Factors that affect Spring Hill Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: Spring Hill’s location in central Florida affects shipping costs. Transporting a car to or from more distant locations like the Northeast or West Coast will be pricier than shipping within Florida or to nearby states.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to Spring Hill. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers protection from Florida’s intense sun and occasional tropical storms for high-value vehicles.
- Location Accessibility: Spring Hill’s proximity to major routes like the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589) and I-75 can help keep costs down. However, if you’re shipping to a more remote area away from these highways, it may increase the price.
- Seasonal Demand: Auto transport to Spring Hill can be pricier during peak seasons. Winter months see an influx of snowbirds, potentially raising shipping costs. Summer can also be busy due to family relocations.
- Vehicle Size and Condition: Larger vehicles like SUVs or trucks common in Florida may cost more to ship than compact cars. Non-running vehicles will incur additional fees for special handling.
- Delivery Timeframe: If you need your car shipped quickly to Spring Hill, expect to pay more. Flexible delivery windows often result in lower prices.
- Fuel Prices: Fluctuations in fuel costs can affect car shipping prices to and from Spring Hill, as transport companies adjust their rates accordingly.
Understanding these factors can help you navigate the car shipping process to or from Spring Hill more effectively. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Spring Hill car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more affordable than enclosed options. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates while still providing reliable auto transport.
- Select convenient locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find pickup and dropoff points near major highways like I-75 or US-19. This can reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall car shipping price.
- Remove personal items: Empty your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about personal belongings during transport.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates for your Spring Hill car transport. Carriers may offer discounts for filling spots in their existing routes.
- Consider seasonal timing: Spring Hill’s mild winters make it an attractive destination year-round. However, shipping during off-peak seasons (like fall) might result in more competitive auto transport rates.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. “Outstanding company! I recently had death in my family and had to get my uncle’s car from Florida to Maryland. The paperwork to change ownership of the car was slow, but Sherpa Auto Transport stayed in touch with me. They called once a week to ensure me that the price we had initially agreed to would still be honored. They were very compassionate about my situation. They said as soon as I told them the car was ready, they would find a driver. Each step of the way, Sherpa Auto Transport followed up with an email. As soon as I told them the paperwork was in order, I got a call and an email within 20 minutes telling me the driver was ready to pick the car up. LMK Logistics showed up 30 minutes later. The driver was very courteous, and I could tell he had many years of experience with loading and securing vehicles on the truck. My sister got the car within 24 hours telling her that the driver was about 30 minutes away from her home. After the car was delivered, I received another email from Sherpa Auto Transport confirming the delivery of my vehicle and to tell me that I was entitled to a free car wash on them. I have stored the name and number of this company in my phone for future reference. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport to coordinate the move of any of your vehicles. You will not experience a better class of service. Thank you so much for easing my pain due to the death of my uncle. I will be using you and recommending you to others in the future.”
“If you`ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn`t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars. You will deal with NONE of that with Sherpa Transport. They guarantee the first price quote in writing that you accept. And there is not a single fee or hidden charge after that. I had such a bad experience with the dozens of calls and abusive quotes that I asked the Sherpa agent how this whole thing works. He as honest and explained it all to me. Then he explained they only with with insured vetted transporters. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me. He was an Angel! He was so kind and friendly. His truck was top notch and IMMACULATE! I knew the cars would be safe. We paid around $1300 each ($2600 total). Considering the insurance costs, gas, cost to maintain those trucks, and time, it was worth every penny. But the peace of mind was out of this world! I had a safe feeling with Sherpa. I spoke to several agents because my first agent was off the next day when I was due to sign. Every person I spoke to was highly respectful and helpful (night and day to the other companies I spoke to). Note that you have 24 hours to take the quote. You won`t have to worry, you are making the best decision. Great job Sherpa! And reward your agents! They are well trained and caring which is hard to find in this day and age”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Spring Hill, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
