What our West Covina customers say about Sherpa:
“The auto transportation with Sherpa was a little expensive, but aside from that, the service they provided was great. They arrived sooner than expected. They were willing to deliver without anybody even being present at home, and based off of trust as far as the final payment. My phone contact was great as well with updates. It was two vehicles that I transported to West Covina, so it was a little scary, but things definitely worked out.”
“Sherpa is a good mover. Their customer service is pretty good too. They follow up and when I have a question, they answer right away. I like the service and especially the driver. He knew that I relocated from California to Wisconsin, which was totally different. When he delivered the car, he said, “Take very good care of yourself here.” That was very thoughtful.”
“I stumbled upon Sherpa reviews here, which made me more comfortable and confident to call, needing my car shipped from San Diego to Florida. Customer service was excellent with my first call, explained how transport works. Communication was top notch from customer service to the driver. The driver sent me a text with a picture of his truck that had other cars on it, and said my car will be delivered early in the morning Thursday! I was impressed how fast shipping was from California!”

Factors that affect West Covina Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to West Covina, CA significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and affordable option for car shipping to or from West Covina. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from weather and road debris, which can be beneficial during California’s occasional rainy seasons.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Route Accessibility: West Covina’s proximity to major highways like I-10 and I-605 can help reduce costs. However, if your pickup or delivery location is in a less accessible area, it may increase the price.
- Seasonal Demand: Auto transport prices in West Covina can fluctuate based on the time of year. Summer months and January often see higher demand and prices due to increased relocations.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship as they can be easily loaded. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the cost.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower prices. Expedited shipping to or from West Covina will increase the cost.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from West Covina more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of car shipping costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. Reviews from our California Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied California customers:
“I purchased a ’99 BMW and it was coming from California. I used Sherpa as the reviews that I saw were much better than the others. I had a very good interaction with customer service. They introduced themselves and were very thorough as far as explaining the process step by step. They answered any questions that I had. The rep was very insightful and knowledgeable as far as expectation when it comes to timeframes, which was very nice. He was a very good representative. The pricing was very comparable to other providers. There was only a $20 or $30 difference from the other companies. Even though they were a little bit more, I didn’t mind. I liked the Price Lock Promise. The delivery actually worked out very well and the car got here super quickly over the weekend. They picked it up on Friday and I got it on Monday. The driver was very nice and let me know when he was 30 minutes away. He brought the car to my house. He backed it out for me and gave me my paperwork. I did an open transport and it was uncovered. The car just looked like it had been driven in the wind but it was exactly how it was when it was picked up. I would have liked to have done the closed transport but it’s understandable that it’s a little bit more expensive. But for what I was getting, the price was spot on. Sherpa is worth it.”
“Sherpa’s rep was very helpful and he explained everything very well. The quote, however, was weird. He said it was 2,250 then he was gonna take off $100, which I don’t think was taken off. But that’s okay. I’ve heard from other people who’ve used different services that Google quoted a lot more. It’s worth it to have my car here. Also, I was under the impression it would be door-to-door service but it wasn’t. The driver texted me in Los Angeles and said that he couldn’t make it to my neighborhood and that I would have to meet him in Montebello, California. That made me really anxious because I would have to drive a couple of different freeways that I’m not familiar with. To get home, he called an Uber for me and it was right there so it was easy. I was home in record time so it was okay. He was very nice. I found out later from a neighbor that there is a weight limit even on the main street and that was a really big rig so I understand. The day my car arrived, it was really hot that day. The tachometer was jumping all over the place. The car made a weird noise when I would break so the next day, I took it to the Volkswagen dealership and they went over it with a fine tooth comb and they said it was fine. It’s It was just that first time getting off the truck and it was because it was attached to a truck for so long. Other than that, there were no dings and no dents. I’m very happy. I love my car.”
“I needed two vehicles shipped across the country and I read some reviews from people. I went through and looked at a few different companies, and Sherpa Auto had the best customer satisfaction that I saw. That made me feel a little more comfortable. They were all good too. I didn’t have any issues with anybody. They delivered the cars on time and they were both fine. We had one little hiccup at the end though. The cars were supposed to be delivered to a residence, but because of the way the roads were, they couldn’t deliver to that residence. At the last minute, the cars were received by a family member because we weren’t there yet. I felt bad for my family member because they had to drive 15 minutes away to go get the cars and make arrangements. They were inconvenienced but that couldn’t have been prevented. Once we moved here, even I realized why Sherpa Auto had changed the plan. Other than that, my experience with them was good. They said they were gonna deliver them on a certain day and the driver was great. He kept us updated. He told us when he was gonna have the car there and the time frame, and he was accurate.”
“My daughter moved to North Carolina and I looked at dozens of different transport companies before choosing Sherpa Auto Transport. We went through various Yelp and other rating web services, and Consumer Reports rated Sherpa as the best choice. The customer service rep at Sherpa was great, very informative, and had a great demeanor. The initial quote was higher than everybody else, but I wasn’t willing to take a chance with a company that wasn’t rated well. The vehicle was shipped from my house in California to where my daughter is in North Carolina and they did fine. They showed up when they said they were going to. However, because of the flooding in North Carolina, the driver had to talk her through how he was gonna get there. My daughter didn’t have any transportation to get to where the car was potentially going to be delivered, but the driver finally got it within a mile off where she was living. The cost was good and the drivers on both ends did a good job. My only gripe at the whole thing is when they loaded the vehicle on to the long distance transport, it wasn’t taking off. Something happened to the back of the car after it left my house and before it got to North Carolina because there was a dime-sized ding in the back bumper. My daughter said she was gonna either call Sherpa or the transport company to find out what she could get done about it. Overall, it was a good experience. They handled the transport well especially considering the fact that it was an unknown situation in North Carolina when we were trying to ship the car. Sherpa did a good job.”
“Sherpa Auto was the third company to book my vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Camry, for shipping from Georgia to California. The first company and second company failed to do their jobs, I was calling them more than they were calling me, and I almost gave up shipping my car and was going to resort to putting it in storage until I finished with school. Being that I was on military orders and I had to report to school by a certain time. The first company set a date for pickup and they never followed through. That date came and went. The second Company told me what I wanted to hear and took advantage of the situation by their knowledge of knowing what happened with my first experience. But I called Sherpa on Thursday and they got my vehicle booked and shipped by Saturday morning. 2 days!!! Not to mention my car was delivered within 4 days… ACROSS THE COUNTRY! Their customer service is awesome and they understand the importance of moving from one place to the next and owning two vehicles that can’t be driven at the same time. If you are booked with any other company besides Sherpa, cancel the order and call them now. Yes, the shipping price is a little costly than other companies, but if you want guaranteed service without the headaches, pay the extra money. Thank you Sherpa Auto for your awesome service. Your efforts and reliability are greatly appreciated.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in West Covina, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of California. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
