What our Newburgh customers say about Sherpa:
“In a very professional and friendly call the process of shipping a car and Sherpa’s role was explained to me. Very easy to follow and understand. I decided to hire Sherpa and filled out the necessary paperwork. I should mention that this came with a high level of anxiety. I’m rolling the dice on shipping a car with a lot of unknowns. I had flexibility in the pickup and delivery and scheduling was set up accordingly. As the pickup date approached I was contacted by Sherpa with confirmation that they booked a driver. I was told the driver would contact me and we’d arrange the pickup. There were a few hiccups with the communication with the driver and this is where I really appreciated the choice I made with Sherpa. They helped sort out the issues in a very timely, professional, manner and were willing to go so far as to book another driver if my confidence in the shipper they selected was low. I relied on their past positive experience with the shipper and decided to stick with them. I’m glad I did. The driver was very friendly and the entire process was smooth sailing. The pickup and drop off process was quick and without incident. Without question if I ever have the need to ship a car in the future, my choice will be Sherpa. I`m adding 2 pictures showing my daughter`s blue Ford loaded in NY and arriving in CO.”
“It was such a struggle for me to figure out which transport company to choose. I did so much research, read so many horror stories and I couldn`t bear the thought of being amongst the many disappointed persons who felt blindsided by original quotes or by unfulfilled promises from many other transport companies that look for your business. So what I decided on doing was going with my gut and trusting the search I did on the Top 10 best auto transport companies out there…and I went with #1 SHERPA TRANSPORT. I can`t express enough how well informed they were with me..their eagerness to reassure me and their following through with my expectations. My vehicle arrived intact…I was blessed that Sherpa Auto contracted a wonderful carrier…the driver contacted me and arrived on a timely manner and very professional. So all you nervous wrecks out there who question what to do…take it from me ..my satisfaction was 1000% positive!! Thanks Sherpa for your diligence and honesty. By the way, in case you`re wondering I transported a 2014 Ford Focus SE with only 29,000 miles from New York to Pheonix Arizona. My son`s first car while he`s training to become a commercial airline pilot!!”
“I rarely give reviews, but I can`t wait to give Sherpa the rating it deserves on all platform. After weeks of research and decided to place trust on Sherpa to ship my car from NY to CA, they did not fail me. Sherpa really puts convenience and peace of mind over everything. My car arrives cross country in less than a week in perfect condition, and that`s not to mention the student discount and free car wash I am about to get from them. Sure, the price is definitely steep and not as enticing as other shipping companies out there, but it is locked and guaranteed, so you don`t have to worry about the hassle of the bidding business of the car shipping industry. I only had 4 phone calls since I signed up to get my car cross country a week later: one with Sherpa for a confirmation of a carrier, one with the carrier, and two with the carriers when delivery.”

Factors that affect Newburgh Car Shipping Prices
- Distance and Route: The distance between pickup and delivery locations significantly affects car shipping costs to and from Newburgh, NY. Routes along major highways like I-84 and I-87 are typically more cost-effective due to easier access for carriers.
- Transport Type: Open car transport is the most common and affordable option for shipping vehicles to or from Newburgh. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers additional protection from weather and road debris, which can be beneficial during harsh Hudson Valley winters.
- Seasonal Factors: Auto transport prices in Newburgh may fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January tend to see higher demand and prices. Winter weather conditions in the Northeast can also impact shipping costs and timelines.
- Vehicle Size and Condition: Larger or heavier vehicles cost more to ship. Also, inoperable cars require special equipment for loading, increasing the price. Ensure your vehicle is in running condition to keep costs down.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Urban areas like Newburgh are generally more accessible and cost-effective for car shipping than rural locations. Consider meeting your carrier at a more convenient spot if you’re shipping to or from a remote area near Newburgh.
- Flexibility in Timing: Opting for a wider pickup window can lead to more competitive rates. Rush or guaranteed pickup services will increase your car shipping costs.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Newburgh?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. In winter, Newburgh often sees significant snowfall and icy conditions. If you’re planning to ship a car during this time:
- Remove snow tires or chains before transport, as carriers can’t accommodate these.
- Ensure pickup and drop-off locations are on level ground to prevent slipping.

During summer, temperatures can soar. When using car transport services in warmer months:
- Consider placing a sunshade in your car to protect the interior.

It’s also important to note that Newburgh car shipping can be busier during certain times of the year. For instance:
- Late August and early September see increased demand due to college students returning to nearby schools.
- The holiday season (November-January) can be busy with snowbirds heading south.

By keeping these seasonal factors in mind when shipping a car to or from Newburgh, NY, you can ensure a smoother, more efficient auto transport experience. Always communicate with your chosen car shipping provider about any specific concerns related to seasonal conditions in Newburgh.

