What our Plantation customers say about Sherpa:
“I had them transport a Dodge Challenger from Fort Lauderdale to Georgia to Atlanta. The driver brought the vehicle to my location and unloaded it. Initially, he was going to pick it up, but he noticed something wasn’t right on the vehicle. He called me and let me know that he could still bring it or he could not bring it. He turned around and picked it up for me. He let me know before he brought it up here and I was surprised. He also gave me the bill of lading with all the information on it. Everything was easy and paperless via email and it was a smooth transaction.”
“Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic.”
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car. Also I’ve been receiving email from Sherpa information about facts what to expect during the time I will get the car till it arrived to my son’s place.”

Factors that affect Plantation Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Plantation, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open trailers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Plantation. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from Florida’s intense sun, occasional tropical storms, and road debris.
- Location Accessibility: Plantation’s proximity to major highways like I-595 and I-95 can help reduce costs. Urban areas are typically cheaper for pickup and delivery compared to rural locations.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship than compact cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Seasonal Factors: Plantation’s warm climate attracts snowbirds, potentially increasing demand and prices for car shipping during winter months. Summer can also see higher rates due to general peak season demand.
- Fuel Prices: Fluctuations in fuel costs can affect car shipping rates to and from Plantation, as carriers adjust their prices to maintain profitability.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to transport than inoperable ones, which require special equipment for loading and unloading.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping a car to or from Plantation, FL. Navigating the car shipping process to or from Plantation, Florida doesn’t have to be complicated. Follow these key steps to ensure a smooth auto transport experience in the Sunshine State:
1. Get an instant quote – Start by getting a free online quote from a reputable car shipping company. You’ll need to provide details like your vehicle type, pickup/delivery locations, and preferred shipping method. For Plantation car shipping, consider factors like seasonal demand and weather when choosing dates.
2. Book your shipment – Once you have a quote you’re happy with, lock in your car transport by booking online or over the phone. Nothing is typically due upfront to reserve.
3. Prepare your vehicle – Take time to get your car ready for shipping. This includes washing it, documenting any existing damage, removing personal items, and performing basic maintenance. For Plantation auto transport, be sure to empty your gas tank to 1/4 or less, as the humid climate can cause condensation in a full tank.
4. Meet the carrier – Your auto transport company will arrange pickup as close to your Plantation address as possible. Be ready to hand over keys and do a vehicle inspection.
5. Track your shipment – While your car is in transit, stay informed with regular updates from your shipping provider. Most routes to/from Plantation will utilize I-95 or I-75.
6. Receive your vehicle – Upon delivery in Plantation, inspect your car again and pay any remaining balance to complete the auto transport process.
When shipping a car to or from Plantation, keep the local climate in mind. The area’s hot, humid weather and occasional severe storms can impact transit times. Plan accordingly, especially during hurricane season (June-November). Plantation Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When planning your move to or from Plantation, FL, there are several important factors to consider regarding your vehicle and the local area. For car shipping to Plantation, it’s crucial to be aware of Florida’s vehicle requirements and regulations.
First, if you’re bringing a vehicle into Florida, you’ll need to register it within 10 days of establishing residency. The process involves providing proof of insurance, a valid driver’s license, and completing a vehicle inspection. Florida uses the SunPass system for toll roads, so consider removing your current toll transponder to avoid unintended charges during auto transport.
Plantation’s subtropical climate means your vehicle will be exposed to high humidity and occasional severe weather. When shipping a car to Plantation, consider requesting enclosed auto transport for added protection against the elements.
As you settle into Plantation, you’ll need to set up utilities. Florida Power & Light (FPL) provides electricity, while the City of Plantation handles water services. For internet, providers like AT&T and Xfinity offer high-speed connections. Don’t forget to update your voter registration and, if applicable, enroll your children in the Broward County Public Schools system.
If you’re moving away from Plantation, remember to cancel local memberships, forward your mail, and return any library books. For those using car shipping services from Plantation, be aware of major highways like I-595 and I-95, which your auto transport company may use.
Whether you’re moving to or from Plantation, choosing a reliable car shipping company is essential. Look for providers experienced in Florida auto transport to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your vehicle in this vibrant South Florida city.
Plantation, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Plantation?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Plantation. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Plantation?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Plantation?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Plantation?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.

Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“Sherpa is very reliable and honest. They’ll take care of your car as their own. I like their fixed rate guarantee. I was afraid that once I commit to the other companies and once the driver came to pick up my car, they’d charge up additional fees and I wouldn’t be able to refuse because I got my flight already scheduled. During the pickup, the driver called me up and told me that his truck wouldn’t be able to go inside my apartment complex. We agreed to meet up somewhere very near that was also convenient on his part. I had some luggage inside the car and he didn’t charge me extra for that. He updated me every time during the transport. He even made sure that my bumper won’t be blown away because it was a little bit wiggly. He put a tape on it and made sure that everything would be fine. During the delivery, he texted me three hours before he arrived here. He told me that his truck wouldn’t be able to enter our neighborhood because the streets were a little bit narrow. Again, we agreed to meet up somewhere that was very convenient with his truck. It’s only five-minute walk from my house.”
“Setting up the transport was really easy. It took one phone call and it was done. Sherpa called me and I didn’t have to wait. The car came a day sooner than expected. The guy who shipped it emailed me once they pick it up. The guy who drove it down was really nice to me. He called me ahead of time and let me know when I could be there. It was dark. So he was worried about me being by the side of the road. So that was nice of him. But everything went really smoothly. If I was ever needing to ship a car again, I would do it with Sherpa. The price was really reasonable. A lot of the other places were calling me, and it was really aggressive. They were telling me that it was gonna be cheaper. But then I was reading the reviews that a lot of times these other places will give you a really low price, and then they will call you and tell you, “Oh, no. I’m the driver and it’s actually this much money.” But Sherpa’s price stayed through the entire time. I had a flawless experience with them.”
“When researching companies to ship my 2012 Kia Sorento cross country Sherpa Auto Transport stood out as exceptional–by previous customers. I subsequently chose Sherpa, and they exceeded my expectations! They tell you what to expect throughout the process, and proactively followup with you at every step. Their pricing was reasonable and I even got a promised rebate for providing certain documentation at the conclusion of the shipment. The shipment went perfectly from the advanced price quote, to auto pick up, to the final delivery. Despite a snowstorm on the receiving end, my auto was delivered within 10 minutes of the agreed on meeting time– and in perfect condition. I now know first-hand why they received the top customer evaluations–they deliver on their promises & commitments! Highly Recommend for your auto transport needs!!!”
“I had a four-door Jeep Wrangler transported from Florida to Arizona. Sherpa was very customer-service-oriented when I spoke with them. The reviews about the company really swayed me to use their service. The gal that helped me was personable and explained things well. The price lock option was very nice and I liked that. It was very helpful. Also, the final cost was reasonable. I had one other company that was a little less expensive and the service was great. But I wanted to go with someone I felt more comfortable with. The only thing is they don’t give you an idea of who’s gonna be picking up the car until the last minute. It’s a little scary waiting until the last minute to know for sure if they’re gonna pick it up. But that’s just how the industry works. I was there when the car was picked up and I was there when it was dropped off. I met the driver. The only thing I didn’t like was they stopped on a busy street right by my house when there was one road they could have come on. We had to walk out there and I had to walk to the median. That aside, the driver was courteous. It’s really hard to move those big trucks in and out of residential areas, so I understood. It didn’t bother me that much. Everything worked out great. The intended purpose was fulfilled and there was great customer service.”
“Just used them to transport my mom’s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Plantation, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
