Factors that Affect Auto Transport Costs

  • Book Early. We recommend booking car transport at least two weeks out.
  • Be Flexible. Certain days of the week & time of the year can be more expensive.
  • Enclosed auto transport vs open car shipping. Special vehicles require a fully enclosed car shipping trailer. Enclosed trailers offer protection & peace of mind, but are significantly more expensive.
  • Vehicle Size. Full size Pickup Trucks cost more to ship than Compact Cars.
  • Location, Location, Location. For your convenience, we strive to make all of shipments door to door. However, if you are in a remote location, consider selecting a location closer to an interstate to help reduce your car shipping cost.

What our Euless customers say about Sherpa:

Consumer Affairs
★★★★★

“The guy I was dealing was Jason and it was very, very good. The quote was little more than one of the other companies, but at least, I knew it was in good hands. The delivery was good. The driver didn`t have great English, but he knew what he was doing. He came, delivered and gave me notice. So it was good.”

Consumer Affairs

“Working with Sherpa was good. The car got here on time. The pickup and delivery went really fast.”

“I had a very good experience with Sherpa and Kate! Kate had solutions not excuses. Yes, I did pay for expedited service, but she got a carrier assigned the same day and saved the day! The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th.”

Factors that affect Euless Car Shipping Prices

Car Transport Distance
Pickup and Drop Off Location

Vehicle Size
  • Distance: The length of the journey from or to Euless, TX significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
  • Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Euless. Enclosed transport, while about 50% pricier, offers extra protection from Texas’s occasional severe weather but is usually only necessary for high-value or classic cars.
  • Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship than compact cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
  • Route Popularity: Euless’s proximity to major highways like SH 183 and SH 360 can help reduce costs. Popular routes to/from the Dallas-Fort Worth area often have competitive pricing due to high demand.
  • Seasonal Factors: Summer months and January typically see higher car shipping prices due to increased demand. Euless’s mild winters generally don’t significantly impact shipping costs, but occasional ice storms can cause delays.
  • Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower prices for car shipping services. Rush or guaranteed delivery to Euless will increase costs.
  • Vehicle Condition: Inoperable vehicles cost more to ship as they require special equipment for loading and unloading in Euless.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

  • Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major highways like I-820 or SH 183. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your overall car shipping price.
  • Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues during auto transport.
  • Be flexible: Offering date and location flexibility for your Euless car shipping can lead to better options and potential savings.
  • Consider seasonality: Auto transport rates may vary based on the time of year. Shipping during off-peak seasons could result in lower costs for your Euless car transport.

Euless, Texas Vehicle Transport FAQs

How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Euless?

See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Euless. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Euless?

Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.

How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Euless?

The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.

How do I pay for my auto transport to Euless?

No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.

We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?

Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.

Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?

Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.

Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?

Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?

Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.

What types of vehicles can you transport?

We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.

Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Euless

When planning car shipping to or from Euless, TX, it’s crucial to consider the seasonal weather patterns that can impact your auto transport experience. Euless experiences hot summers and mild winters, which can affect your car shipping strategy throughout the year.

During the scorching summer months, temperatures in Euless can soar above 95°F (35°C). If you’re shipping a car during this time, consider these tips:

  • Place a sunshade under the windshield to protect the interior from intense heat.
  • Remove any heat-sensitive items from the vehicle to prevent melting or damage.
  • Schedule your car transport for early morning or evening to avoid peak heat hours.

While winters in Euless are generally mild, occasional cold snaps and icy conditions can occur. Keep these factors in mind when using car shipping services during winter:

  • Ensure your vehicle is winterized, but avoid using snow chains as carriers can’t transport vehicles with them installed.
  • Choose pickup and drop-off locations on level ground to prevent issues with icy inclines.
  • Remove any liquids that might freeze and expand, potentially causing damage.

