What our Statesville customers say about Sherpa:
“Sherpa provided a premier service as per their long-term reputation both online and from local movers. They did a very good job and I was very pleased with the service provided.”
“Most transport companies are pretty much like Uber – they set up the drivers but don’t have much control over those drivers or what they do. I’ve shipped several vehicles with other companies and usually get a call that a driver needs an extra $100 from what was contracted. Sherpa was awesome. Price is guaranteed not to change and there were no surprises there. They worked to meet my schedule needs and met them. Driver was thorough and communicated well.”
“I had a positive experience with Sherpa. They weren’t the least expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. I paid the deposit on a Monday afternoon and my trucker picked up on Wednesday and the car delivered from NC to FL on Thursday. The transport was smooth and without issue. One recommendation for Sherpa is to send a ‘thank you’ and ‘how did we do’ follow up email after the transport is complete.”

Factors that affect Statesville Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Statesville, NC significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size: Larger vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier. This is particularly relevant for those moving to or from Statesville, as many residents own larger vehicles suitable for the area’s varied terrain.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Statesville. Enclosed transport, while more expensive, offers additional protection and may be preferred for luxury or classic cars, especially during Statesville’s occasional severe weather events.
- Season: Car shipping prices can fluctuate based on the time of year. Summer months and January tend to see higher rates due to increased demand. Statesville’s mild climate allows for year-round shipping, but rates may vary slightly during peak seasons.
- Route Popularity: Statesville’s proximity to major highways like I-40 and I-77 can positively impact shipping costs. More frequent routes often result in lower prices due to increased carrier availability.
- Delivery Timeframe: Expedited shipping to or from Statesville will cost more than standard delivery options. Planning ahead can help you secure more affordable rates.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. If your car isn’t running, inform your auto transport company as it may require special equipment, affecting the price.
Understanding these factors can help you better estimate and potentially reduce your car shipping costs to or from Statesville, NC. Reviews from our North Carolina Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied North Carolina customers:
“Upfront guaranteed delivery. Great communication. Guaranteed pickup in 4 day pickup window. Here is why you should go with Sherpa. My vehicle was picked up on a Tuesday in North Carolina and delivered at my driveway on Thursday to Colorado. 1700 miles in two days, no issues with the vehicle at all. (High Line Transport) was the driver. He kept great communication from pickup to dropoff. Sherpa made me feel comfortable explaining the process in detail, I why I should go with them instead of the other companies. I am glad I listened. Saved a lot of trouble vetting other companies.”
“You can`t go wrong with Sherpa! I admit that I initially placed an order with a different company — two companies actually. Neither could find a driver to transport my brand new Genesis GV70 from NC to NV in an enclosed trailer. I even paid the first company in full, and six days later they hadn`t even tried to find a driver. So eight days after buying a car in NC, I called Sherpa. The Sherpa rep explained the process of basically bidding for a space on a truck, and put me on hold while she looked up the current rate. To put it simply, with a low ball rate, the car is going to sit there. A more competitive rate will get it picked up quicker. I asked her point blank how quickly she thought she could find a driver. She said there was a 96% chance of picking up the car within 4 days. Because I placed the order before noon EDST, she was able to get the order posted that same day. Mind you, this was two days before the July 4th weekend, during a pandemic. Just over 24 hours later I received a call from Mavistar who had accepted the order. And 24 hours after that I received a personal text from the Mavistar driver who confirmed he had picked up my car and would be updating me on his progress as he drove across the country. This driver was AWESOME. He texted or called me every night and updated me on his ETA. Six days after I placed my order, my car was sitting in my driveway in pristine condition. You get what you pay for. If you want budget-level customer service, go with a different company. Sherpa prides itself on doing business the right way, and that they did! I couldn`t be happier with them.”
“I researched about 10 or so transporters for my vehicle. I needed a classic car shipped from NC to NY. Sherpa was one of the top transport companies I came across while doing my research. As anyone should be, I was skeptical as I had never done this type of blind transaction. After talking to a Rep, I decided to book with SHERPA. I will say that I am 1000000% satisfied. Everything was up front. No hidden gimmicks or fees. They picked up and delivered my vehicle in the time frame they said they would. My car was delivered with no issues WHATSOEVER. I may never need another Auto transport. If I ever did, I would definitely use SHERPA again. Hats off to you guys.”
“For my 1st time shipping my car I had a great and easy experience. I moved from CA to NC and scheduled my shipment maybe 3 weeks to 1 month in advance. The company provided me with my actual drivers contact information, and he was very attentive to my needs and communicated projected pick up dates. He allowed me to fill the car, trunk and inside as long as nothing was visible over window lines. The day of drop off, the only negative was the time kept changing and it was tough having to be in a specific area to wait for him. The drop off was about 3 hours after expected, but my driver agreed to change locations to meet me where ever I’d be. The car was in original condition,, no issues. Would use again, if needed to. Company also offered a free car was and give a small rebate for booking online.”
“This is the 4th year using Sherpa and I could not be happier with them. They provide a 5-day pick-up date but I have yet to wait the whole 5 days. Last Sunday I called to get a quote, and by Tuesday, the car was picked up and by Thursday my son`s car shipped from NC to RI! They are quick to get shipments completed and their communication throughout the whole process is incredible. The drivers are also awesome, I was constantly getting updates from them. Don`t be fooled by other transportation companies, they will give you an estimate a lot lower but will result in a horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and don`t bother with the other companies, Sherpa is honestly the best for your transportation needs.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Statesville, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of North Carolina. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
