When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Estero Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Estero, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Type: The size and weight of your vehicle affect shipping costs. Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to transport than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Method: Open auto transport is the most common and cost-effective option for shipping cars to or from Estero. Enclosed transport, while offering extra protection, is about 50% more expensive and usually takes longer.
- Seasonal Factors: Estero’s warm climate attracts many seasonal residents, which can affect car shipping prices. Summer months and January often see higher demand and prices for auto transport services.
- Location Accessibility: Estero’s proximity to I-75 makes it relatively accessible for car carriers, potentially reducing costs. However, if you’re shipping to or from a less accessible area, prices may increase.
- Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates can lead to lower car shipping costs. Rush or guaranteed delivery services will increase the price of your auto transport.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Inoperable cars require special equipment for loading and unloading, increasing the cost of shipping.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from Estero, FL. For more detailed information on what affects car shipping prices, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Estero car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.

- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major interstates like I-75, which runs through Estero. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and lower your overall price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues. Car shipping companies aren’t responsible for items left in the vehicle.
- Be flexible: Offering flexibility in pickup and delivery dates and locations can help you secure better rates. Consider nearby areas like Fort Myers or Naples if it means a more competitive price.
- Leverage Sherpa’s expertise: Our experienced advisors understand the unique aspects of Estero, FL car shipping. We can help you navigate factors like seasonal traffic patterns or local events that might impact transport costs.

- Track your shipment: While your vehicle is in transit, stay informed about its progress. Most car shipping companies offer regular updates.
- Receive your vehicle: Upon delivery in Estero (or your destination if shipping from Estero), inspect your car again and pay any remaining balance.

Estero, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Estero?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Estero. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Estero?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Estero?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Estero?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If you are shipping to or from a port or your shipment includes ocean transit, your vehicle must be emptied of all items. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.
Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Estero
When planning car shipping to or from Estero, FL, it’s crucial to consider the unique seasonal factors that can impact your auto transport experience. Estero’s subtropical climate brings distinct challenges and opportunities throughout the year.
During the summer months (May to October), Estero experiences high temperatures and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. If you’re shipping a car during this period:
- Consider using a sunshade to protect your vehicle’s interior from intense heat.
- Avoid leaving heat-sensitive items in the car during transport.
- Be prepared for potential weather-related delays due to thunderstorms.
The winter months (November to April) in Estero are mild and dry, making it an ideal time for car transport. However, this is also the peak tourist season, which can affect auto shipping services:
- Book your car shipping well in advance to secure better rates and availability.
- Be aware that snowbird migration can increase demand for auto transport services.
- Consider scheduling your shipment just before or after peak season for potentially lower costs.
When choosing a car shipping company for Estero car shipping, look for providers experienced with Florida’s unique climate. They should be able to navigate both the rainy season and the influx of seasonal residents.
Lastly, keep in mind that nearby attractions like Florida Gulf Coast University and the Hertz Arena can cause periodic spikes in car transport demand. Planning around these events can help ensure a smooth and cost-effective experience when shipping a car to or from Estero, FL.

Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“My fiancée is a wizard when it comes to doing her due diligence and finding the best companies and reading reviews. I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic. We got that place lined up. It was a few miles away from my house. They called me numerous times when they were on the way and got there. The car was dirty, but I expected it to be. It was raining and it was an open truck. But other than that, no damage to the vehicle. The brothers were incredibly friendly and professional people that if I had to use anybody again, I would recommend them and Sherpa. I was very worried throughout the process because I have never purchased a vehicle that I have never seen before, or even driven or heard it idle. They got it to me and it was in good shape. And everything was good. I enjoyed it. Plus they were cool. They had a very exotic, classic car on the truck and they had to offload it to get my car off. They opened the doors and let me peek my head in and take a look at it, and I drooled a bit at how cool the car was. Sherpa`s quote was better than anything that I had received other than ones that were scams. I`ve never done this before. I just signed up online and I was hammered with emails and phone calls from a lot of people that were trying to, “Oh, I`ll beat this price. I`ll do this price.†And I was getting quotes that seemed too good to be true, and they were, because once I went and got my fiancée to do her magic and look these particular companies up, she was like, “Yeah, that`s gonna be a no. Each one of those has terrible reviews and they`re scams.†Because they quoted me 500 bucks, $600, that type of stuff. What Sherpa quoted me wasn`t gonna fluctuate. If it did, they would apply money towards it if need be. It was right on the money. The transport was part of my car purcahsing process that was the fastest, streamlined and very much worth the money that I paid for.”
“Our daughter was moving from Florida to California for a transfer with her job and she needed to ship a 2010 Toyota RAV4. She looked at a few transport companies online and contacted one company. They took a deposit and sent the contract. But we didn’t like the terms of their contract at all and they didn’t have a very good rating on the Better Business Bureau. Then, we found Sherpa and we went with them. We’re very happy with our experience from start to finish. Their name is very cool and certainly good marketing on their part because it’s easy to remember. The customer service rep we had answered very quickly and explained the whole process. He told us a little bit about how the industry works and a little bit about how we don’t pay a deposit until we see the contract. The contract was just attached to the quote so we could take a look at the whole thing and see what we were getting into. Then we called back and told them to go ahead and look for a driver for us. It was a very easy transaction and their people were very good to talk to. They didn’t pester us, they told us what we needed to know, and were very professional. The cost was slightly higher but we liked their betting process. We felt like we were probably going to get a better-quality driver with valid insurance so to us, it was worth a little bit more money. It was certainly something we could live with because we would then have an assurance that we were getting somebody who we really wanted to trust our car to. And the terms of the contract were quite reasonable, especially compared to the other one we looked at before. We were working under a pretty tight deadline around the holidays, so we were concerned that things might be delayed. But Sherpa found someone and about half an hour later, we were meeting with the driver to drop the car off. Sherpa had to pay a free-hand to get someone to do the transport but they didn’t pass the cost on to us, which was very wonderful. The driver was very reputable and he was taking a lot of care documenting the car`s condition before it got on the truck. Also, the route from Florida to California was the only run that he did, so that made us feel better. We met him again with our daughter on the other end and he was very professional as well. He delivered the car right on time and very close to our daughter`s apartment. Everything was perfect. We would use Sherpa again and we would recommend them.”
“If you`ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn`t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars. You will deal with NONE of that with Sherpa Transport. They guarantee the first price quote in writing that you accept. And there is not a single fee or hidden charge after that. I had such a bad experience with the dozens of calls and abusive quotes that I asked the Sherpa agent how this whole thing works. He as honest and explained it all to me. Then he explained they only with with insured vetted transporters. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me. He was an Angel! He was so kind and friendly. His truck was top notch and IMMACULATE! I knew the cars would be safe. We paid around $1300 each ($2600 total). Considering the insurance costs, gas, cost to maintain those trucks, and time, it was worth every penny. But the peace of mind was out of this world! I had a safe feeling with Sherpa. I spoke to several agents because my first agent was off the next day when I was due to sign. Every person I spoke to was highly respectful and helpful (night and day to the other companies I spoke to). Note that you have 24 hours to take the quote. You won`t have to worry, you are making the best decision. Great job Sherpa! And reward your agents! They are well trained and caring which is hard to find in this day and age”
“We purchased a vehicle in Florida and needed it transferred to California. I called a couple of companies and Sherpa had the better price. They had some good reviews too. I spoke with their guy to set up the transport. I had to change dates because the paperwork didn’t go through and they changed it for me. It was an easy setup. From the day the vehicle was picked it up to drop-off, that was seven days. The driver was a really good guy. I had his number and the truck had LoJack on it so I could keep track of the vehicle. It was fun. The app would tell you if your car exceeds the maximum limit and I kept getting these notifications. You could see he was on the interstate highway and cruising along. He never exceeded the limit by that much. The driver picked up three cars in Florida and they all got dropped off in California. We were the first drop-off. When he got to New Mexico, I thought we were gonna get the car in three days. But he stayed in New Mexico for two days. On the whole, he got the vehicle to us within the timeframe told to us, which was six or seven days. The delivery was done at night. The driver was busting his butt to get here for us. We live in a rural community in the mountains and the roads are a little curvy and narrow. I was a little worried for him. He called me as he had no way of telling how far he was out because it was not freeways. It was 9:30 and he wanted to know if that was okay. We went down to the gas station and met him there. He unloaded the vehicle and we looked at it. We gave him a good tip and he was super friendly. I was very worried because he was going down through a canyon that is narrow and curvy, and that was very difficult for larger vehicles. He was pulling a really long trailer. But he did it. I texted him the next morning and he said he made it.”
“Outstanding company! I recently had death in my family and had to get my uncle’s car from Florida to Maryland. The paperwork to change ownership of the car was slow, but Sherpa Auto Transport stayed in touch with me. They called once a week to ensure me that the price we had initially agreed to would still be honored. They were very compassionate about my situation. They said as soon as I told them the car was ready, they would find a driver. Each step of the way, Sherpa Auto Transport followed up with an email. As soon as I told them the paperwork was in order, I got a call and an email within 20 minutes telling me the driver was ready to pick the car up. LMK Logistics showed up 30 minutes later. The driver was very courtesy, and I could tell he had many years of experience with loading and securing vehicles on the truck. My sister got the car within 24 hours telling her that the driver was about 30 minutes away from her home. After the car was delivered, I received another email from Sherpa Auto Transport confirming the delivery of my vehicle and to tell me that I was entitled to a free car wash on them. I have stored the name and number of this company in my phone for future reference. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport to coordinate the move of any of your vehicles. You will not experience a better class of service. Thank you so much for easing my pain due to the death of my uncle. I will be using you and recommending you to others in the future.”

These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