“We were moving from Chicago land area to LA so I needed to ship my car. I reached out to an open site, which gave me a million people. I started reading and they were just relentless. I was not moving for a while. I had no idea if it was gonna cost $1,000 to ship my car or $5,000. I was just trying to get estimates. My move was never an exact date to pick up the car. I was waiting on selling our house and a bunch of other things. I started to find someone again and Sherpa came up highly recommended. It had great reviews and a very competitive price. They didn`t inundate me. It was like, “When I figure it out, I`ll let you know.” Another issue was when we were moving and getting ourselves out here, we didn`t have an address because we didn`t find a house yet. Sherpa picked up the car and we didn`t even 100% know where we were looking to move to yet. That was pretty interesting. I had to update them. We were dealing with two people and they were fine. They understood and were very easy to talk to. Someone then called and said they were with Sherpa and were picking up the car. They were great. It took four days from start to finish. They even came in a day early than they said. The driver would text me every time like where he was gonna be, where he`s at now, and when he was gonna get there. He texted me the day before saying he was going to be in the vicinity at around X amount of time. It was perfect. The driver knew where we are going and dropping off my car was super easy. He was at the mall and it was great because he said he might be running late. I was having dinner with friends. I told the driver to let me know when he got there and I would run out and give him my keys. He kept me in the loop the entire time. We had snow so that was an issue. It was the same thing going in. We had to go a little further but it was not a big deal. He was right on like what time to pick up so that was fine. My husband said the car was gonna come washed but it didn`t. The car arrived really dirty but that didn`t bother me. I just did that drive so I understood. I was driving from Chicago to here. I went through a windstorm or tornadoes through Oklahoma, snow and fall staff, and a sandstorm somewhere in Texas. It definitely was a lot of debris. On the whole, call direct and book Sherpa. It was a no-brainer. You put your stuff in and they come.”

“My daughter was moving from New Jersey to California. We had to use Sherpa, and it was an amazing experience. The last time she moved from Texas to New Jersey, we used a different transport and it was a nightmare. Her car got damaged and it was just off. They weren`t there when they said they were gonna be there. But as far as Sherpa, when they said they were gonna be there, they were there. They picked up the car when they said they would. They dropped it off when they said they would. The car was in the same condition that it left. Nothing happened to it. I would definitely use Sherpa again. If I decide to move across the country to California to be near my daughter, I would use Sherpa to transport my car. When my daughter moved a couple years ago, we looked through a lot of different transport companies. We remember Sherpa`s having such a great rating, and so my daughter really investigated all their companies. She said, “If they can find a driver, I definitely wanna use Sherpa.” The price was reasonable too. Another place she wanted to use was $2,500. They said it`s gonna cost this amount of dollars to ship the car, and that was exactly what it cost to ship the car, which is the way it should always be. It wasn`t more or less. So, between the price and the quality of the service, we were very pleased. The customer service at Sherpa always returned our phone calls promptly. In fact, they gave us a certain amount of time that it would take to retain a driver. It was two days later or the next day, and we had a driver that was gonna take her car out to California. It was quicker than we thought it would be. He also dropped it off. The last time we did the transport, when they brought it back to New Jersey, they refused to come into my neighborhood, which does have a wide street. She had to meet the driver somewhere. Here with Sherpa, they came in right in front of my house and picked up the car. When my daughter was out in California, she said they came right in front of her apartment and dropped off the car. The car was in the same condition it left. There was white on it because apparently, he went through a snow storm. Sherpa was reliable. They were nice and friendly and helpful.”

“I called Sherpa Auto Transport and I got somebody. It was a person who spoke English. That made me happy because I felt we were communicating. And we had a discussion. He told me how it all worked and how much it would cost. We talked about dates. And somehow they got back to me. They set it up. It was very smooth. They told me there would be a driver. Somebody said he would call. I got anxious about the whole thing. Because I`m in the middle of Manhattan. My car is in a garage. I can drive it where they need to. But how would I do it in the middle of Manhattan? The driver called me up and said, “I`ll be there in the blah, blah, minutes”. And I went over to the garage and got the car. And I thought, “What am I going to do? I`m going to have to park it somewhere. And then I`m gonna find a parking space.†It ended up being nothing at all. So, I waited on 55th Street. Second Avenue goes from one end of Manhattan all the way down to the other end. It goes from north to south. And he said, “I`ll meet you at 54th in a second. I`ll have my transport there.” I drove over there. And there he was with the transport. He got out. And we looked at the car. We had a chit-chat about it. And he said, “All right. See you later.” He got in the car. Drove it on the transport. I turned around, took a picture of it and left. The driver was a sweetheart. He picked the car up on a Friday. And it was delivered on a Tuesday. Whoever did it in Texas was a different person than I talked to, who was the ultimate driver. He called her a half an hour. He said he was 10 miles out. But she didn`t answer the phone. So, the driver called me. And I called her. And he called her. She lives in Austin, Texas. She lives more out in the suburbs. And she said, he didn`t want to bring it on her street because there were too many trees. She said, “I just jogged over to the, you know. It wasn`t very far.” She sent me a thing and said, “There`s this little ding here.” I said, “Oh, that`s an old one.” There was nothing. And he gave her the keys. She signed it, she gave him the check, and that was that. It was very smooth. They had their stuff together. The car got there in no time. Sherpa was great. Everybody was professional. I would recommend them.”

