They told me in advance the paperwork that we would need, so I made sure that he had all that in place and it went pretty smoothly. It was a little pricey and I don`t think a lot of people could pay that. Their service also cost me a little more than what I wanted to pay but I needed to get that car out of his property and get it over here. So, I went ahead and paid for it. Their price lock promise was very adequate and it worked well because we weren`t sure exactly the dates that they were going to be able to get a driver. We ended up waiting three months before we finally were able to obtain a driver who could pick it up in Texas and come over to this direction. So, I was pleased that I didn`t have to worry about any additional expenses. They gave me the number of the driver, so I was able to contact him. He also contacted me several times enroute to let me know where he was at that approximate time because I was making sure I was home when he`d be arriving. So, that worked out really well. For the delivery, I was concerned that I would have to go to a larger location to try to go and pick it up somewhere. But they drove right up to my house here. They unloaded a couple others then unloaded mine and drove it into the driveway for me. I paid for an open trailer and I got exactly what I paid for. And I saw how they moved other vehicles to load and unload and I was very pleased with it. Their customer service reps were also very efficient and I like that I didn`t have to keep calling them. They were on top of things, so for me as a professional.”
“I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm! The carrier was friendly and customer service was excellent! The street where he picked up the car was too narrow for his truck, so he parked the truck, walked to the pick up address, checked out the car, filled out the BOL and drive by daughter`s car to the truck and loaded it! Great work Horizon Carriers and superb vetting process on the part of Sherpa Auto Transport for choosing only the best of the best for their customers! This was our first time transporting a car so we were nervous, but Sherpa made it a truly stress-free experience!!! Thank you for caring about your customers and putting their needs first!”
“I retained Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a SUV from TX to NJ. I opted for a flexible 5 day window pick up and open transport. They weren’t the cheapest but they weren’t the most expensive either. I went with them because they had a $100k cargo insurance and provided reimbursement for a car cleaning 2 weeks from drop off. The deposit and final payment was all relayed by credit card, which was convenient. After a deposit was made, they sent my order to dispatch to match with a driver. I made the initial order 2 weeks before pick up and was assigned a driver a few days before the start of my pick up window. The driver contacted me the night before pick up of their expected arrival time. When they arrived, we walked around the car to confer the condition of the vehicle and they took the vehicle to load onto their trailer. It took about a week and they had a local driver drop off at the destination who also walked through the condition of the car. It was nice, simple, easy, and they were communicative. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary!”
“I sent emails to two companies and Sherpa was the only one that called me. The other one just sent me emails. So Sherpa developed a relationship with me over the phone and they seemed like they could do it. They were confident. The gentleman told me everything and they really seemed to have better customer service. The coordinator was very knowledgeable, very calm and very helpful. I talked to another coordinator and it was the same thing. I was not there for the pickup and delivery, which was another reason why it was so important to have a good relationship. I had a surrogate and they said both the pickup and the delivery went really smoothly and the people were very professional. The final price was exactly what they said it would be. They have a very good system. They seemed to know what they were doing. They were honest and straightforward. That extra touch of making a phone call to me, as opposed to just emails, was really helpful.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Flower Mound, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
