What our Winter Park customers say about Sherpa:
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car. Also I’ve been receiving email from Sherpa information about facts what to expect during the time I will get the car till it arrived to my son`s place in Florida.”
“We had two cars to transport from south Florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol.”
“I asked Sherpa for an enclosed container to transport a car versus the open carrier. The first one they got fell through but within two hours, they found another. They picked the car up on Saturday morning and I got it Monday morning. So, I was pleased with that. But what I was more pleased with was them being honest with me. They had good reviews, too and this contract carrier they used did a nice job. My vehicle was transported from Florida to Virginia and I was told when they were going to pick it up.”

Factors that affect Winter Park Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Winter Park, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances typically mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to Winter Park. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from Florida’s intense sun and occasional storms.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship to Winter Park due to the space they occupy and their weight.
- Season: Summer is peak season for car shipping in Winter Park, with many snowbirds returning north. This increased demand can lead to higher prices compared to quieter months.
- Route Popularity: Winter Park’s proximity to Orlando and major highways like I-4 can make it more accessible and potentially less expensive for car shipping than more remote locations.
- Delivery Timeframe: Opting for Sherpa’s standard 5-day pickup window is the most cost-effective choice. Expedited shipping to or from Winter Park will increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Inoperable vehicles cost more to ship to Winter Park as they require special equipment for loading and unloading.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Winter Park?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“At two different times, I spoke to two people who were both very helpful and knowledgeable. Price-wise, Sherpa Auto Transport was the same as everyone. They were all within the same ballpark of each other. But I felt they were more comfortable after speaking to them. Also, I could see why they had the reviews because they were exactly like it was when talking to them. And everything was smooth. They offered a free car wash. Everything was wonderful. I submitted the thing through online, and they sent an email back with the quote. It was a day later, they called to go over a couple of things. I’m in South Florida and the car would go to Boston, and the tires in Florida were not the type of tires I need for winter up north. So, that would cause a delay because we had to wait for the tires to come in. She said, “No problem. I’ll make a note in the system so we can still hold on to the quote we gave you and you don’t lose the price. And as soon as you know when the tires will be in and when you can do this, just let us know.” Once I knew when the tires would be done, I called them back. She guided me on what window to take for pick-up, so it would be there when my daughter got there. She helped me with figuring what would be the best dates for everything. And while I was on the phone with her, she sent me an email which I had to click on and pay the deposit, and she stayed on the phone with me while the whole thing went through to make sure they got it. There were no glitches in their system or on my end. Within a day, she sent me the name of the company that would take the car, gave me all their contact information if I needed anything from them. The pick-up went very well. It was not the driver’s fault that it was pouring rain. I felt bad. Those things happen. In that type of business, it’s not like an airplane where people know what time they would arrive and depart. The driver would get stuck based on whoever is in front of him. He thought he would be there between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and it wound up being more 2 o’clock in the afternoon. I knew he couldn’t get into my neighborhood. So, the company gave me the driver’s direct phone number so I could pre-arrange a pick-up where he could get the truck and be able to get the car. So, between the weather and the rain, it delayed him. The pick-up wound being later than expected. The drop-off, again, was not his fault, the car that was dropped off before us gave the wrong address and did not answer their phone. It was my brother-in-law that handled that and they agreed it would be too dark by the time the driver would be able to bring the car. So, they said they would do it first thing in the morning and they were there at 7:30 with the car.”
“Sherpa’s price lock promise was a good lock in. That was a plus on their side. They were the only ones that I saw that offered it, which might have helped me in that decision besides flipping a few coins. I spoke with the guy who set it all up for me and he sounded nice, professional and sincere, and that was also helpful. I was kept informed of where the car was and when it was expected. I paid Sherpa a $200 down payment to set the date and there was another balance of 13.50. They wanted cash on the barrelhead when I pulled in but my daughter didn’t have the cash. I could put the money in her account and she’d have to take the money out of her account to get the cash. But since I’m paying for it, it was easier that it goes directly to where I want it to go. I sent $50 while the car was en route and Eric, the driver, said it went through. I told them that I’ll do the balance when they get there, after my daughter has checked out the car. And I did. It worked fast. But at first, they were a little hesitant about that and the other people weren’t even giving me much of a choice on that either. Sherpa worked with me with the payment, the pickup and the drop-off. They were always there when I called. It was excellent. I will use them again when I need to get my car back to Winter Garden.”
“When researching companies to ship my 2012 Kia Sorento cross country Sherpa Auto Transport stood out as exceptional–by previous customers. I subsequently chose Sherpa, and they exceeded my expectations! They tell you what to expect throughout the process, and proactively followup with you at every step. Their pricing was reasonable and I even got a promised rebate for providing certain documentation at the conclusion of the shipment. The shipment went perfectly from the advanced price quote, to auto pick up, to the final delivery. Despite a snowstorm on the receiving end, my auto was delivered within 10 minutes of the agreed on meeting time– and in perfect condition. I now know first-hand why they received the top customer evaluations–they deliver on their promises & commitments! Highly Recommend for your auto transport needs from Florida!!!”
“The final price was exactly what they quoted me. I shipped two different vehicles and I used two separate companies. Sherpa was a little higher than the other company. But the fact that they gave me an exact date that it would be picked up and an exact date that it’ll be dropped off was the reason why I went with them. I talked to the driver three times before they picked up the vehicle. I also talked to him the day they picked up and then midway in between. Then I talked to him before they did delivery and on the delivery day. He really did all the communication. He was calling me all the time, which was good. Sherpa did exactly what they said they were going to do. The person I talked to at Sherpa was nice. The driver that picked up the vehicle was really nice. Instead of me taking an Uber, he drove me back to my place in Orlando.”
“Sherpa’s communication was great and everything turned out good. We had a tracker on our truck. We were just checking it, and I was like, “Oh, my gosh, it hasn’t moved in a day. What’s going on?” Then we realized they have to sleep. They have to take so many hours off. That was the only frustrating thing. When you pay a lot of money, you want your car to be here the next day, but it took six days. Everything was in one piece, though, so it was fine. There isn’t anybody else out there that would do better. Sherpa was very professional. The people from their call center were very knowledgeable. I had called another transport company that was just a little bit less, and their rep was explaining to me the process of how the bids work out there. He was being knowledgeable but was bad mouthing the other company. Overall, the service to Maitland was great.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Winter Park, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
