I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic. We got that place lined up. It was a few miles away from my house. They called me numerous times when they were on the way and got there. The car was dirty, but I expected it to be. It was raining and it was an open truck. But other than that, no damage to the vehicle. The brothers were incredibly friendly and professional people that if I had to use anybody again, I would recommend them and Sherpa. I was very worried throughout the process because I have never purchased a vehicle that I have never seen before, or even driven or heard it idle. They got it to me and it was in good shape. And everything was good. I enjoyed it. Plus they were cool. They had a very exotic, classic car on the truck and they had to offload it to get my car off. They opened the doors and let me peek my head in and take a look at it, and I drooled a bit at how cool the car was. Sherpa`s quote was better than anything that I had received other than ones that were scams. I`ve never done this before. I just signed up online and I was hammered with emails and phone calls from a lot of people that were trying to, “Oh, I`ll beat this price. I`ll do this price.†And I was getting quotes that seemed too good to be true, and they were, because once I went and got my fiancée to do her magic and look these particular companies up, she was like, “Yeah, that`s gonna be a no. Each one of those has terrible reviews and they`re scams.†Because they quoted me 500 bucks, $600, that type of stuff. What Sherpa quoted me wasn`t gonna fluctuate. If it did, they would apply money towards it if need be. It was right on the money. The transport was part of my car purcahsing process that was the fastest, streamlined and very much worth the money that I paid for.”
“If you`ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn`t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars. You will deal with NONE of that with Sherpa Transport. They guarantee the first price quote in writing that you accept. And there is not a single fee or hidden charge after that. I had such a bad experience with the dozens of calls and abusive quotes that I asked the Sherpa agent how this whole thing works. He as honest and explained it all to me. Then he explained they only with with insured vetted transporters. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me. He was an Angel! He was so kind and friendly. His truck was top notch and IMMACULATE! I knew the cars would be safe. We paid around $1300 each ($2600 total). Considering the insurance costs, gas, cost to maintain those trucks, and time, it was worth every penny. But the peace of mind was out of this world! I had a safe feeling with Sherpa. I spoke to several agents because my first agent was off the next day when I was due to sign. Every person I spoke to was highly respectful and helpful (night and day to the other companies I spoke to). Note that you have 24 hours to take the quote. “I`ve had horrible experiences making calls a 2 yrs ago, planning a move and needing my car shipped. I was getting hammered for a couple weeks by annoying calls, texts, and emails from many transport companies that didn`t seem legit. Fast forward, my moving plans fell through, and this time around, I took my time researching for reliable transport companies. I stumbled upon Sherpa reviews here, which made me more comfortable and confident to call, needing my car shipped from San Diego to Florida. Customer service was excellent with my first call, explained how transport works, they aren`t like the companies that have hundreds of random people calling, texting, and emailing, asked for a window date I needed my car picked up, and got a quote done. I felt great after the call. Communication was top notch from customer service to the driver. 2 weeks later, I got a call from the driver letting me know what day and time he`s arriving. The driver actually arrived a day or 2 earlier that was on a Sunday, which wasn`t a problem. I took pics of the outside and inside my car. The driver took pics as well, including pics of my car being loaded on the truck that were also sent to me through text message. The driver was very detailed, and told me he`ll have updates in the next couple days. That Wednesday morning, the driver sent me a text with a picture of his truck that had other cars on it, and said my car will be delivered early in the morning Thursday! I was impressed how fast shipping was! That Thursday, a family was contacted by the driver for delivery. The delivery was very smooth, recieved a pic of my car in a nearby parking lot due to his truck being too big for residential areas that was less than 1 mile away. My family member retrieved my car after doing an inspection with the driver. No scratches or damages whatsoever! Received the bill of lading afterwards. “I purchased a Hummer that was in the backwoods Northwest part of Arkansas and I live in ********, Florida. I had no desire to be in a car that long and some friends suggested to have it shipped by professionals. My initial inquiry into the car shipping business was not good. I contacted a company in New York (I think?), and from the first day of the call, I never spoke to the same person twice, never got an actual quote, never was given promised call-backs, and most importantly, the name of the company on the phone changed at times. I knew I was dealing with something very shady. I quick check on ****/************ showed over 850 complaints, rip offs, shake-downs, and extortion in some cases by customers to get their vehicles off of the trucks at destination points by drivers who had invoices with different numbers that customers agreed up and even had signed contracts. This scared me a bit, until I called a friend in New York and explained my situation. My friend explained the business to me very quickly. He said it is very risky if you do not know who you are dealing with. That is when he said he and his family had been dealing with Sherpa for years. They ship cars between NY and Florida all the time. I called Sherpa right away and from the first minute I knew I was dealing with pros. I was given a price, a timeline, and great customer service. I received a call back on same day with all the details, the driver`s name, an explanation of why a window was needed for delivery, and most important, the confidence that I could call if I had any questions. “When I did some research prior to shipping my car, from FL to CO, I saw several brokers recommended over and over. One of those names was Sherpa which just happened to be the first one I asked for a quote. I was very surprised at the price quoted as I was expecting it to be much higher and subsequent quotes from other brokers were 25-50% higher at least. Normally the lowest price would make somewhat leery but the reviews from others were so good and the few reviews that were not 5* were not really Sherpa`s fault.I accepted Sherpa`s quote and spoke to a lovely young lady called ***** who explained the process and all the details. I was given a 5 day window for my pick up period starting on the day of my choosing. As this fell over a weekend it was really 7 days and I was getting a bit nervous by day 4. A quick phone call to Sherpa and ***** assured me things were normal and she was very confident I would be assigned a carrier soon especially since Sherpa would invoke their guarantee. Sure enough I got a call the next day from the carrier saying they would be at my house in 2 hours. The driver went over my car with me and pointed out a few existing scratches etc then carefully loaded my car.
