What our St. Cloud customers say about Sherpa:
“Sherpa`s price was more expensive than some of the other quotes I received, but my decision to go with them was based off of feedback I saw online versus some of these companies that were a bit more sketchy. The pick-up location was at St. Cloud, Florida and the car carrier parked on a bigger street, one that had more access, then the guy walked to my family member`s house to pick up the truck.”
“Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida.”
“First time to ship an automobile in my life. Looking for excellent rating from BBB. Took a while to research because I want a reliable, honest company. Found Sherpa with A+ rating. Talked to a guy name Shane. Made me feel very relax because He is too friendly, courteous, well experience and very confident which made me feel comfortable during transaction.”

Note: These figures reflect the past 12 months of Sherpa Auto Transport’s vehicle shipments to or from St. Cloud, FL. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect St. Cloud Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from St. Cloud, FL. Longer distances typically result in higher prices, but the cost per mile often decreases for longer trips.
- Vehicle Type: The size and weight of your vehicle affect shipping costs. Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, generally cost more to transport than compact cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Method: Open car transport is the most common and affordable option for shipping to or from St. Cloud. Enclosed transport, while more expensive, offers additional protection from weather and road debris, which may be beneficial during Florida’s hurricane season.
- Location Accessibility: St. Cloud’s proximity to major highways like Florida’s Turnpike and US-192 can help keep costs down. However, if your pickup or delivery location is in a more remote area, it may increase the price.
- Seasonal Factors: Florida’s peak tourist season, typically from December to April, can affect car shipping prices. Demand for auto transport services may increase during these months, potentially leading to higher costs.
- Timeframe: If you need expedited shipping to or from St. Cloud, expect to pay more. Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in more competitive pricing.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. If your car doesn’t run, additional equipment may be needed for loading and unloading, increasing the cost.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from St. Cloud, FL. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your St. Cloud car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more affordable than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates, especially for standard vehicles.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major highways like Florida’s Turnpike or US-192. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your overall car transport price.
- Lighten your load: Remove personal items from your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item security during transport.
- Stay flexible: Offering date flexibility for both pickup and delivery can help you secure better rates. Consider a range of dates rather than a specific day for your St. Cloud auto transport.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer. Shipping your car to or from St. Cloud during off-peak times may result in more competitive pricing.

St. Cloud Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When planning your move to or from St. Cloud, FL, it’s essential to consider the specific requirements for car shipping and settling into your new home. For those using auto transport services, remember to remove your SunPass transponder before shipping your vehicle to avoid unexpected toll charges. Florida’s vehicle registration process is straightforward, but you’ll need to complete it within 30 days of establishing residency. Be prepared with proof of insurance, a valid ID, and your vehicle’s title.
St. Cloud’s climate can be challenging for vehicles, with high humidity and intense sun. Consider requesting enclosed car transport to protect your vehicle during shipping. Once you arrive, invest in a good car cover to shield your vehicle from the elements when parked.
When settling in St. Cloud, you’ll need to set up utilities. The primary electricity provider is Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), while water services are managed by the City of St. Cloud. For internet, you have options including Spectrum and CenturyLink. Don’t forget to update your driver’s license and register to vote at the local DMV.
If you’re moving away from St. Cloud, remember to:
- Forward your mail through USPS
- Cancel local memberships (gym, library, etc.)
- Notify your children’s school of the move
- Return any city-issued items like trash bins
When choosing a car shipping company for your move, look for one familiar with St. Cloud’s unique aspects. The city’s proximity to major highways like the Florida Turnpike and US-192 makes it accessible for auto transport, but local knowledge can ensure smoother pickup and delivery.
By considering these factors, you’ll be well-prepared for your move to or from St. Cloud, ensuring a smooth transition for both you and your vehicle.
St. Cloud, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from St. Cloud?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from St. Cloud. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from St. Cloud?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from St. Cloud?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to St. Cloud?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If you are shipping to or from a port or your shipment includes ocean transit, your vehicle must be emptied of all items. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.
Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.

“I recently had death in my family and had to get my uncle’s car from Florida to Maryland. The paperwork to change ownership of the car was slow, but Sherpa Auto Transport stayed in touch with me. They called once a week to ensure me that the price we had initially agreed to would still be honored. They were very compassionate about my situation.”
“I had a positive experience with Sherpa. If you are using a transport company please go into it knowing that it is a very aggressive industry. To get a quote you are required to provide your phone number and the various brokers, including Sherpa, will call and/or repeatedly until you tell them you’ve gone with someone else. Please also understand that these are brokers and not truckers. They are not the ones who will physically be transporting your vehicle. All brokers require some sort of deposit up front which you can use a credit card for but the balance due is required in cash or money order or sometimes Zelle due to the trucking company upon delivery. That’s standard. If you pay all by cc you will pay more and all upfront.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in St. Cloud, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
