What our Norman customers say about Sherpa:
“Sherpa lived up to its 4.9 star rating when I inquired about transporting a vehicle. My wife and I did something we’d never done before and purchased our personal vehicle in a state 1200 miles from home so now what? The dealership did not offer shipping so now we were about to embark on another first, arranging our own shipping. After doing our due diligence we went with Sherpa Auto Transport. We spoke with three different reps throughout our experience all equally knowledgeable about the company they represented, locked in prices for the mileage of transport as well as insurance and types of services available and the contractors they use. I had contact information for the contractor for our transport and even the drivers information. The bill of lading was electronic and professional, I received an email after delivery before the driver left the drop off location. Heck Sherpa even offered to reimburse us up to $20 for a car wash if you happened to pick up some dust, dirt or pollen along the way. That kind of customer service just makes good sense in my book! It just may make the next long distance purchase like this a little less complicated and lot less stressful. Much appreciated, Dennis & Robbin Enid Oklahoma“
“Reviewed and contacted several auto transport co, was not happy with any of the reviews or conversation I had with the reps. (First time having cars shipped). The quotes changed constantly, and reps were eager to get credit card info. Reach out to Sherpa and admit was a little skeptic because they answer all my questions, explain the process thoroughly and gave a binding quote which the other transport co. did not do. Sherpa rep was very patience and honest when answering questions and did not rush me to make a decision. The next day I decide to go with Sherpa. The carrier reached out the same day and pick up vehicle less than 24 hrs after I contacted Sherpa. Carrier gave delivery date of 2-4 days from Oklahoma to the Washington DC area. Received vehicles in 3 days (unbelievable because the weather was so severe on the East Coast). I am truly satisfied with Sherpa and the carrier and will used them again. Lastly, Sherpa offer multi discount through rebate and free car wash up to $20. I have submitted the car was receipt and BOL.”
“I have to say Sherpa Auto transport did a great job guiding me through our first auto transport from CA to FL. I had questions, I had concerns and I had a great deal of anxiousness with the whole industry after reading so many horror stories. Sherpa followed through on what was promised and any time I emailed or called they were there for me. The trucking company that ultimately handled the car was GREAT! GCRB Express and their driver beat the hurricane! Our car was scheduled to go through the pan handle and into Florida just as Idalia was arriving. I put an Airtag in our car to keep track of it and well lets just say I was shocked to see the driver haul ass and beat the hurricane. I would have been absolutely ok if he would have stayed put somewhere but he assured me that he was ok and wanted to get home before things got bad. He did ! great experience all around.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Norman Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Norman, OK significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size: Larger vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and affordable option for car shipping to or from Norman. Enclosed transport offers extra protection but costs about 50% more and may have longer delivery times.
- Season: Summer months and January tend to have higher car shipping rates due to increased demand. Norman’s hot summers and occasional winter storms can affect pricing and availability.
- Location Accessibility: Norman’s proximity to I-35 and I-40 can help keep costs down. However, pickups or deliveries in more remote areas of Oklahoma may increase prices.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship. Inoperable cars require special equipment for loading, increasing the cost.
- Timeframe: Flexible pickup windows (typically 5 business days) offer the most cost-effective option. Expedited shipping will increase the price.
- Route Popularity: Norman’s location along major trucking routes can affect prices. More frequent routes often have more competitive rates.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping a car to or from Norman, OK. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Norman car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more cost-effective than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility and lower rates for most vehicles.
- Select strategic locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find pickup and drop-off points near major highways like I-35 or US-77. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your rate.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates and options for your Norman, OK auto transport.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer when demand for car shipping services is high. Winter months may offer lower rates for shipping a car to or from Norman.
- Opt for terminal-to-terminal service: While Sherpa doesn’t offer this option, it’s worth noting that some companies provide lower rates for terminal-to-terminal transport compared to door-to-door service.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Norman?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.

No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. Reviews from our Oklahoma Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Oklahoma customers:
“The quote was a little higher than other folks but the reviews are so good that we decided to go with them and I’m glad we did. The communication was largely good and the fellow who picked up the car was a really nice guy. He did an excellent job and it was very timely. The one issue we had with him was the car was picked up around 6:00 p.m. and I had tried to make clear that it should be delivered not before the next day. But he drove straight up to Norman that very night and delivered it. It was unexpected and the people on the other end didn’t expect a delivery that evening, so they had to scramble to accommodate it. But it worked out all right and I’m happy enough that I’ll use them again. It’s just we have to be clear on when this is gonna be delivered and they need to follow through with that.”
“My car was delivered safely and quickly half way across the country. I’m glad I chose this company and would definitely do so again if I ever needed to. The price was very affordable and the service was awesome throughout this experience!”
“We were very happy with our experience, the car was delivered earlier than we expected, with no damage. We ended up paying a bit more than was expected $1200 to ship a car from San Diego to Oklahoma, But we had no surprise charges at the end when the driver dropped the car off.(which has happened to us before with a different company). The car shipping business I’ve come to learn is quite complicated (brokers, carriers, etc), and Sherpa was very communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. I’d use them again.”
“Awesome trustworthy company. They were able to transport my daughter’s car from California to Oklahoma just as they promised. And treated her to a free carwash. I would definitely use this company in the future if every needed again. They go above and beyond to make sure everything goes well from start to finish. Thank you very much for keeping your word and making this process enjoyable.”
“I was glad that I chose Sherpa Auto Transport to transport my Buick from Utah to Oklahoma. Sherpa was quick and efficient at answering my questions, finding a driver, and making pick up and delivery times. Once I agreed on the terms, the pick up was just a few days after. There was frequent communication during the entire six days. The car arrived without any scratches or difficulties. They carry sufficient insurance. The driver was courteous, professional and answered all my questions. I am so glad that I chose to have Sherpa transport the car rather than me driving it during this winter.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Norman, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Oklahoma. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
