“We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. The experience with the transporter was incredible. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Oviedo Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Oviedo, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and affordable option for auto transport to or from Oviedo. Enclosed trailers, while offering extra protection, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Seasonal Factors: Oviedo’s warm climate attracts many seasonal residents. This can lead to higher demand and prices for car shipping services during peak moving seasons, typically in late spring and early fall.
- Route Accessibility: Oviedo’s proximity to major highways like SR 417 and SR 426 can help keep costs down. However, if your pickup or delivery location is in a more remote area, it may increase the price.
- Timing Flexibility: Opting for a wider pickup window can often result in lower car shipping costs. Rush or guaranteed pickup services will typically be more expensive.
- Vehicle Condition: Inoperable vehicles cost more to ship as they require special equipment for loading and unloading. Ensure your car is in running condition to avoid additional fees.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from Oviedo, FL. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Oviedo car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles, especially along major highways like I-4 or SR-417.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open car shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major routes. Consider areas close to UCF or Oviedo Mall for easy access.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of pickup and delivery dates to increase your chances of finding more affordable options. Consider allowing for pickup or delivery in nearby Orlando for potentially lower rates.
- Consider seasonality: Auto transport to and from Oviedo, FL can be affected by seasonal factors. Winter months may offer lower rates due to decreased demand, while summer can be busier and more expensive.

Oviedo, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Oviedo?

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Oviedo?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Oviedo?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Oviedo?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. - Stay informed: If you must ship during hurricane season, keep an eye on weather forecasts and maintain open communication with your car shipping company.

Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“At two different times, I spoke to two people who were both very helpful and knowledgeable. Price-wise, Sherpa Auto Transport was the same as everyone. They were all within the same ballpark of each other. But I felt they were more comfortable after speaking to them. Also, I could see why they had the reviews because they were exactly like it was when talking to them. And everything was smooth. They offered a free car wash. Everything was wonderful. I submitted the thing through online, and they sent an email back with the quote. It was a day later, they called to go over a couple of things. I`m in South Florida and the car would go to Boston, and the tires in Florida were not the type of tires I need for winter up north. So, that would cause a delay because we had to wait for the tires to come in. She said, “No problem. I`ll make a note in the system so we can still hold on to the quote we gave you and you don`t lose the price. And as soon as you know when the tires will be in and when you can do this, just let us know.” Once I knew when the tires would be done, I called them back. She guided me on what window to take for pick-up, so it would be there when my daughter got there. She helped me with figuring what would be the best dates for everything. And while I was on the phone with her, she sent me an email which I had to click on and pay the deposit, and she stayed on the phone with me while the whole thing went through to make sure they got it. There were no glitches in their system or on my end. Within a day, she sent me the name of the company that would take the car, gave me all their contact information if I needed anything from them. The pick-up went very well. It was not the driver`s fault that it was pouring rain. I felt bad. Those things happen. In that type of business, it`s not like an airplane where people know what time they would arrive and depart. The driver would get stuck based on whoever is in front of him. He thought he would be there between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and it wound up being more 2 o`clock in the afternoon. I knew he couldn`t get into my neighborhood. So, the company gave me the driver`s direct phone number so I could pre-arrange a pick-up where he could get the truck and be able to get the car. So, between the weather and the rain, it delayed him. The pick-up wound being later than expected. The drop-off, again, was not his fault, the car that was dropped off before us gave the wrong address and did not answer their phone. It was my brother-in-law that handled that and they agreed it would be too dark by the time the driver would be able to bring the car. So, they said they would do it first thing in the morning and they were there at 7:30 with the car.”
“I`ve had horrible experiences making calls a 2 yrs ago, planning a move and needing my car shipped. I was getting hammered for a couple weeks by annoying calls, texts, and emails from many transport companies that didn`t seem legit. Fast forward, my moving plans fell through, and this time around, I took my time researching for reliable transport companies. I stumbled upon Sherpa reviews here, which made me more comfortable and confident to call, needing my car shipped from San Diego to Florida. Customer service was excellent with my first call, explained how transport works, they aren`t like the companies that have hundreds of random people calling, texting, and emailing, asked for a window date I needed my car picked up, and got a quote done. I felt great after the call. Communication was top notch from customer service to the driver. 2 weeks later, I got a call from the driver letting me know what day and time he`s arriving. The driver actually arrived a day or 2 earlier that was on a Sunday, which wasn`t a problem. I took pics of the outside and inside my car. The driver took pics as well, including pics of my car being loaded on the truck that were also sent to me through text message. The driver was very detailed, and told me he`ll have updates in the next couple days. That Wednesday morning, the driver sent me a text with a picture of his truck that had other cars on it, and said my car will be delivered early in the morning Thursday! I was impressed how fast shipping was! That Thursday, a family was contacted by the driver for delivery. The delivery was very smooth, recieved a pic of my car in a nearby parking lot due to his truck being too big for residential areas that was less than 1 mile away. My family member retrieved my car after doing an inspection with the driver. No scratches or damages whatsoever! Received the bill of lading afterwards. It`s nice having your car at its final destination before I fly out! I`m very impressed with this company! I highly recommend Sherpa!”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”
“From the moment I contacted Sherpa Auto Transport, everything was smooth and efficient. I placed a call on Friday, had a call back by Saturday morning and transport arranged by Monday. They picked the car up in FL on Wednesday morning and we had it in San Antonio, TX on Thursday night. The driver was very responsive and courteous and his truck was immaculate. I was also extremely impressed with his driving ability. We have a sloped driveway and he maneuvered the trailer deftly right up to the garage door with literally a half inch of clearance to spare. The car arrived in the exact condition it was when it left. I have never transported a car before and to say it was a little bit daunting is an understatement. After getting the run around from another carrier, Sherpa really stepped in and made things easy. They were patient, explained the process thoroughly and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid for asking. I transported a car that was my father’s (a 1964 Porsche 356) that is very special to our family and I would trust Sherpa with it again.”
“I had a positive experience with Sherpa. If you are using a transport company please go into it knowing that it is a very aggressive industry. To get a quote you are required to provide your phone number and the various brokers, including Sherpa, will call and/or repeatedly until you tell them you’ve gone with someone else. Please also understand that these are brokers and not truckers. They are not the ones who will physically be transporting your vehicle. All brokers require some sort of deposit up front which you can use a credit card for but the balance due is required in cash or money order or sometimes Zelle due to the trucking company upon delivery. That’s standard. If you pay all by cc you will pay more and all upfront. Sherpa called me on a Sunday. I told the rep I went with someone else. His response was, “Ok. If anything falls through or you need us in the future, please reach out.” He seemed sincere. Well my first broker DID fall through, and based solely on the Sherpa rep’s response I called them back to use them. They weren’t the least expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for. I paid the deposit on a Monday afternoon and my trucker picked up on Wednesday and the car delivered from NC to FL on Thursday. I worked with Ivy and she was very knowledgeable and not pushy. She answered all my questions and explained the complete process without coming across as a sales person. The transport was smooth and without issue. One recommendation for Sherpa is to send a “thank you” and “how did we do” follow up email after the transport is complete. One broker sent auto-generated emails with general information about the transport business and things to look out for. Sherpa should do that too. It’s good info to have. I would use Sherpa again if I needed transport.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Oviedo, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
