Factors that affect Englewood Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from Englewood, FL. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to Englewood. Enclosed transport, while pricier, offers extra protection from Florida’s intense sun and occasional tropical storms.
- Season: Auto transport prices to Englewood may fluctuate seasonally. Winter months often see increased demand due to snowbirds heading south, potentially raising prices.
- Route Popularity: Englewood’s location near I-75 can affect shipping costs. More frequent routes to popular Florida destinations may offer competitive pricing.
- Delivery Timeframe: Expedited shipping to Englewood will cost more than standard delivery options. Plan ahead to take advantage of more economical shipping windows.
- Vehicle Condition: Inoperable vehicles require special equipment for loading, increasing the cost of car transport to Englewood.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from Englewood, FL. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Englewood car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundled pickups along I-75 or nearby US-41.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is typically more affordable than enclosed options. While enclosed transport protects luxury or classic cars, open carriers are suitable for most vehicles and offer lower rates.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major routes like I-75 or US-41. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your overall car shipping price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates for your Englewood auto transport. Consider allowing a few days’ leeway on either end of your preferred timeline.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer or holidays when demand for car shipping services is highest. Planning your Englewood, FL auto transport during off-peak times may result in more competitive pricing.

Englewood Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When planning your move to or from Englewood, FL, it’s crucial to understand the local vehicle requirements and regulations. Florida doesn’t have a state vehicle inspection program, but you should ensure your car meets basic safety standards. For car registration, you’ll need to visit the Sarasota County Tax Collector’s office within 30 days of establishing residency. Remember to bring proof of insurance, your out-of-state title, and a valid ID.
If you’re using car shipping services to transport your vehicle to Englewood, consider removing your SunPass transponder to avoid accidental toll charges. For local travel, you may want to obtain a SunPass for convenient toll payments on Florida’s highways.
When settling in Englewood, set up utilities promptly. Florida Power & Light (FPL) provides electricity, while Englewood Water District manages water services. For internet, popular providers include Comcast and CenturyLink. Don’t forget to update your address with the USPS and register to vote at the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office.
If you’re moving away from Englewood, remember to:
- Cancel local memberships (e.g., gyms, clubs)
- Return library books and cancel your card
- Notify your children’s school of the move
- Schedule a final meter reading with utility companies
When using auto transport or car shipping services, consider Englewood’s climate. The area experiences hot, humid summers and mild winters. Inform your car shipping company about any vehicle modifications that might affect transport, such as lift kits or oversized tires.
Englewood’s proximity to major highways like I-75 and US-41 makes it convenient for car transport companies to access. However, be aware that during hurricane season (June to November), shipping a car to or from Englewood may require additional planning and flexibility.
Englewood, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Englewood?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Englewood. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Englewood?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Englewood?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Englewood?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“At two different times, I spoke to two people who were both very helpful and knowledgeable. Price-wise, Sherpa Auto Transport was the same as everyone. They were all within the same ballpark of each other. But I felt they were more comfortable after speaking to them. Also, I could see why they had the reviews because they were exactly like it was when talking to them. And everything was smooth. They offered a free car wash. Everything was wonderful. I submitted the thing through online, and they sent an email back with the quote. It was a day later, they called to go over a couple of things. I`m in South Florida and the car would go to Boston, and the tires in Florida were not the type of tires I need for winter up north. So, that would cause a delay because we had to wait for the tires to come in. She said, “No problem. I`ll make a note in the system so we can still hold on to the quote we gave you and you don`t lose the price. And as soon as you know when the tires will be in and when you can do this, just let us know.” Once I knew when the tires would be done, I called them back. She guided me on what window to take for pick-up, so it would be there when my daughter got there. She helped me with figuring what would be the best dates for everything. And while I was on the phone with her, she sent me an email which I had to click on and pay the deposit, and she stayed on the phone with me while the whole thing went through to make sure they got it. There were no glitches in their system or on my end. Within a day, she sent me the name of the company that would take the car, gave me all their contact information if I needed anything from them. The pick-up went very well. It was not the driver`s fault that it was pouring rain. I felt bad. Those things happen. In that type of business, it`s not like an airplane where people know what time they would arrive and depart. The driver would get stuck based on whoever is in front of him. He thought he would be there between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, and it wound up being more 2 o`clock in the afternoon. I knew he couldn`t get into my neighborhood. So, the company gave me the driver`s direct phone number so I could pre-arrange a pick-up where he could get the truck and be able to get the car. So, between the weather and the rain, it delayed him. The pick-up wound being later than expected. The drop-off, again, was not his fault, the car that was dropped off before us gave the wrong address and did not answer their phone. It was my brother-in-law that handled that and they agreed it would be too dark by the time the driver would be able to bring the car. So, they said they would do it first thing in the morning and they were there at 7:30 with the car.”
