What our Louisville customers say about Sherpa:
“We contracted with Sherpa to arrange transport of an automobile we purchased from our daughter and son-in-law in Connecticut to our home near Boulder, Colorado. Sherpa notified us that it had found a transporter, that the price would be about $200 higher than its estimate, and that Sherpa would cover the difference–so we paid exactly what Sherpa had promised.”
“Sincerely our experience with Sherpa was SPOT ON!! From my initial conversation with Dillon who put things in motion to our communication with our driver Samuel Akoto who handled the pick up and delivery of my son’s auto from Colorado to Virginia our experience came without glitches from beginning to end!!”
“I recently used Sherpa for car transport to send a vehicle to my daughter in Colorado. We decided on Sherpa because a neighbor had a positive experience with them. I compared two other companies before making my decision. The setup process with Sherpa was straightforward. I completed everything online, and they contacted me the next day to confirm the order.”

Factors that affect Louisville Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: Louisville, CO’s central location affects shipping costs. Transporting to/from nearby cities like Denver is typically cheaper than cross-country routes.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to Louisville. Enclosed transport, while pricier, offers extra protection from Colorado’s varied weather conditions.
- Vehicle Size: Larger vehicles like SUVs or trucks, common in Colorado’s mountainous terrain, may cost more to ship than compact cars due to their size and weight.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Louisville’s proximity to major highways like US-36 and I-25 can make it more accessible, potentially reducing costs compared to more remote areas in Colorado.
- Seasonal Factors: Winter weather in Louisville can affect car shipping prices. Icy conditions on routes to and from the city may increase costs during colder months.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower car shipping costs to Louisville. Rush services are available but typically more expensive.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of shipping to or from Louisville.
Understanding these factors can help you estimate your car shipping costs to or from Louisville, CO. For a more detailed breakdown of pricing factors, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Louisville car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling vehicles from the same area.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open car shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost-saving opportunities.
- Select strategic locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find pickup and dropoff points near major interstates like I-25 or US-36. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove all personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of pickup and delivery dates to increase your chances of finding the most cost-effective auto transport options. Consider adjusting your schedule to align with carriers’ existing routes for potential savings.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, avoid peak moving seasons like summer when demand for car shipping services in Louisville, CO is highest. Off-peak periods may offer more competitive rates.

Louisville, Colorado Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Louisville?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Louisville. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Louisville?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Louisville?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Louisville?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. When planning car shipping to or from Louisville, CO, it’s crucial to consider the area’s seasonal weather patterns. Louisville experiences a semi-arid climate with distinct seasons, each presenting unique challenges for auto transport.
In winter, snowfall can be significant, affecting car shipping services. If you’re scheduling a pickup or delivery during this time:
- Remove snow tires or chains before transport, as carriers can’t accommodate these.

Reviews from our Colorado Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Colorado customers:
“My experience with Sherpa was great. Really great reservation system and fantastic customer support and communication along the way. Sherpa and all of its competitors are essentially brokers. They’re going to use their network to find a third party to ship your vehicle. So you should know that in advance. It’s hard to blame any broker for poor delivery service…but you should trust that they would make thing right should anything go wrong. Fortunately, I didn’t have to worry about any of that. My third party hauler was great. They communicated wonderfully and got my vehicle from Colorado to Chicago in less than 48 hours from pickup. I had to push back my vehicle pick up due to the dealership and both Sherpa and the third party hauler were great to work with. Go with Sherpa. It was the best price, the best online experience and had amazing customer support and communication.”
“Upfront guaranteed delivery. Great communication. Guaranteed pickup in 4 day pickup window. Here is why you should go with Sherpa. My vehicle was picked up on a Tuesday in North Carolina and delivered at my driveway on Thursday to Colorado. 1700 miles in two days, no issues with the vehicle at all. (High Line Transport) was the driver. He kept great communication from pickup to dropoff. Sherpa made me feel comfortable explaining the process in detail, I why I should go with them instead of the other companies. I am glad I listened. Saved a lot of trouble vetting other companies.”
“The Sherpa experience went very well and noticeably better than our experience with other transporters. The Sherpa scheduling staff were response and friendly, confirming at important junctures where things were. Their contract carrier was excellent both dealing with the pickup (working with my mother-in-law) and drop-off (working with me). He was careful, polite, and capable. The car arrived on schedule and more importantly, undamaged. The driver kept us informed on his progress and estimated time of arrival and arrived within an hour of the arrival time.”
“Setting up the transport with Sherpa was super easy. The only thing was going online. You just put in the information, you can set it up through that, but it made me call anyways, which is fine. It just made it sound like it was gonna be an easy online process. Honestly, calling was probably easier and better because the lady I talked to was great, super helpful, and gave me all the information I needed. The transport from Colorado to North Carolina took about four days. It was a lot faster than I thought it was gonna be. I got a call that they were gonna be able to drop the vehicle off in the third day. The guy had some issues with his truck. So, he just called me and asked if we could do it the next day. It was still a lot faster than I thought it would take. The communication was great. I got updates frequently from them. The driver spoke a little bit of English. So, there was a guy that was communicating for us and that was great because he gave me an update every so often. I heard from him at least twice a day on where they were at. So, I knew when I could expect him to be there. It was a really good experience. As far as the price goes, it was fair.”
“Sherpa was absolutely phenomenal. I was doing the auto transport for my sister-in-law who was moving from Colorado to Pennsylvania. She’s wasn’t in the best frame of mind, so we did all of the work to get Sherpa to do this. We made the phone call in November and the car was being picked up in December. Sherpa managed to find somebody who was going to pick up the car, and they were all set up and ready to get there in December. They were booked, but that night, my sister-in-law called and said that she was getting overwhelmed and we needed to cancel. So, we cancelled, paid the cancellation fee, and it was no big deal. The following day, my sister-in-law changed her mind and we re-upped the contract. However, there was a computer glitch in the system and it didn’t back the previous company out of the contract with us, so when we re-upped, we then had two active contracts. Two companies were gonna show up at different days to try to take our car. Sherpa had no idea because the company was the one who needed to know that they were no longer supposed to be coming, and they somehow were never notified. The company showed up and got the car, but it was on a totally different day than we were told they would be coming because it was the original date. Sherpa did all of the leg work. They contacted the people and met with the driver to make sure it was legit. They also refunded the cancellation fee because technically, we got the first contract. They called us every step of the way. They went above and beyond even though the mistake was caused by us cancelling.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Louisville, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Colorado. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
