What our Tamarac customers say about Sherpa:
“The delivery of my baby SUV was faster than I expected. The transport took three days and that exceeded my expectations. The guy called the very next day after I got here. I knew that they were going to be here an hour before. They got my car right to the address where I live. The transport was an open one and I was very impressed. I didn’t have to use the Sherpa carwash thing.”
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car.”
“The price was really reasonable. A lot of the other places were calling me, and it was really aggressive. They were telling me that it was gonna be cheaper. But then I was reading the reviews that a lot of times these other places will give you a really low price, and then they will call you and tell you, “Oh, no. I’m the driver and it’s actually this much money.” But Sherpa’s price stayed through the entire time. I had a flawless experience with them.”

Factors that affect Tamarac Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Tamarac, FL plays a significant role in car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open car carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Tamarac. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers added protection from Florida’s occasional heavy rains and potential road debris.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Location Accessibility: Tamarac’s proximity to major highways like I-95 and the Florida Turnpike can help keep costs down. However, if you’re shipping to or from a less accessible area, it may increase the price.
- Seasonal Demand: Car shipping prices to and from Tamarac can fluctuate with seasonal demand. Winter months often see increased rates due to snowbirds relocating to Florida, while summer can be busier with family moves.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. If your car doesn’t run, expect to pay more for special equipment needed to load and unload it.
- Delivery Timeframe: If you need expedited shipping to or from Tamarac, it will cost more than standard delivery times. Flexible pickup and delivery dates can often result in lower prices.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from Tamarac more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of car shipping costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Tamarac car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.

- Optimize pickup/dropoff locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major highways like I-95 or Florida’s Turnpike. This can reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall car shipping price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates for your Tamarac car shipping needs. Carriers may offer discounts for filling empty spots on their transport trucks.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer or holidays when shipping a car to or from Tamarac, FL. Off-peak periods often come with more competitive auto transport rates.

