What our Palm Beach customers say about Sherpa:
“The driver was polite. The only problem was that the guy was two days early. I don’t normally carry $1,000 in cash so instead of taking my nap during lunch break, I had to run home and get cash. I had them drop it off at the Toyota dealership that I work at and it worked out perfectly. The truck showed up in good shape. It was dirty but that was to be expected since it traveled 1,000 miles from Lenexa, Kansas to West Palm Beach.”
“I received a confirmation that they had found the driver that met their criteria and they informed me on when my vehicle would be picked up and the estimated time of delivery. My vehicle was delivered the day after it was picked up. In my dealings with Sherpa and the transport company, both were acceptable. If people are interested in reliable transport and an accurate approach that stands by what they deliver, I would recommend Sherpa.”
“This was my first experience with Sherpa. I would not hesitate to use them again. The service on pick up and delivery was prompt. All employees were polite and telephoned to confirm pick up and delivery. Telephone numbers were supplied in case there were any questions. Pricing was competitive but reliability was excellent. No hesitation in giving a five star rating.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Palm Beach Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The farther your vehicle needs to travel, the more it will cost to ship. Palm Beach’s location on Florida’s southeast coast can affect pricing for long-distance transports.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Palm Beach. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers protection from Florida’s intense sun and occasional tropical storms for high-value vehicles.
- Location Accessibility: Palm Beach’s urban setting and proximity to I-95 make it easier and more affordable for car transport. Rural areas or locations far from major highways may incur additional costs.
- Seasonal Demand: Car shipping prices to Palm Beach often increase during winter months when snowbirds flock to Florida. Summer can also see higher rates due to general peak season demand.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment for loading, increasing the shipping cost.
- Flexibility: Being flexible with your pickup and delivery dates can often result in lower car shipping costs to or from Palm Beach.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from Palm Beach. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Palm Beach car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more affordable than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates, especially for standard vehicles.
- Select strategic locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find pickup and drop-off points near major highways like I-95 or Florida’s Turnpike. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your auto transport price.
- Lighten your load: Remove personal items from your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during transport.
- Stay flexible: Offer a range of dates for pickup and delivery. This flexibility can help you secure better rates for your car shipping service to or from Palm Beach, FL.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak seasons like summer and holidays when demand for auto transport is high. Off-peak shipping may offer more competitive rates.

When shipping a car to or from Palm Beach, FL, consider the local climate. The area’s high humidity and salt air can affect vehicles, so enclosed transport might be preferable for added protection. Also, be aware of potential weather delays during hurricane season (June to November).
Palm Beach’s location along I-95 makes it easily accessible for auto transport. However, traffic can be heavy during peak tourist seasons, which may affect pickup and delivery times. Plan accordingly and maintain flexibility in your schedule.
By following these steps and considering local factors, you can ensure a smooth car shipping experience to or from Palm Beach, FL. Remember, choosing a reliable car shipping company is key to a stress-free auto transport process.
Palm Beach Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When shipping your car to or from Palm Beach, FL, it’s crucial to be aware of local regulations and practical considerations. For car transport to Palm Beach, remember to remove your SunPass transponder to avoid unnecessary toll charges during transit. Palm Beach’s climate can be harsh on vehicles, with high humidity and salt air. Before shipping your car, consider applying a protective wax coating. For those moving to Palm Beach, be prepared for potential hurricane evacuations by familiarizing yourself with evacuation routes, particularly I-95 and Florida’s Turnpike.

For internet, providers like Comcast and AT&T offer high-speed options. Don’t forget to update your voter registration and obtain a Palm Beach County library card for access to local resources.

Palm Beach, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Palm Beach?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Palm Beach. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Palm Beach?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Palm Beach?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Palm Beach?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If you are shipping to or from a port or your shipment includes ocean transit, your vehicle must be emptied of all items. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.
Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“I looked into a dozen transport companies and I liked Sherpa because of the price, good reviews and customer service. Their customer service reps were very responsive. I had numerous calls and emails with them, all of which were professional. Also, the quote was fairly reasonable. Sherpa moved my car cross-country and the driver was flexible. It took under two weeks and I had a very positive interaction with the driver when I picked up the vehicle. Everything was as promised, on time and the car was in great shape. Overall, it was a very good experience with Sherpa and going with them was worth it. I would happily hire them again and recommend to others.”
“I was a very nervous customer. I called Sherpa several times to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. I appreciated their patience and professional service. I would definitely use Sherpa again and would highly recommend. Everything happened as expected which was a huge relief. Thank you!”
“Had my first car picked up on time and transported from New York to Palm Beach Florida, everyone from the front office and the transporter were very professional, car delivered without a hitch, I’m having a second car picked up in 3 weeks for transport hoping for same, highly recommend.”
“Sherpa was extremely professional throughout the entire process. They kept me up on the progress every day and when it came to them finding a transporter, they found one which did a great job. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Palm Beach, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