Reviews from our New York Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied New York customers:
“I called Sherpa Auto Transport and I got somebody. It was a person who spoke English. That made me happy because I felt we were communicating. And we had a discussion. He told me how it all worked and how much it would cost. We talked about dates. And somehow they got back to me. They set it up. It was very smooth. They told me there would be a driver. Somebody said he would call. I got anxious about the whole thing. Because I’m in the middle of Manhattan. My car is in a garage. I can drive it where they need to. But how would I do it in the middle of Manhattan? The driver called me up and said, “I’ll be there in the blah, blah, minutes”. And I went over to the garage and got the car. And I thought, “What am I going to do? I’m going to have to park it somewhere. And then I’m gonna find a parking space.” It ended up being nothing at all. So, I waited on 55th Street. Second Avenue goes from one end of Manhattan all the way down to the other end. It goes from north to south. And he said, “I’ll meet you at 54th in a second. I’ll have my transport there.” I drove over there. And there he was with the transport. He got out. And we looked at the car. We had a chit-chat about it. And he said, “All right. See you later.” He got in the car. Drove it on the transport. I turned around, took a picture of it and left. The driver was a sweetheart. He picked the car up on a Friday. And it was delivered on a Tuesday. Whoever did it in Texas was a different person than I talked to, who was the ultimate driver. He called her a half an hour. He said he was 10 miles out. But she didn’t answer the phone. So, the driver called me. And I called her. And he called her. She lives in Austin, Texas. She lives more out in the suburbs. And she said, he didn’t want to bring it on her street because there were too many trees. She said, “I just jogged over to the, you know. It wasn’t very far.” She sent me a thing and said, “There’s this little ding here.” I said, “Oh, that’s an old one.” There was nothing. And he gave her the keys. She signed it, she gave him the check, and that was that. It was very smooth. They had their stuff together. The car got there in no time. Sherpa was great. Everybody was professional. I would recommend them.”
“Sherpa has a provision where if they cannot get your vehicle picked up for the amount of money that they quoted you, they are going to pay up to a certain amount more without charging you that. I used the service one time, and it was totally trouble-free. I used it the second time, and it was perfect. I’ve used these people now three times and they’re good. They know the product. They explain to you. Everything is also electronic. You are receiving some of the forms electronically, and you sign via email. Then you get a couple of text messages. If I have to move my car back to New York, I would call them. Twice, I was unable to be personally available to pick up the vehicle. I had to give them a different address to deliver the vehicle which was my friend’s house. They worked very well with me. It was also interesting that I got from them an email with a coupon saying in case my vehicle had any dust or dirt from the transportation, I can use the coupon for a free wash for my car.”
“Sherpa Auto Transport’s price was comparable, but their customer service was great. The reps were very polite, friendly, and tried to work with me the best they could. The price lock was a nice feature. And at the time, if I booked, I got a $100 rebate, which was another nice feature. The only thing I didn’t like was there was a very slight difference in price for paying with a credit card. It’s not easy to tell your daughter that’s thousands of miles away to have cash ready. But she said the delivery was fine. It was an hour before they would be there. The person showed up on time, notified her. They offered a voucher to get the car washed. So, she had that done. I submitted the receipt and they took care of it. I was completely satisfied and I’d recommend them.”
“A human answered the phone when I called Sherpa and they were nice to me. They were easy to talk to and communicate with. Some of the other companies were making some promises that couldn’t necessarily be kept. But Sherpa was the kind who would say those things, but they’re not going to make that promise unless they can actually do it. I set the transport up for mother-in-law and although everything was totally smooth and everything got delivered faster than expected, in perfect condition and was totally satisfied, the drivers who showed up didn’t speak any English at all. So, there was a little bit of a communication barrier there, but they worked through it. The cost was exactly what I expected. It was all completely transparent.”
“I liked Sherpa’s responsiveness and their price. The rep and I got in touch with one another and he told me he would find me a carrier and he did. It was also exactly the dates that I needed it done. I didn’t give him a very wide window. So, I was surprised. It all worked out really well. Then, he followed up to make sure. The driver was a really nice guy. He showed up, was very professional, did everything he was supposed to do paperwork-wise, took pictures, talked to me, explained the process, and then he dropped the car off right at my front door. They gave me a window of delivery and it was delivered a day before they thought it would be, which worked out perfectly.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Newburgh, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of New York. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.

Be wary of unusually low quotes or companies that demand large upfront deposits. A reputable car shipping company should provide clear communication throughout the process, from pickup in scenic Newburgh to delivery at the destination.
