What our Alafaya customers say about Sherpa:
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car.”
“The pickup was in a rural part of Florida and I was concerned that it was off of a major highway. But that didn`t make a difference. Once they made their commitment that they would pick up the car around 4:00 on that Wednesday, they were there on point. We were able to put a few boxes in the car that I would have had to pay UPS or ship my uncle`s personal things.”
“I stumbled upon Sherpa reviews here, which made me more comfortable and confident to call, needing my car shipped from San Diego to Florida. Customer service was excellent with my first call, explained how transport works, they aren`t like the companies that have hundreds of random people calling, texting, and emailing, asked for a window date I needed my car picked up, and got a quote done.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Alafaya Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The distance between Alafaya, FL and the destination greatly affects car shipping costs. Longer distances typically result in higher prices, but the cost per mile often decreases for longer journeys.
- Transport Type: Open trailers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Alafaya. Enclosed transport, while offering extra protection, is about 50% more expensive and usually takes longer.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Season: Car shipping prices in Alafaya can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January tend to be more expensive due to higher demand, while spring and fall may offer better rates.
- Route Accessibility: Alafaya’s proximity to major highways like FL-408 and FL-417 can help keep costs down. However, shipping to or from more remote areas may increase prices.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower costs. Expedited shipping for urgent transport needs will increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles that can be driven onto the carrier are less expensive to ship than inoperable ones requiring special equipment.
- Weather Conditions: Alafaya’s subtropical climate, with hot summers and mild winters, generally doesn’t significantly impact shipping costs. However, during hurricane season (June to November), rates may fluctuate due to potential weather-related delays.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from Alafaya more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of car shipping costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your car shipment at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles from Alafaya, FL.
- Choose open transport: Open shipping provides the lowest rates and greatest flexibility for negotiating prices. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport is generally more cost-effective.
- Optimize pickup/dropoff locations: Consult with Sherpa advisors to find convenient locations near major interstates like I-4 or FL-408. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues. Car shipping companies aren’t responsible for items left in the vehicle.
- Be flexible with dates: The more flexible you are with pickup and delivery dates, the better options you’ll have for finding cost-effective transport. Consider a wider date range to increase your chances of securing a lower rate for car shipping to or from Alafaya, FL.
- Consider terminal-to-door or door-to-terminal: While Sherpa specializes in door-to-door auto transport, opting for terminal pickup or delivery in nearby Orlando can sometimes reduce costs for shipping a car to or from Alafaya.

Alafaya, Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Alafaya?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Alafaya. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Alafaya?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Alafaya?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Alafaya?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“My fiancée is a wizard when it comes to doing her due diligence and finding the best companies and reading reviews. I asked her to pull her magic and let me know what she thought, and Sherpa was in the top five transport companies and were actually the first ones to answer the phone or respond to my call. Joseph was the gentleman that I talked to. He was very professional and friendly. He made me feel very comfortable with using the company to broker the deal for me. Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic. We got that place lined up. It was a few miles away from my house. They called me numerous times when they were on the way and got there. The car was dirty, but I expected it to be. It was raining and it was an open truck. But other than that, no damage to the vehicle. The brothers were incredibly friendly and professional people that if I had to use anybody again, I would recommend them and Sherpa. I was very worried throughout the process because I have never purchased a vehicle that I have never seen before, or even driven or heard it idle. They got it to me and it was in good shape. And everything was good. I enjoyed it. Plus they were cool. They had a very exotic, classic car on the truck and they had to offload it to get my car off. They opened the doors and let me peek my head in and take a look at it, and I drooled a bit at how cool the car was. Sherpa`s quote was better than anything that I had received other than ones that were scams. I`ve never done this before. I just signed up online and I was hammered with emails and phone calls from a lot of people that were trying to, “Oh, I`ll beat this price. I`ll do this price.†And I was getting quotes that seemed too good to be true, and they were, because once I went and got my fiancée to do her magic and look these particular companies up, she was like, “Yeah, that`s gonna be a no. Each one of those has terrible reviews and they`re scams.†Because they quoted me 500 bucks, $600, that type of stuff. What Sherpa quoted me wasn`t gonna fluctuate. If it did, they would apply money towards it if need be. It was right on the money. The transport was part of my car purcahsing process that was the fastest, streamlined and very much worth the money that I paid for.”
“We purchased a vehicle in Florida and needed it transferred to California. I called a couple of companies and Sherpa had the better price. They had some good reviews too. I spoke with their guy to set up the transport. I had to change dates because the paperwork didn’t go through and they changed it for me. It was an easy setup. From the day the vehicle was picked it up to drop-off, that was seven days. The driver was a really good guy. I had his number and the truck had LoJack on it so I could keep track of the vehicle. It was fun. The app would tell you if your car exceeds the maximum limit and I kept getting these notifications. You could see he was on the interstate highway and cruising along. He never exceeded the limit by that much. The driver picked up three cars in Florida and they all got dropped off in California. We were the first drop-off. When he got to New Mexico, I thought we were gonna get the car in three days. But he stayed in New Mexico for two days. On the whole, he got the vehicle to us within the timeframe told to us, which was six or seven days. The delivery was done at night. The driver was busting his butt to get here for us. We live in a rural community in the mountains and the roads are a little curvy and narrow. I was a little worried for him. He called me as he had no way of telling how far he was out because it was not freeways. It was 9:30 and he wanted to know if that was okay. We went down to the gas station and met him there. He unloaded the vehicle and we looked at it. We gave him a good tip and he was super friendly. I was very worried because he was going down through a canyon that is narrow and curvy, and that was very difficult for larger vehicles. He was pulling a really long trailer. But he did it. I texted him the next morning and he said he made it.”
“I stumbled upon Sherpa reviews here, which made me more comfortable and confident to call, needing my car shipped from San Diego to Florida. Customer service was excellent with my first call, explained how transport works, they aren`t like the companies that have hundreds of random people calling, texting, and emailing, asked for a window date I needed my car picked up, and got a quote done. I felt great after the call. Communication was top notch from customer service to the driver. 2 weeks later, I got a call from the driver letting me know what day and time he`s arriving. The driver actually arrived a day or 2 earlier that was on a Sunday, which wasn`t a problem. I took pics of the outside and inside my car. The driver took pics as well, including pics of my car being loaded on the truck that were also sent to me through text message. The driver was very detailed, and told me he`ll have updates in the next couple days. That Wednesday morning, the driver sent me a text with a picture of his truck that had other cars on it, and said my car will be delivered early in the morning Thursday! I was impressed how fast shipping was! That Thursday, a family was contacted by the driver for delivery. The delivery was very smooth, recieved a pic of my car in a nearby parking lot due to his truck being too big for residential areas that was less than 1 mile away. My family member retrieved my car after doing an inspection with the driver. No scratches or damages whatsoever! Received the bill of lading afterwards. It`s nice having your car at its final destination before I fly out! I`m very impressed with this company! I highly recommend Sherpa!”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”
“When researching companies to ship my 2012 Kia Sorento cross country Sherpa Auto Transport stood out as exceptional–by previous customers. I subsequently chose Sherpa, and they exceeded my expectations! They tell you what to expect throughout the process, and proactively followup with you at every step. Their pricing was reasonable and I even got a promised rebate for providing certain documentation at the conclusion of the shipment. The shipment went perfectly from the advanced price quote, to auto pick up, to the final delivery. Despite a snowstorm on the receiving end, my auto was delivered within 10 minutes of the agreed on meeting time– and in perfect condition. I now know first-hand why they received the top customer evaluations–they deliver on their promises & commitments! Highly Recommend for your auto transport needs!!!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Alafaya, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
