What our Gulf Breeze customers say about Sherpa:
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car.”
“The transport was from Gainesville, Florida to Charlotte and it took about seven hours. And with regards to cost, everything stayed the same. The driver was nice and let me know when he was there. He had to park the vehicle up on the street and then drive the car down in the neighborhood, which is fine.”
“When researching companies to ship my 2012 Kia Sorento cross country Sherpa Auto Transport stood out as exceptional–by previous customers. I subsequently chose Sherpa, and they exceeded my expectations! They tell you what to expect throughout the process, and proactively followup with you at every step. Their pricing was reasonable and I even got a promised rebate for providing certain documentation at the conclusion of the shipment.”

Factors that affect Gulf Breeze Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from Gulf Breeze, FL. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but the per-mile rate often decreases for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to Gulf Breeze. Enclosed trailers, while offering extra protection from Florida’s occasional heavy rains and potential hurricanes, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Location Accessibility: Gulf Breeze’s proximity to Pensacola and easy access via US-98 can help keep shipping costs down. However, if you’re shipping to or from more remote areas away from major routes, costs may increase.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks popular in Florida, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Seasonal Demand: Car shipping to Gulf Breeze may be pricier during peak tourist seasons or when snowbirds are moving. Summer months and January often see higher rates due to increased demand.
- Fuel Prices: Fluctuations in fuel costs can affect auto transport prices, especially for long-distance shipments to or from Gulf Breeze.
- Vehicle Condition: Inoperable vehicles cost more to ship as they require special equipment for loading and unloading, which is an important consideration for classic car owners in Gulf Breeze.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from Gulf Breeze more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of car shipping costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Gulf Breeze car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major interstates like I-10 or US-98. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates liability concerns for the auto transport company.
- Be flexible: Offering date flexibility for pickup and delivery can help you secure better options and potentially lower costs for your Gulf Breeze car shipping needs.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak shipping seasons in Gulf Breeze, such as spring break or summer holidays, when demand and prices may be higher.

How does Gulf Breeze Car Shipping Work?
Navigating the car shipping process in Gulf Breeze, FL, requires careful planning and consideration of local factors. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you ship your vehicle to or from this beautiful coastal city:
1. Get an Instant Quote: Start by obtaining a free quote from a reputable car shipping company like Sherpa Auto Transport. Provide details about your vehicle, desired pickup and delivery locations, and preferred shipping method.
2. Book Your Shipment: Once you’re satisfied with the quote, lock in your shipment. Consider Gulf Breeze’s humid subtropical climate when choosing between open or enclosed transport, especially during hurricane season (June to November).
3. Prepare Your Vehicle: Follow our comprehensive guide on how to ship a car to ensure your vehicle is ready for transport. Given Gulf Breeze’s proximity to salt water, consider a thorough wash to remove any salt residue that could potentially corrode your car during transit.
4. Choose Pickup Location: Gulf Breeze’s location on a peninsula might limit access for large carriers. Consider meeting at a more accessible location, perhaps near Highway 98 or in nearby Pensacola for easier pickup.
5. Track Your Shipment: While your car is in transit, stay informed about its progress. Most routes to/from Gulf Breeze will likely utilize I-10, one of Florida’s major east-west corridors.
6. Receive Your Vehicle: Upon delivery, inspect your car thoroughly. Check for any salt spray damage if shipping during stormy weather, and ensure all agreed-upon services were completed satisfactorily.
By following these steps and working with a reliable car shipping company, you can ensure a smooth auto transport experience to or from Gulf Breeze, FL. Remember to account for local weather conditions and geographical constraints when planning your car shipment in this picturesque coastal community.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“My fiancée is a wizard when it comes to doing her due diligence and finding the best companies and reading reviews. I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic. We got that place lined up. It was a few miles away from my house. They called me numerous times when they were on the way and got there. The car was dirty, but I expected it to be. It was raining and it was an open truck. But other than that, no damage to the vehicle. The brothers were incredibly friendly and professional people that if I had to use anybody again, I would recommend them and Sherpa.”
“The initial quote was more than reasonable given the short turnaround time that I needed. In my uncle’s shipping, Sherpa had to use their guaranteed thing. It’s $300 give or take once they issued the quote to the customer. I contacted them on a Thursday or Friday of the week before and they went through the weekend and they let me know that they would be closing down Saturday evening. My uncle was a little worried and I told him that the people have to have downtime and we’d hear from them by Sunday evening. Sure enough, around 7:00 in the evening, an email came across saying that they were still working on getting the driver. Having dealt with car transport before, they’re all on the same leaderboard. Once the car description is put in, everybody’s looking at it and they know exactly who’s been selected and it doesn’t pay to jump around. The pickup was in a rural part of Florida and I was concerned that it was off of a major highway. But that didn’t make a difference. Once they made their commitment that they would pick up the car around 4:00 on that Wednesday, they were there on point.”
“I purchased a vehicle that was located in Florida and I’m located in Connecticut. So, I needed to transport the vehicle. I went online and Googled transportation companies. For the most part, choosing Sherpa had to do with the reviews that I was seeing on Google. They were good. I dealt with three people and everybody was very professional. They gave me a price right up front and there weren’t any shenanigans. As it turned out, I was able to even get a $100 rebate on my original price because I asked them. So that was great, too. There were no changes in the price once it was set up. They put it on the board and within an hour or two, it was accepted. The final company that picked it up got in touch with me and it all went very smoothly.”
“We purchased a vehicle in Florida and needed it transferred to California. I called a couple of companies and Sherpa had the better price. They had some good reviews too. I spoke with their guy to set up the transport. I had to change dates because the paperwork didn’t go through and they changed it for me. It was an easy setup. From the day the vehicle was picked it up to drop-off, that was seven days. The driver was a really good guy. I had his number and the truck had LoJack on it so I could keep track of the vehicle. It was fun. The app would tell you if your car exceeds the maximum limit and I kept getting these notifications. You could see he was on the interstate highway and cruising along. He never exceeded the limit by that much.”
“If you’ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn’t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Gulf Breeze, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
