The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car.”
“We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Ormond Beach Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from Ormond Beach, FL. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Type: Open transport is the most common and affordable option for car shipping to Ormond Beach. Enclosed transport, while offering extra protection from weather and road debris, is about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Season: Auto transport prices to Ormond Beach can fluctuate based on the time of year. Summer months and January tend to see higher rates due to increased demand.
- Route Popularity: Shipping to or from Ormond Beach along major routes like I-95 or I-4 may be more cost-effective than to less traveled areas.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship as they can be driven onto the carrier. Inoperable vehicles require special equipment, increasing the cost.
- Delivery Timeframe: Expedited shipping to Ormond Beach will cost more than standard delivery options. Flexible pickup and delivery dates can help reduce costs.
- Local Weather: Ormond Beach’s subtropical climate, with hot summers and mild winters, generally doesn’t significantly impact shipping costs. However, during hurricane season (June to November), rates might increase due to potential weather-related delays.

How does Ormond Beach Car Shipping Work?
Navigating the Car Shipping Process in Ormond Beach, FL
When it comes to car shipping services in Ormond Beach, FL, understanding the process is key to a smooth experience. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you ship a car to or from this sunny Florida destination:
- Get an Instant Quote: Start by obtaining a quote from a reputable car shipping company like Sherpa Auto Transport. You’ll need to provide details about your vehicle, desired dates, and locations. For Ormond Beach car shipping, consider factors like seasonal traffic and weather conditions that may affect transport times.
- Book Your Shipment: Once you’re satisfied with the quote, lock in your auto transport reservation. Remember, Ormond Beach’s proximity to I-95 can be advantageous for scheduling and routing.
- Prepare Your Vehicle: Before the pickup date, wash and inspect your car thoroughly. Ormond Beach’s coastal location means your vehicle may be exposed to salt air during transport, so document its condition carefully. Remove personal items and ensure your car has no more than a quarter tank of gas.
- Meet the Carrier: On pickup day, you’ll meet the driver for an inspection and key handover. If you’re shipping a car during Ormond Beach’s hurricane season (June to November), be prepared for potential schedule adjustments.
- Track Your Shipment: While your vehicle is in transit, stay informed about its progress. Many car transport companies offer updates to keep you in the loop.
- Receive Your Vehicle: Upon delivery, inspect your car again and sign the final paperwork. If you’re new to Ormond Beach, this is a great time to ask the driver about local driving tips or road conditions.

Ormond Beach Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When shipping your car to or from Ormond Beach, FL, it’s essential to be aware of local regulations and practical considerations. Florida doesn’t require vehicle inspections, making the car shipping process smoother. However, you should remove your SunPass transponder before auto transport to avoid accidental toll charges on your journey.
Upon arrival in Ormond Beach, you’ll need to register your vehicle within 30 days. Visit the Volusia County Tax Collector’s office with your out-of-state title, proof of insurance, and identification. Florida’s humid climate can be tough on vehicles, so consider rust-proofing services after your car transport.
For a smooth transition, set up utilities before your move. Florida Power & Light provides electricity, while the City of Ormond Beach handles water services. For internet, choose from providers like AT&T, Spectrum, or HughesNet. Don’t forget to update your address with USPS and transfer your voter registration.
Ormond Beach’s proximity to I-95 makes it convenient for car shipping services. The city’s year-round warm weather is ideal for auto transport, but be prepared for occasional hurricanes. When selecting a car shipping company, ensure they’re familiar with Florida’s climate and can protect your vehicle accordingly.
If you’re moving away from Ormond Beach, remember to cancel local memberships and return your library card. Inform your auto insurance provider about the move, as rates may change. Lastly, consider the timing of your car transport – avoiding the busy hurricane season (June to November) can lead to more reliable shipping schedules and potentially lower costs.
Ormond Beach, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Ormond Beach?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Ormond Beach. Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Ormond Beach?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Ormond Beach?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Ormond Beach?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“My fiancée is a wizard when it comes to doing her due diligence and finding the best companies and reading reviews. I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic. We got that place lined up. It was a few miles away from my house. They called me numerous times when they were on the way and got there. The car was dirty, but I expected it to be. It was raining and it was an open truck. But other than that, no damage to the vehicle. The brothers were incredibly friendly and professional people that if I had to use anybody again, I would recommend them and Sherpa. I was very worried throughout the process because I have never purchased a vehicle that I have never seen before, or even driven or heard it idle. They got it to me and it was in good shape. And everything was good. I enjoyed it. Plus they were cool. They had a very exotic, classic car on the truck and they had to offload it to get my car off. They opened the doors and let me peek my head in and take a look at it, and I drooled a bit at how cool the car was. Sherpa`s quote was better than anything that I had received other than ones that were scams. I`ve never done this before. I just signed up online and I was hammered with emails and phone calls from a lot of people that were trying to, “Oh, I`ll beat this price. I`ll do this price.†And I was getting quotes that seemed too good to be true, and they were, because once I went and got my fiancée to do her magic and look these particular companies up, she was like, “Yeah, that`s gonna be a no. Each one of those has terrible reviews and they`re scams.†Because they quoted me 500 bucks, $600, that type of stuff. What Sherpa quoted me wasn`t gonna fluctuate. If it did, they would apply money towards it if need be. It was right on the money. The transport was part of my car purcahsing process that was the fastest, streamlined and very much worth the money that I paid for.”
