What our Pinellas Park customers say about Sherpa:
“I was moving from Florida to New York, and I went online, and Sherpa was in the top five. I had picked another one, but the window was too big, and Sherpa’s fits me right. The representative that set up the transport was very professional. They had to put my car on a smaller truck because of where I was located in Pinellas Park, and it was no problem. The driver brought it right in, took it off the truck, and gave me the keys. I looked around and everything was fine on the car. Everything was accurate and I`m very happy with Sherpa. I`ll use them again.”
“During the transport, I didn`t hear anything from Sherpa until later that day. So, that could have been better. It would have been a little easier to have a one-day heads-up. The transport was from Florida to Oregon, which was 3,000 miles ad it took 10 days. Sherpa told me what to expect and the driver arrived earlier of their range. I was happy with Sherpa.”
“My fiancée is a wizard when it comes to doing her due diligence and finding the best companies and reading reviews. I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Pinellas Park Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Pinellas Park, FL significantly affects car shipping prices. Longer distances typically result in higher costs, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Pinellas Park. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers protection from Florida’s intense sun, occasional storms, and road debris for high-value or classic vehicles.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship to or from Pinellas Park due to the space and weight they occupy on the carrier.
- Season: Summer months and January are peak seasons for auto transport in Pinellas Park, often resulting in higher prices due to increased demand. Florida’s mild winter climate can make off-season shipping more appealing and cost-effective.
- Route Popularity: Pinellas Park’s proximity to major highways like I-275 and I-75 can positively impact shipping costs, as carriers frequently travel these routes.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower car shipping costs. Expedited services for quicker transport to or from Pinellas Park will increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship as they can be driven onto the carrier. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of auto transport to or from Pinellas Park.
Understanding these factors can help you better estimate and potentially reduce your car shipping costs to or from Pinellas Park, FL. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your car shipment at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for multiple pickups in Pinellas Park, FL.
- Choose open transport: Open shipping is more cost-effective and provides greater flexibility for negotiating lower prices. It’s suitable for most vehicles, though enclosed transport may be necessary for certain cars.
- Optimize pickup/dropoff locations: Work with Sherpa advisers to find convenient locations near major interstates like I-275 or US-19. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall shipping price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues. Car shipping companies aren’t responsible for personal belongings left in vehicles.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates. Carriers may offer discounts for shipments that fit well into their existing schedules, especially when transporting to or from Pinellas Park.
- Consider seasonal factors: Auto transport rates can fluctuate based on demand. If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer or holidays when shipping to or from Pinellas Park, FL, to potentially secure lower rates.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Pinellas Park?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Pinellas Park?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.

Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Pinellas Park
When planning car shipping to or from Pinellas Park, FL, it’s crucial to consider the seasonal factors that can impact your auto transport experience. Pinellas Park enjoys a subtropical climate with mild winters and hot, humid summers. Here are some key points to keep in mind:
Summer Considerations:
- Florida’s summer heat can be intense. When shipping a car during this season, consider placing a sunshade under the windshield to protect the interior.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from your vehicle before transport, as temperatures inside can soar.
- The hurricane season (June to November) may affect car shipping services. Be prepared for potential delays and stay in touch with your car shipping company.
Winter Tips:
- While Pinellas Park rarely sees freezing temperatures, if you’re shipping a car from a colder region, ensure any liquids in the vehicle won’t freeze and expand.
- Winter is “snowbird season” in Florida. Expect increased demand for car transport services from December to April, which may affect prices and availability.
Year-round Advice:
- Pinellas Park’s proximity to Tampa Bay means occasional flooding during heavy rains. Choose pickup and drop-off locations on higher ground when possible.
- The area’s sandy soil can become unstable when wet. Ensure your car shipping provider has a safe, stable surface for loading and unloading.
- Tourist seasons (spring break, summer holidays) can impact traffic and auto transport schedules. Plan accordingly and book early.
By considering these seasonal factors, you can ensure a smoother car shipping experience to or from Pinellas Park, FL. Always communicate with your chosen auto transport company about any specific concerns or requirements you may have based on the time of year you’re planning to ship your car.

Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“At two different times, I spoke to two people who were both very helpful and knowledgeable. Price-wise, Sherpa Auto Transport was the same as everyone. They were all within the same ballpark of each other. But I felt they were more comfortable after speaking to them. Also, I could see why they had the reviews because they were exactly like it was when talking to them. And everything was smooth. They offered a free car wash. Everything was wonderful. I submitted the thing through online, and they sent an email back with the quote. It was a day later, they called to go over a couple of things. I`m in South Florida and the car would go to Boston, and the tires in Florida were not the type of tires I need for winter up north. So, that would cause a delay because we had to wait for the tires to come in. She said, “No problem. I`ll make a note in the system so we can still hold on to the quote we gave you and you don`t lose the price. And as soon as you know when the tires will be in and when you can do this, just let us know.” Once I knew when the tires would be done, I called them back. She guided me on what window to take for pick-up, so it would be there when my daughter got there. She helped me with figuring what would be the best dates for everything. And while I was on the phone with her, she sent me an email which I had to click on and pay the deposit, and she stayed on the phone with me while the whole thing went through to make sure they got it. There were no glitches in their system or on my end. Within a day, she sent me the name of the company that would take the car, gave me all their contact information if I needed anything from them. The pick-up went very well. It was not the driver`s fault that it was pouring rain. I felt bad. Those things happen. In that type of business, it`s not like an airplane where people know what time they would arrive and depart. The driver would get stuck based on whoever is in front of him. He thought he would be there between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and it wound up being more 2 o`clock in the afternoon. I knew he couldn`t get into my neighborhood. So, the company gave me the driver`s direct phone number so I could pre-arrange a pick-up where he could get the truck and be able to get the car. So, between the weather and the rain, it delayed him. The pick-up wound being later than expected. The drop-off, again, was not his fault, the car that was dropped off before us gave the wrong address and did not answer their phone. It was my brother-in-law that handled that and they agreed it would be too dark by the time the driver would be able to bring the car. So, they said they would do it first thing in the morning and they were there at 7:30 with the car.”
“I read the Better Business Bureau reports and Sherpa was at the top. I’m a senior, so I looked at a few senior sites and Sherpa was recommended by one of the sites that I looked at. I called them and they were pretty straightforward. They weren’t the lowest price but they had a promised guarantee stating that it would only be a certain price and they guaranteed $300 over. I have a Kia and I was having it transported from Southern Arizona to Sebring, Florida. What Sherpa does is they put the bid out and different transport companies then bid on that. I had a gentleman from Miami who was making the trip back and forth and he called me. I was under the impression I would get a 24 to 48-hour notice. He was very professional when he showed up and he delivered my car safely. But he only gave me half hour notice on my end before he wanted to get the car. The car was picked up on a Tuesday morning and it was delivered on Friday. I was still in Arizona. My daughter-in-law and son were having the car delivered. The gentleman texted me Thursday night and said, “Let them know that I’ll be there first thing in the morning.†It was already midnight in Florida so they didn’t get the message. In the end, it all worked out fine despite the transport guy not quite meeting the expectations that Sherpa said I would get from a carrier. The car was delivered exactly as they said it would be. It made it fine. I was promised upfront by Sherpa a free car wash but my car was clean, so I didn’t use the car wash. I was very happy.”
“Dylan, the guy from Sherpa, told me about how auto shipping works and how they do things. He was honest with telling me everything and one thing I liked about it is it wasn’t some way somewhere else to have to get the car from Florida. I live in Charlotte and Sherpa is in Charlotte. At least they are local. I worked with somebody else and didn`t get Dylan but both of them were very good and knowledgeable, which is what I liked about Sherpa and I have referred them. The transport was from Gainesville, Florida to Charlotte and it took about seven hours. And with regards to cost, everything stayed the same. The driver was nice and let me know when he was there. He had to park the vehicle up on the street and then drive the car down in the neighborhood, which is fine. And he got here with that time he told me he would. He called me said it`s not going to be 9:00 and it’s probably more like 11:00. He probably got caught in traffic but he communicated with me along the way. There were no scratches on the car so everything went good.”
“Sherpa is very reliable and honest. They`ll take care of your car as their own. I like their fixed rate guarantee. I was afraid that once I commit to the other companies and once the driver came to pick up my car, they`d charge up additional fees and I wouldn`t be able to refuse because I got my flight already scheduled. During the pickup, the driver called me up and told me that his truck wouldn`t be able to go inside my apartment complex. We agreed to meet up somewhere very near that was also convenient on his part. I had some luggage inside the car and he didn`t charge me extra for that. He updated me every time during the transport. He even made sure that my bumper won`t be blown away because it was a little bit wiggly. He put a tape on it and made sure that everything would be fine. During the delivery, he texted me three hours before he arrived here. He told me that his truck wouldn`t be able to enter our neighborhood because the streets were a little bit narrow. Again, we agreed to meet up somewhere that was very convenient with his truck. It`s only five-minute walk from my house.”
“If you`ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn`t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars. You will deal with NONE of that with Sherpa Transport. They guarantee the first price quote in writing that you accept. And there is not a single fee or hidden charge after that. I had such a bad experience with the dozens of calls and abusive quotes that I asked the Sherpa agent how this whole thing works. He as honest and explained it all to me. Then he explained they only with with insured vetted transporters. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me. He was an Angel! He was so kind and friendly. His truck was top notch and IMMACULATE! I knew the cars would be safe. We paid around $1300 each ($2600 total). Considering the insurance costs, gas, cost to maintain those trucks, and time, it was worth every penny. But the peace of mind was out of this world! I had a safe feeling with Sherpa. I spoke to several agents because my first agent was off the next day when I was due to sign. Every person I spoke to was highly respectful and helpful (night and day to the other companies I spoke to). Note that you have 24 hours to take the quote. You won`t have to worry, you are making the best decision. Great job Sherpa! And reward your agents! They are well trained and caring which is hard to find in this day and age”

About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