Tamarac Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When planning car shipping to or from Tamarac, FL, it’s crucial to understand local regulations and prepare for your move. For those using auto transport services, remember to remove your SunPass transponder before shipping your vehicle to avoid unexpected toll charges. Florida requires vehicle registration within 10 days of establishing residency, so plan accordingly if you’re moving to Tamarac. The process is straightforward and can be completed at the Broward County Tax Collector’s office.
Tamarac’s subtropical climate means your car may be exposed to intense heat and humidity during transport. When choosing a car shipping company, ensure they offer enclosed transport options to protect your vehicle from the elements. Additionally, Florida doesn’t require annual vehicle inspections, but it’s wise to have your car checked upon arrival to ensure it’s road-ready in your new environment.
For a smooth transition to Tamarac life, set up utilities early. Florida Power & Light (FPL) provides electricity, while the City of Tamarac handles water services. For internet, you have options like Xfinity and AT&T. Don’t forget to update your driver’s license within 30 days of moving – you can do this at the local DMV office.
If you’re moving away from Tamarac, remember to forward your mail, cancel local memberships, and return your library card to the Tamarac Branch Library. For those moving to the city, you’ll find excellent schools like Tamarac Elementary and Millennium Middle School for enrolling children.
Tamarac’s location near major highways like I-95 and the Florida Turnpike makes it an ideal spot for car transport companies to deliver vehicles. When shipping a car to Tamarac, coordinate with your chosen auto transport provider to determine the best delivery location, keeping in mind the city’s layout and any homeowner association rules that might affect large vehicle access.
Tamarac, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Tamarac?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Tamarac. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Tamarac?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Tamarac?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Tamarac?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If you are shipping to or from a port or your shipment includes ocean transit, your vehicle must be emptied of all items. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.
Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Tamarac
When scheduling car shipping services to or from Tamarac, FL, it’s crucial to consider the unique seasonal factors that can impact your auto transport experience. Tamarac’s subtropical climate brings hot, humid summers and mild winters, which can affect your car shipping plans in several ways.
During the summer months (June to September), temperatures in Tamarac can soar, often exceeding 90°F. If you’re planning to ship a car during this time, consider these tips:
- Place a sunshade under your car’s windshield to protect the interior from intense heat.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from your vehicle to prevent melting or damage.
- Check with your car shipping company about their policies for transporting vehicles with low-profile tires, which can be affected by hot road surfaces.
While Tamarac doesn’t experience harsh winters, the period from December to February can bring occasional cold snaps. When shipping a car during these months:
- Ensure your vehicle’s antifreeze levels are adequate for potential temperature drops.
- Remove any liquids that might freeze and expand, potentially causing damage.
It’s also important to note that Tamarac car shipping can be impacted by Florida’s hurricane season, which runs from June to November. During this time:
- Be flexible with your shipping dates, as severe weather can cause delays.
- Consider purchasing additional insurance for your auto transport.
- Stay in close contact with your car transport provider for updates on potential weather-related issues.
Lastly, keep in mind that Tamarac is a popular destination for snowbirds. This can lead to increased demand for car shipping services during the winter months. To avoid potential delays and higher costs, consider scheduling your car transport a few weeks before or after the peak snowbird migration periods.
Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“I bought a car out of state and I looked at over 25 different companies to transport it. I went with Sherpa because of the rebate they had and they weren’t harassing me. Other companies were blowing up my email box. Still, was able to get someone right away at Sherpa and she gave me a quick rate. Thereafter Sherpa was able to do the pickup really quick. They didn’t delay and weren’t trying to load up a whole bunch of cars. I had them transport a Dodge Challenger from Fort Lauderdale to Georgia to Atlanta. The driver brought the vehicle to my location and unloaded it. Initially, he was going to pick it up, but he noticed something wasn’t right on the vehicle. He called me and let me know that he could still bring it or he could not bring it. He turned around and picked it up for me. He let me know before he brought it up here and I was surprised. He also gave me the bill of lading with all the information on it. Everything was easy and paperless via email and it was a smooth transaction. The driver also let me check out the car. He showed me little marks that he had seen and noticed before transporting that he told me and took pictures of. He took pictures as he was loading and before he loaded, and sent them to me. He took every angle and took pictures of it on his truck, and it was good. Also, the quote given by Sherpa was reasonable. It wasn’t too low like I wanted it, but it was also not too high either, which made me feel like it was safe. In the end, it was a 100% accurate.”
“I was moving cross-country, so I needed a transport service to ship my vehicle. I looked at four transport companies and I went with Sherpa Auto Transport because of their reviews and their responsiveness when I called them. I enjoyed the fact that the reps answered right away. They got back to me when they said they would and kept me fully informed of how everything was going to work. They were really clear upfront that Sherpa was just the broker or the agency and not the company that was gonna do the transport. They were gonna use a company that they had worked with in the past and this company was gonna transport for them. As soon as they secured this company, they called me immediately to let me know that they had made contact with the company and they were ready to schedule the pickup. This process went smoothly. The quote that was provided by Sherpa was around the same price and within the ballpark of everything else that I was getting. Their quote was reasonable, especially for a covered transport. They put me in touch with the driver and the driver contacted me when he was getting close. I was in an apartment complex so he had to park outside on the main road where there was a parking area, and I brought my car out to them. They had other vehicles and they put mine in all the way up to the front because it was gonna be the last one they would offload. They took care of everything and the transport went really well. The driver was more comfortable speaking in Spanish than in English. Although I would have easily conducted business with him even if I didn’t speak Spanish, it went easier since I did, so my communication with him was good. Sherpa transported my vehicle 3,000 miles from LA to Miami and they were great and easy to work with.”
“I was moving to Seattle and I needed to ship my vehicle, an Audi A4. I looked at around five different transport companies, but Sherpa Auto Transport was recommended by a friend. The quote that was provided to me by Sherpa was reasonable. It was up to the par or quite equal to the other quotes. The customer service at Sherpa went as smoothly as it could. There were a couple of times when the driver was not picking up my calls. I called customer service and they were able to retrieve information from him, like where he was because the driver promised me around three times that he would be there. He may have been so close somewhere, but he didn’t want to take my calls. Also, the delivery was 14 days late and I started with my new company on the same day it came in. He said that he was going in two hours, but I was in an orientation that day and I was not able to get out, so I called up my brother who missed his office for half a day to pick that car up. The driver was very unreasonable. He said that he was going to Oregon the next day and if I didn’t pick up that day, then I might have to pick it up the next week. The car was dirty at the time of delivery and my brother was trying to find many scratches, but the truck driver wanted to go as fast as he could. He said that it was time to go and that if my brother could get the car clean that day, then let him know if there were any scratches. Overall, there was no damage, so that was good. I just didn’t like the transporter, the one who drove the vehicle, but I’ll definitely recommend Sherpa.”
“Your services were excellent. The communications were constant, accurate and professional, so I was completely aware of what was happening at all times. If there was a minor problem, I felt that Sherpa was on top of it, and took responsibility for everything under their control. When the driver was found, I got numerous emails, texts and phone calls to alert me. When his language was a bit hard to understand, Sherpa got in the middle of it to help with communication. When I asked about insurance, Sherpa assured me it had the proper paperwork. The driver arrived at exactly the appointed hour, and showed up a day early in Texas—unbelievable. I would not hesitate to use your services again, and I have been telling my friends to consider you if they want to ship their cars anywhere. Many thanks for such a professional and hassle-free experience (not to mention a very fair price).”
“We didn’t wanna rent a car in Florida. We wanted to have our car there but we didn’t wanna go by train or by car. We wanted to fly down there. So we used a transport service to move our car from New Jersey to Florida. We called Sherpa and they gave us a price. It was highly expensive but it was fair. The car came and it was in good shape. They took care of it and didn’t mess it up. Plus they met our timetable. We had set out a timetable to satisfy our need as to when we were gonna arrive and when we were gonna leave. But because of the virus, we didn’t leave Florida. Our flight was canceled. So we had to tell Sherpa we had to change the date and they were very accommodating with the whole thing. In fact, they met all of our requirements. Our experience was quite good. We were satisfied pretty much with the whole service.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Tamarac, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