“I read the Better Business Bureau reports and Sherpa was at the top. I’m a senior, so I looked at a few senior sites and Sherpa was recommended by one of the sites that I looked at. I called them and they were pretty straightforward. They weren’t the lowest price but they had a promised guarantee stating that it would only be a certain price and they guaranteed $300 over. I have a Kia and I was having it transported from Southern Arizona to Sebring, Florida. What Sherpa does is they put the bid out and different transport companies then bid on that. I had a gentleman from Miami who was making the trip back and forth and he called me. I was under the impression I would get a 24 to 48-hour notice. He was very professional when he showed up and he delivered my car safely. But he only gave me half hour notice on my end before he wanted to get the car. The car was picked up on a Tuesday morning and it was delivered on Friday. I was still in Arizona. My daughter-in-law and son were having the car delivered. The gentleman texted me Thursday night and said, “Let them know that I’ll be there first thing in the morning.†It was already midnight in Florida so they didn’t get the message. In the end, it all worked out fine despite the transport guy not quite meeting the expectations that Sherpa said I would get from a carrier. The car was delivered exactly as they said it would be. It made it fine. I was promised upfront by Sherpa a free car wash but my car was clean, so I didn’t use the car wash. I was very happy.”
“My sister was living down from New York. She was gonna drive, but then we decided that it wasn’t in her best interest to drive. I had to get her car down to Florida. I tried one other place first and I called them up. They didn’t answer the phone and so I looked at some online reviews, and I saw some pretty good ones for Sherpa. I called them up. The guy was super nice. He quoted me $1,000. The first quote I got from the other place was $895. I told him that I got a quote lower than that. He said that that the other company would probably call me back after they pick up the car and say that they were having trouble or this or that, and it would be this much more. I went with Sherpa and gave him a $300 deposit. Then he went over everything. It was very clear that I would give the driver $700. I brought my sister down to Florida. We took the car over to my cousin`s. They picked up the car a few days later because time wasn’t critical. Then a week later, I got a call from the driver. He asked me where he could drop it off ‘cause he had a big semi. We met, picked up the car, paid him the 700, and everything was perfect. Incidentally, the guy at the other place that I called first was a real jerk. He called me a few days later and said that they couldn’t do the move for 895 and that it would be more like 1,495. I was pissed off. I told him that somebody else already did it for 1,000. Then he said the same thing that the Sherpa guy said, that the company would call back and tell they had trouble with the truck. Overall, it went great. I was very pleased.”
“I`m in Florida and I needed a SUV that was in South Carolina. I had an accident and I wasn’t gonna go back there to get the car so I needed it transported down. I checked online on the Consumer and Better Business Bureau and came up with a transport company then I went by with Consumer Reports. When I called Sherpa, it seemed like a good deal so I went with them. Sherpa`s customer service reps called and kept in contact with me. I was told that the SUV would be picked up on Friday and will be delivered between Monday and Wednesday. I got the vehicle on Monday morning and when it was delivered, the driver gave me a call. He said that they will be here within the hour and they were. He was courteous and the vehicle arrived in good condition. Also, the quote I was provided was fair. When we negotiated the price, that was the set price and there was no change. I was given a high quality of service and I was very happy. I would be a repeat customer.”
“Sherpa is very reliable and honest. They`ll take care of your car as their own. I like their fixed rate guarantee. I was afraid that once I commit to the other companies and once the driver came to pick up my car, they`d charge up additional fees and I wouldn`t be able to refuse because I got my flight already scheduled. During the pickup, the driver called me up and told me that his truck wouldn`t be able to go inside my apartment complex. We agreed to meet up somewhere very near that was also convenient on his part. I had some luggage inside the car and he didn`t charge me extra for that. He updated me every time during the transport. He even made sure that my bumper won`t be blown away because it was a little bit wiggly. He put a tape on it and made sure that everything would be fine. During the delivery, he texted me three hours before he arrived here. He told me that his truck wouldn`t be able to enter our neighborhood because the streets were a little bit narrow. Again, we agreed to meet up somewhere that was very convenient with his truck. It`s only five-minute walk from my house.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Englewood, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
