Note: These figures reflect the past 12 months of Sherpa Auto Transport’s vehicle shipments to or from Nampa, ID. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Nampa Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Nampa, ID significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open auto transport is the most common and affordable option for shipping cars to or from Nampa. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from Idaho’s varied weather conditions, including occasional snow and rain.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks popular in Nampa’s suburban areas, typically cost more to ship due to the space and fuel they require.
- Route Accessibility: Nampa’s proximity to major highways like I-84 can help reduce costs. However, shipping to more remote areas of Idaho may increase prices due to additional time and fuel needed.
- Seasonal Demand: Auto transport prices in Nampa can fluctuate with seasonal demand. Summer months and January often see higher rates due to increased relocation activity.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship as they can be easily loaded. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of auto transport services.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates can lead to more economical car shipping options. Expedited services for urgent Nampa car shipping needs will increase the price.
Understanding these factors can help you estimate the cost of shipping a car to or from Nampa, ID more accurately. Nampa, Idaho Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Nampa?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Nampa. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Nampa?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Nampa?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Nampa?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. - College move-in and move-out periods (typically late August and early May) can increase demand for auto transport.
- Snowbird migration seasons (fall and spring) may affect availability and rates.
To ensure a smooth experience with your car shipping company, consider booking your transport a few weeks before or after these peak times. By planning ahead and taking these factors into account, you can make your Nampa car shipping experience more efficient and cost-effective.
Reviews from our Idaho Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Idaho customers:
“WHAT A WONDERFUL RESULT!! WONDERFUL TRANSPORT FROM Tahoe to Idaho!! IF I EVER NEED ANOTHER TRANSPORT, I WILL BE USING SHERPA AGAIN!!! They were punctual, and courteous. They took great and special care of our 2017 Grand Sport Convertible Corvette, and our 2016 Lifted Jeep Rubicon. They were very detailed from time of pick-up to drop off. Took pics, made you aware if there were any blemishes, or chips or scratches. I have great confidence in them. They came through, unlike the previous company I booked with who didn’t show up, and then cussed me out, for cancelling with them after they couldn’t follow through on the designated time.”
“My car broke down in Idaho. I took it to a garage and they told me that it would take 30 days. I couldn’t afford to stay there for 30 days. So, I did some research online and Sherpa came out on top. There were a lot of reviews on it. I checked out several transport companies, and they stood out. So, I chose them. I did not know Sherpa until I needed a transport company. I wasn’t even sure how the process worked. So, they explained it to me. I wondered why I was getting all these calls from everybody. There is a broker and then they contract with the closest transport company, and it’s a beautiful system. I’m impressed. I set the transport up online and then I got a call. They asked for my information. So, I gave them the information and where the car was and when I wanted it picked up. The other companies would take several days. I needed somebody right away. I spoke to several people. We were going back and forth. When they called me, I said, “Okay, I have to check out some information, but I’ll call you back.” So, when I called back, I spoke to a different person. They were all very nice, very accommodating and professional. I made arrangements for the transport company to pick my car up. We were texting back and forth. “I’m at this location and we’ll pick it up at this time.” I was impressed. I had been in communication with the driver. I left Idaho on a Wednesday. They picked the car up on Thursday and delivered it on Friday. He called me ahead of time and asked me what the neighborhood was like. If he couldn’t get the truck in, then he would just have to park the truck and drive the car to my location. I said, “Well, there’s plenty of room. There’s lots of trucks that come through here.” He just drove up and parked his vehicle. It was huge. It was very long. It was covered, which was something I did not expect. He just opened up the back and pulled out the car and drove it into my driveway. Then he did check and took pictures and made sure everything was as it was when he picked it up. Except for the fact that it was making a terrible sound, it was good. It was just as I left it.”
“Awesome. They contracted with Diesel Auto Transport and our Tundra made it from PA to ID in 2 days in great condition. Very professional and detail oriented. No hidden fees which is what I was worried about. Absolutely would recommend to friends, I’ve heard nightmare stories about other carriers.”
“I picked Sherpa because they were the only ones that answered the phone and said their company name and they have the price lock thing where people aren’t gonna get charged anything extra, because I read a bunch of horror stories about that. The Sherpa guy was nice. They were a bit more than some of the other places, but none of the other guys that answered the phone even said the company they were affiliated with. They were rude on the phone as well. I was skeptical because I read a bunch of reviews. Dealing with auto transport people was interesting, but it all worked out nice. I’m in Meridian, Idaho and Sherpa took the car to Winter Garden, Florida, which is right outside of Orlando. The guy that they contracted got delayed in traffic and showed up later, but he was amazing. He was delivering the car to my daughter. She got off work late at night and he waited for her. Overall, Sherpa did exactly what they said for the price they said they would and they were great people to deal with. The driver is not one of theirs because they contract those guys, but he was over-the-top nice.”
“I researched shipping companies for weeks before I decided on Sherpa. They were very professional and everything they promised was exactly the way they said it would be. They sent me a message every day to keep me updated. The driver was very helpful and worked with me on where to drop off my car. He was very nice and professional. My car was in perfect shape, I was surprised and pleased to get it so quickly. I would definitely recommend Sherpa.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Nampa, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Idaho. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
