What our Oklahoma customers say about Sherpa:

Google
★★★★★

"We were very happy with our experience, the car was delivered earlier than we expected, with no damage. We ended up paying a bit more than was expected $1200 to ship a car from San Diego to Oklahoma, But we had no surprise charges at the end when the driver dropped the car off."

Consumer Affairs
★★★★★

"Sherpa rep was very patience and honest when answering questions and did not rush me to make a decision. The carrier reached out the same day and pick up vehicle less than 24 hrs after I contacted Sherpa. Carrier gave delivery date of 2-4 days from Oklahoma to the Washington DC area. Received vehicles in 3 days (unbelievable because the weather was so severe on the East Coast)."

Factors that affect Oklahoma Car Shipping Prices

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

  • Book early: Schedule your shipment at least two weeks in advance. This gives carriers time to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles from the same area.
  • Choose open transport: Open shipping offers the lowest rates and greatest flexibility for negotiating prices. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport is generally more cost-effective.
  • Consider location: Work with Sherpa advisors to find pickup and dropoff points near major interstates like I-35, I-40, or I-44. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your rate.
  • Empty your vehicle: Remove all personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during transport.
  • Be flexible: Offering a range of acceptable pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates. Additionally, being open to various nearby locations for pickup and dropoff can lead to cost savings.
  • Leverage Sherpa's expertise: Our experienced advisors understand Oklahoma's unique geography and transport routes. They can help you navigate options like avoiding busy urban areas in Oklahoma City or Tulsa, or finding optimal pickup points in smaller towns along major highways.

How does Oklahoma Car Shipping Work?

Navigating the car shipping process to or from Oklahoma doesn't have to be complicated. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth experience:

  • Get an instant quote: Start by obtaining a car shipping quote from a trusted provider like Sherpa Auto Transport. You'll need to provide details about your vehicle, desired locations, and preferred shipping method.
  • Book your shipment: Once you're satisfied with the quote, lock in your shipment. Sherpa offers flexible pickup and delivery windows to accommodate your schedule.
  • Prepare your vehicle: Before the pickup date, wash your car, inspect for existing damage, remove personal items, and perform routine maintenance. For Oklahoma shipments, consider the state's weather patterns. During tornado season (spring and early summer), ensure all loose parts are secured or removed.
  • Meet the carrier: Sherpa provides door-to-door transport. You'll meet the carrier to hand over the keys and conduct an inspection. In Oklahoma, popular pickup locations often include major cities like Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
  • Track your shipment: While your vehicle is in transit, Sherpa keeps you updated on its status. Oklahoma's central location and extensive highway system, including I-35, I-40, and I-44, facilitate efficient transport across the state.
  • Receive your vehicle: Upon arrival, you'll perform another inspection and sign the Bill of Lading. Then, pay the remaining balance to complete the service.

When shipping to or from Oklahoma, keep in mind the state's unique characteristics:

  • Climate considerations: Oklahoma experiences extreme weather, from scorching summers to icy winters. During summer, enclosed transport might be preferable to protect your vehicle from intense heat and potential hail damage.
  • Rural areas: While Oklahoma has bustling cities, many areas are rural. If you're shipping to a remote location, be prepared for potential adjustments to pickup or delivery points.
  • Seasonal factors: The state's agricultural industry can impact transport during harvest seasons, potentially affecting routes and timing. Plan accordingly, especially if shipping during peak periods.

By following these steps and considering Oklahoma's unique aspects, you can ensure a smooth car shipping experience. Remember, Sherpa Auto Transport is here to guide you through every step of the process, making your Oklahoma auto transport as seamless as possible.

A Local Guide to Vehicle Transportion in Oklahoma

Moving to or from Oklahoma? Here's what you need to know about vehicle requirements and settling in:

Vehicle Requirements:

  • Toll Readers: Oklahoma uses the PikePass system for tolls. If you're moving away, remove your PikePass to avoid unwanted charges. New residents should consider getting one for easier travel on Oklahoma's turnpikes.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Oklahoma doesn't require annual safety inspections, but emissions testing is mandatory in Tulsa County for vehicles newer than 1975.
  • Registration: New residents must register their vehicle within 30 days. Visit your local tag agency with your title, proof of insurance, and ID. You'll need to pay registration fees and ad valorem tax.
  • Parking: Most cities don't require residential parking permits, but check with your local municipality for specific rules.

Moving Essentials:

  • Utilities: Major providers include OG&E for electricity and various municipal water services. For internet, AT&T, Cox, and Suddenlink are popular options.
  • Voter Registration: Update your registration at the Oklahoma State Election Board website or your county election board office.
  • Schools: Enroll children at your local school district office. Bring proof of residency, immunization records, and previous school transcripts.
  • Library Cards: Visit your local library with ID and proof of residency to get a card.
  • Moving Away? Don't forget to cancel gym memberships, forward mail via USPS, and notify important contacts of your address change.

Oklahoma Specifics:

  • Weather: Prepare for extreme weather. Oklahoma experiences hot summers, cold winters, and is prone to tornadoes. Ensure your vehicle is equipped for these conditions.
  • Major Highways: Familiarize yourself with I-35, I-40, and I-44, which are crucial for travel across the state.
  • Local Flavor: Embrace Oklahoma's rich Native American heritage, cowboy culture, and friendly Midwestern hospitality. Don't miss out on trying local specialties like chicken fried steak and fried okra!

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Oklahoma?

Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.

At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address.
