What our Archdale customers say about Sherpa:
“You can’t go wrong with Sherpa! I admit that I initially placed an order with a different company — two companies actually. Neither could find a driver to transport my brand new Genesis GV70 from NC to NV in an enclosed trailer. I even paid the first company in full, and six days later they hadn’t even tried to find a driver.”
“I got quotes from many companies and while I found a couple of the largest ones to have good reviews on one site, they had very mixed reviews on Facebook or Yelp. This scared me away, which led me to Sherpa. They were SUPER FAST at getting the car delivered, and this is without having to pay hundreds of dollars extra for a fast delivery. I thought the car was going to be ready a day later than it was, but when I found out it was ready earlier, I texted them at about 10 AM ET. They were able to get it picked up in NC that same afternoon, which was on a Thursday.”
“Most transport companies are pretty much like Uber – they set up the drivers but don’t have much control over those drivers or what they do. I’ve shipped several vehicles with other companies and usually get a call that a driver needs an extra $100 from what was contracted. It’s usually right before pickup so you’re forced into it. I’ve had one vehicle dropped off at 3 am on a public road and received a text at 9 am – got to my car just before tow truck arrived. My expectations were low but Sherpa was awesome.”

Factors that affect Archdale Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Archdale, NC significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances typically result in higher prices, but the per-mile rate often decreases for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Archdale. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection for high-value or classic cars against Archdale’s occasional severe weather.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship to or from Archdale due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Season: Car shipping prices to Archdale may fluctuate seasonally. Summer months and January often see higher rates due to increased demand, while spring and fall might offer more competitive pricing.
- Route Popularity: Archdale’s proximity to major highways like I-85 can affect pricing. More frequented routes often have lower costs due to higher carrier availability.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Terminal-to-terminal service is usually cheaper than door-to-door delivery in Archdale. However, the convenience of door-to-door might outweigh the cost savings for many customers.
- Vehicle Condition: Non-running vehicles cost more to ship to or from Archdale as they require special equipment for loading and unloading.
- Timeframe: Flexible delivery dates can lead to lower car shipping costs to Archdale. Rush or guaranteed delivery services typically come at a premium.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Archdale?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Archdale?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Archdale?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Archdale
When scheduling car shipping to or from Archdale, NC, it’s crucial to consider the area’s seasonal weather patterns. Archdale experiences all four seasons, each bringing unique challenges for auto transport.
Spring and Fall: These are ideal times for car shipping services in Archdale. The mild temperatures and lower precipitation make for smooth transport operations. However, be aware of potential thunderstorms, especially in late spring.
Summer: While generally favorable for shipping a car, Archdale’s summers can be hot and humid. If you’re storing items in your vehicle during transport, avoid leaving heat-sensitive items that could melt or warp. Consider using a sunshade to protect your car’s interior.
Winter: This season requires extra precautions when you ship a car to or from Archdale. While snowfall is typically light, ice can be a concern. Ensure pickup and drop-off locations are on level ground to prevent issues with icy inclines. Remove snow tires or chains before transport, as carriers can’t accommodate these.
Peak Seasons: Archdale car shipping can get busier during certain periods:
- August-September and May-June: With nearby universities like High Point and UNC Greensboro, these months see increased demand due to student moves.
- Holiday seasons: November through January often experience higher auto transport traffic.
To avoid peak rates and ensure timely service, consider scheduling your car transport a few weeks before or after these busy periods. By keeping these seasonal factors in mind, you can ensure a smooth and efficient car shipping experience to or from Archdale, NC.