“I only give this review 5 stars since Sherpa`s part in shipping my car out to Texas from D.C was perfect. The actual rest of the process wasn`t as pleasant. Sherpa was phenomenal. Phil who set up my shipping was entirely professional and friendly. He even talked hockey with me and was very personable. He was patient and responsive as I asked questions about the process. I set up the dates well in advance. The time came for the car to be shipped and even though they were unable to secure a driver before the scheduled pickup time, the car was eventually picked up. Again, this is not at all Sherpa`s fault as they clearly stated from the beginning they cannot guarantee pickup dates. Now comes the unpleasant part. The driver texted me saying “Call me” and I called him and he told me when he should arrive. It was fine, and despite the fact that the car didn`t come until a day later than promised, I know he was busy and doing the best he can. Having to pick up my car in a Walmart parking lot late at night would`ve been a mess had my roommate not been able to give me a ride. The front license plate was missing and after pointing it out the driver screwed it back on. No problems. I paid him in cash, did a brief inspection of the car (again late at night in a sketchy parking lot) and he was on his way. I got into my car and some stuff had been moved around, but to my surprise the back two tires were low on air. The back left was missing a cap, which lead me to believe he had let the air out to prevent rocking or something in the transport vehicle. I got them filled up the next day and the people at the shop suggested I get them looked at. I went to a tire shop and the staff, including the manager, discovered large gashes in my two rear tires. It appears they were chained down inside the vehicle and the chains had worn down and completely ruined one of my tires. They said they had never seen anything like it before. The company managed to patch one, but I had to replace the other. I sent Sherpa the photos in order to insure this did not happen to any other customers and they sent them to the trucking company so they can “decide what they want to do.” None of this is a knock on Sherpa, I just feel there needs to be more accountability for the drivers. They should explain exactly how the car is being secured and not make you meet them in a dark parking lot. Sherpa claims they vet their drivers, but this one was unacceptable. It is a shame, because Sherpa was so amazing in every way and I was very impressed at how their manager reached out to me concerning the damage. I would have used Sherpa again, but now I will just drive my car myself because I don`t know how the diver will handle my vehicle. If you have to ship your car I would absolutely recommend Sherpa, but make sure you know everything you can about how your car is being handled. I had mine fully inspected before it was picked up and the shape it arrived in was truly unacceptable. Thank you again to Sherpa for everything.”

“I am truly grateful I found Sherpa Auto Transport. This was my first time arranging transportation and needless to say it was really overwhelming. I went online and found so many companies, but just had no idea how the process even worked. I contacted some and got quotes from a lot of them, but it was just frustrating because I wasn`t convinced by any. Of course, I read reviews and spoke with a few companies. Some of which were nice and other not so much. I just couldn`t decide which company to hire. What made up my mind was that Sherpa was the only one that actually took the time to explain how the process worked. They were extremely nice and patient with me. I needed to transport two vehicles from Texas to Florida in a very short period of time and not only were they able to find a driver, the price was reasonable. I also must say the driver was friendly and helped out with the inspection, he also kept in touch and delivered right on time as he promised. Felt confidant that my vehicles would arrive safe and they did. If I ever need car transport again I will book with Sherpa and I definitely recommend them!!”

What is Car Shipping?

Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Euless, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.

About the Car Shipping Industry

Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
