Factors that affect Bethlehem Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from Bethlehem, PA. Longer distances typically result in higher prices, but the cost per mile often decreases for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to Bethlehem. Enclosed carriers offer extra protection but are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, generally cost more to ship to Bethlehem due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Season: Auto transport prices to Bethlehem can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January often see higher rates due to increased demand.
- Route Popularity: Bethlehem’s proximity to major highways like I-78 and Route 22 can affect pricing. More frequent routes typically offer more competitive rates.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Bethlehem car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open car shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find locations near major interstates like I-78 or Route 22. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of pickup and delivery dates. The more flexible you are, the better chances of securing a cost-effective auto transport option to or from Bethlehem, PA.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer. Shipping your car during off-peak times can result in lower rates for Bethlehem car shipping services.

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Bethlehem?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Bethlehem. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Bethlehem?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Bethlehem?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Bethlehem?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. When planning car shipping to or from Bethlehem, PA, it’s crucial to consider the seasonal weather and climate factors that can impact your auto transport experience. Bethlehem experiences all four seasons, each bringing unique challenges for car shipping services.
In winter, Bethlehem often sees heavy snowfall and icy conditions. If you’re shipping a car during this time:
- Remove snow tires or chains before transport, as carriers can’t move vehicles with these installed.

- Avoid leaving items that may freeze and expand in the car, such as canned beverages or liquid medications.
During summer, temperatures can soar. When using car transport services in warmer months:
- Place a sunshade under the windshield to protect the interior from heat damage.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from the vehicle to prevent melting or warping.
Bethlehem’s location near several colleges means peak times for car shipping often align with the academic calendar. To avoid delays and potentially higher costs:
- Plan your auto transport a few weeks before or after the start and end of semesters.
- Book your car shipping well in advance during these busy periods.
By considering these seasonal factors, you can ensure a smoother car shipping experience to or from Bethlehem, PA. Always consult with your chosen car shipping company for specific advice tailored to your situation and the current season.
Car Shipping for College Students in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

By planning ahead and utilizing reliable car shipping services, you can ensure a smooth transition to college life in Bethlehem.
Reviews from our Pennsylvania Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Pennsylvania customers:
“Sherpa was absolutely phenomenal. I was doing the auto transport for my sister-in-law who was moving from Colorado to Pennsylvania. She`s wasn`t in the best frame of mind, so we did all of the work to get Sherpa to do this. We made the phone call in November and the car was being picked up in December. Sherpa managed to find somebody who was going to pick up the car, and they were all set up and ready to get there in December. They were booked, but that night, my sister-in-law called and said that she was getting overwhelmed and we needed to cancel. So, we cancelled, paid the cancellation fee, and it was no big deal. The following day, my sister-in-law changed her mind and we re-upped the contract. However, there was a computer glitch in the system and it didn`t back the previous company out of the contract with us, so when we re-upped, we then had two active contracts. Two companies were gonna show up at different days to try to take our car. Sherpa had no idea because the company was the one who needed to know that they were no longer supposed to be coming, and they somehow were never notified. The company showed up and got the car, but it was on a totally different day than we were told they would be coming because it was the original date. Sherpa did all of the leg work. They contacted the people and met with the driver to make sure it was legit. They also refunded the cancellation fee because technically, we got the first contract. They called us every step of the way. They went above and beyond even though the mistake was caused by us cancelling.”
“The people from Sherpa acted very professionally, and explained everything in detail that I had questions about, the whole process of how the car is picked up and how it`s transported. They gave me a quote, they followed up with an email of the quote, and there was no pressure at all. The vehicle went from Pennsylvania to California and they gave me a window of time. They said it was either gonna be picked up on a Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Due to heavy traffic in Washington, D. C., they couldn`t make it on Wednesday night, but they made it first thing on Thursday morning. The driver got out and checked the car over. We signed the paperwork with damages, dents or scrapes. Then he loaded the car on the truck and off he went. It was delivered earlier than expected, which wasn`t a problem at all. We thought it was going to be delivered sometime in the middle of the next week, but they got there in like three days. So, the drop-off was very easy and quick. There was no problems with the car when it arrived there.”
“A friend told us about Sherpa four years ago, and we`ve been using them ever since. They`re the broker for other shippers, and I don`t think we`ve ever gone to the same mover any time. It`s always been some new one, and they worked off the date that we needed them. We have moved cars from California to Houston a couple times, and Houston to Pennsylvania, and then Pennsylvania to California. Sherpa offers convenience, very good prices, and the service has been incredible. We`ve used them seven times, and pickup and delivery could not have been better. We just moved two cars, one out of Houston and one out of Pennsylvania. Each pickup was as simple as it could be, and the drop-off was at the house where they`re getting delivered, so we can`t complain. In Houston, I dropped the car off on Tuesday afternoon, and it was here at the house Thursday night. It was unbelievable.”
“I am extremely satisfied with Sherpa Auto Transport and recommend them to all. I used them to transport my car from Bradenton, Florida to Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This was the first time I shipped my car and I couldn`t be more satisfied. They clearly explained the process to me and were friendly and professional. My car was picked up on time and delivered back to PA in 2 days. They provided timely and thorough communication throughout the entire process. I will definitely use them again.”
“I would definitely recommend Sherpa Auto Transport. Marvin, was very courteous, patient and helpful with getting me set up with a driver. I needed to transport my son’s Toyota Camry from Philadelphia, PA to Phoenix, AZ. I spoke with Marvin early in the morning, a driver reached out to me before noon the same day. The driver was very nice. He emailed me the Bill of Lading and also provided link to track my vehicle from when it was picked up to when it arrived in AZ. He delivered the vehicle earlier than expected. I will be referring them.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Bethlehem, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Pennsylvania. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