Reviews from our North Carolina Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied North Carolina customers:
“You can’t go wrong with Sherpa! I admit that I initially placed an order with a different company — two companies actually. Neither could find a driver to transport my brand new Genesis GV70 from NC to NV in an enclosed trailer. I even paid the first company in full, and six days later they hadn’t even tried to find a driver. So eight days after buying a car in NC, I called Sherpa. The Sherpa rep explained the process of basically bidding for a space on a truck, and put me on hold while she looked up the current rate. To put it simply, with a low ball rate, the car is going to sit there. A more competitive rate will get it picked up quicker. I asked her point blank how quickly she thought she could find a driver. She said there was a 96% chance of picking up the car within 4 days. Because I placed the order before noon EDST, she was able to get the order posted that same day. Mind you, this was two days before the July 4th weekend, during a pandemic. Just over 24 hours later I received a call from Mavistar who had accepted the order. And 24 hours after that I received a personal text from the Mavistar driver who confirmed he had picked up my car and would be updating me on his progress as he drove across the country. This driver was AWESOME. He texted or called me every night and updated me on his ETA. Six days after I placed my order, my car was sitting in my driveway in pristine condition. You get what you pay for. If you want budget-level customer service, go with a different company. Sherpa prides itself on doing business the right way, and that they did! I couldn’t be happier with them.”
“For my 1st time shipping my car I had a great and easy experience. I moved from CA to NC and scheduled my shipment maybe 3 weeks to 1 month in advance. The company provided me with my actual drivers contact information, and he was very attentive to my needs and communicated projected pick up dates. He allowed me to fill the car, trunk and inside as long as nothing was visible over window lines. The day of drop off, the only negative was the time kept changing and it was tough having to be in a specific area to wait for him. The drop off was about 3 hours after expected, but my driver agreed to change locations to meet me where ever I’d be. The car was in original condition,, no issues. Would use again, if needed to. Company also offered a free car was and give a small rebate for booking online.”
“I had a positive experience with Sherpa. If you are using a transport company please go into it knowing that it is a very aggressive industry. To get a quote you are required to provide your phone number and the various brokers, including Sherpa, will call and/or repeatedly until you tell them you’ve gone with someone else. Please also understand that these are brokers and not truckers. They are not the ones who will physically be transporting your vehicle. All brokers require some sort of deposit up front which you can use a credit card for but the balance due is required in cash or money order or sometimes Zelle due to the trucking company upon delivery. That’s standard. If you pay all by cc you will pay more and all upfront. Sherpa called me on a Sunday. I told the rep I went with someone else. His response was, “Ok. If anything falls through or you need us in the future, please reach out.” He seemed sincere. Well my first broker DID fall through, and based solely on the Sherpa rep’s response I called them back to use them. They weren’t the least expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. I paid the deposit on a Monday afternoon and my trucker picked up on Wednesday and the car delivered from NC to FL on Thursday. I worked with Ivy and she was very knowledgeable and not pushy. She answered all my questions and explained the complete process without coming across as a sales person. The transport was smooth and without issue. One recommendation for Sherpa is to send a “thank you” and “how did we do” follow up email after the transport is complete. One broker sent auto-generated emails with general information about the transport business and things to look out for. Sherpa should do that too. It’s good info to have. I would use Sherpa again if I needed transport.”
“This is the 4th year using Sherpa and I could not be happier with them. They provide a 5-day pick-up date but I have yet to wait the whole 5 days. Last Sunday I called to get a quote, and by Tuesday, the car was picked up and by Thursday my son’s car shipped from NC to RI! They are quick to get shipments completed and their communication throughout the whole process is incredible. The drivers are also awesome, I was constantly getting updates from them. Don’t be fooled by other transportation companies, they will give you an estimate a lot lower but will result in a horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother with the other companies, Sherpa is honestly the best for your transportation needs.”
“I researched about 10 or so transporters for my vehicle. I needed a classic car shipped from NC to NY. Sherpa was one of the top transport companies I came across while doing my research. As anyone should be, I was skeptical as I had never done this type of blind transaction. After talking to a Rep, I decided to book with SHERPA. I will say that I am 1000000% satisfied. Everything was up front. No hidden gimmicks or fees. They picked up and delivered my vehicle in the time frame they said they would. My car was delivered with no issues WHATSOEVER. I may never need another Auto transport. If I ever did, I would definitely use SHERPA again. Hats off to you guys.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Archdale, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of North Carolina. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