“Our daughter was moving from Florida to California for a transfer with her job and she needed to ship a 2010 Toyota RAV4. She looked at a few transport companies online and contacted one company. They took a deposit and sent the contract. But we didn’t like the terms of their contract at all and they didn’t have a very good rating on the Better Business Bureau. Then, we found Sherpa and we went with them. We’re very happy with our experience from start to finish. Their name is very cool and certainly good marketing on their part because it’s easy to remember. The customer service rep we had answered very quickly and explained the whole process. He told us a little bit about how the industry works and a little bit about how we don’t pay a deposit until we see the contract. The contract was just attached to the quote so we could take a look at the whole thing and see what we were getting into. Then we called back and told them to go ahead and look for a driver for us. It was a very easy transaction and their people were very good to talk to. They didn’t pester us, they told us what we needed to know, and were very professional. The cost was slightly higher but we liked their betting process. We felt like we were probably going to get a better-quality driver with valid insurance so to us, it was worth a little bit more money. It was certainly something we could live with because we would then have an assurance that we were getting somebody who we really wanted to trust our car to. And the terms of the contract were quite reasonable, especially compared to the other one we looked at before. We were working under a pretty tight deadline around the holidays, so we were concerned that things might be delayed. But Sherpa found someone and about half an hour later, we were meeting with the driver to drop the car off. Sherpa had to pay a free-hand to get someone to do the transport but they didn’t pass the cost on to us, which was very wonderful. The driver was very reputable and he was taking a lot of care documenting the car`s condition before it got on the truck. Also, the route from Florida to California was the only run that he did, so that made us feel better. We met him again with our daughter on the other end and he was very professional as well. He delivered the car right on time and very close to our daughter`s apartment. Everything was perfect. We would use Sherpa again and we would recommend them.”
“I had a four-door Jeep Wrangler transported from Florida to Arizona. Sherpa was very customer-service-oriented when I spoke with them. The reviews about the company really swayed me to use their service. The gal that helped me was personable and explained things well. The price lock option was very nice and I liked that. It was very helpful. Also, the final cost was reasonable. I had one other company that was a little less expensive and the service was great. But I wanted to go with someone I felt more comfortable with. The only thing is they don`t give you an idea of who`s gonna be picking up the car until the last minute. It`s a little scary waiting until the last minute to know for sure if they`re gonna pick it up. But that`s just how the industry works. I was there when the car was picked up and I was there when it was dropped off. I met the driver. The only thing I didn`t like was they stopped on a busy street right by my house when there was one road they could have come on. We had to walk out there and I had to walk to the median. That aside, the driver was courteous. It`s really hard to move those big trucks in and out of residential areas, so I understood. It didn`t bother me that much. Everything worked out great. The intended purpose was fulfilled and there was great customer service.”
“Sherpa’s price lock promise was a good lock in. That was a plus on their side. They were the only ones that I saw that offered it, which might have helped me in that decision besides flipping a few coins. I spoke with the guy who set it all up for me and he sounded nice, professional and sincere, and that was also helpful. I was kept informed of where the car was and when it was expected. I paid Sherpa a $200 down payment to set the date and there was another balance of 13.50. They wanted cash on the barrelhead when I pulled in but my daughter didn`t have the cash. I could put the money in her account and she`d have to take the money out of her account to get the cash. But since I`m paying for it, it was easier that it goes directly to where I want it to go. I sent $50 while the car was en route and Eric, the driver, said it went through. I told them that I’ll do the balance when they get there, after my daughter has checked out the car. And I did. It worked fast. But at first, they were a little hesitant about that and the other people weren`t even giving me much of a choice on that either. Sherpa worked with me with the payment, the pickup and the drop-off. They were always there when I called. It was excellent. I will use them again when I need to get my car back.”
“It was easy setting up the transport, but the time that was given was delayed a couple of times because the driver got delayed in traffic. But it was the same day. After I had this car in Florida, I like it so much that I had to bring it back to Philadelphia for the summer season. So, I contacted Sherpa because they had done a good job bringing the car down to Florida back at the end of December of 2022. I gave them a window and they said the driver would contact me a day ahead of time. I was leaving for the airport at 10:30 and I told the driver that we could meet by then, but he said he could not. So, I had made arrangements to leave the car, and he picked it up at around noon that day, about two hours after I had left. The quote that they gave me was a little bit high, but they did quality work. The interesting thing is that when my car was dropped off in Pennsylvania, the driver had one other car on the truck and it was for my neighbor that was four doors away. He and I compared notes, and the quote he paid was $200 less than I paid. He is actually on the east coast of Florida and I`m on the west coast of Florida. So, he`s a straight shot up 95, similar miles, but he could be a few miles shorter and a little bit easier trip. But that was interesting.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Ormond Beach, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
