Factors that affect Fishers Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Fishers, IN significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Fishers. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection for high-value vehicles against Indiana’s varied weather conditions.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Season: Auto transport prices in Fishers can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January often see higher demand and prices, while spring and fall may offer more competitive rates.
- Route Popularity: Fishers’ proximity to major highways like I-69 and I-465 can affect pricing. More frequented routes often have lower costs due to higher carrier availability.
- Delivery Timeframe: Opting for a flexible pickup window of about five business days is usually the most cost-effective. Expedited shipping to or from Fishers will increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles that can roll, brake, and steer are cheaper to transport. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the cost.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping a car to or from Fishers, IN. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Fishers?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Fishers?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Fishers?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Reviews from our Indiana Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Indiana customers:
“I called a few other car transport companies and they quoted one price, but then they found somebody anywhere from $200 to $300 more. I said, “That`s not acceptable,” and that`s when Sherpa said they would do it. They were very upfront and they guaranteed the price. They said, “This is what it is,” and then when they went to come pick it up, that`s exactly what it was. They were on time too. The first two other car transport companies had delays in trying to find a driver. With Sherpa, I had somebody within a couple hours and the pickup was quickly set up. Not only were they cheaper, but they were fast to respond as well. Also, the driver was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and trustworthy.”
“One of my best friends bought a Camaro from me and I looked up which transport was best recommended for classic cars. Sherpa was at the top of the list. Communication with them was through emails and phone calls with the scheduler through the company. The rep was great and answered all my questions. Once the driver got selected, I was directed to him through phone and text messaging. I got a great driver. I was given a couple of different options for a closed carrier or enclosed carrier and then guaranteed the price that they quoted me. The experience was pretty good.”
“They were very polite and accommodating because I didn`t have an exact date. I was trying to figure out when the truck would be released to me and be able to get it to them. So they stayed flexible with me as I had to bounce days. They worked with me. I communicated with the driver when he was picking the truck up. Then we were able to track the truck. They have trackers on them, so we knew where it was the whole time.”
“I bought a truck in Indiana and I needed to bring it to Texas. Sherpa`s reps were really helpful and their price was very much lower than the ones that we got. The communication was pretty good and the guy that was driving the trailer texted me when he picked up my vehicle. He couldn`t bring my truck to my house because it`s a residential area. So, he met me at an AutoZone. Other than that, the delivery was very on time and my truck arrived in an amazing condition because he came in a little enclosed trailer.”
“When I went on to a lot of different lists or articles that were written, the name Sherpa kept coming up as they were on a list of the most reliable and the most professional. That was a name that repeatedly came up in my search as a credible company. Then when I went in and read the customer reviews, people seemed happy with them. Their customer service was great. The guy I first spoke to gave me a lot of details. He was very professional. I told him that my son`s car was being worked on and I couldn`t really commit at that point because I didn`t know when the car would be ready. It was maybe on Thursday, and I said they`d definitely have it over the weekend. He said, “How about I follow up with you on Monday at four o`clock?” Monday, at four o`clock, the phone rang. He followed up with me. Again, I said the car was not ready yet. He said, “How about I call you tomorrow?” They kept calling but they weren`t calling in an annoying, “We want your business.” If they said four o`clock, they called at four o`clock. Their people were very professional. I never felt pressured. I always got information about, “Your car, either do you want it inside or do you want it outside? And this is what the costs are.” They did say the costs were variable day by day, so the price that he quoted me originally was more than the price I ended up paying. I had nothing but a good experience with Sherpa. I spoke to them the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, thinking that it might take a while to get my car because of the holiday weekend, and the car showed up on Saturday. My son was driving home from college and he had car trouble and we ended up flying him home because Thanksgiving was coming and the car was gonna take 10 days to fix by the time they got the part. My son`s car was packed with all his stuff he was bringing home from college, and when the car got here, all his stuff was in there. It showed up exactly when they said it was. The driver texted me Saturday morning and he said, “I`d like to introduce myself, This is my name. I will be at your home with your car 12:00.” He was there a 12:00. Sherpa even says if you send them a receipt that you got your car washed, they will reimburse you for the cost of the carwash, which we didn`t end up doing just for our own reasons.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Fishers, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Indiana. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
