For Jason, attending UCW for the first time was a long-awaited opportunity. “I never had the chance to go to UCW in the past, but it’s always been at the top of my list to be part of a gathering of industry leaders,” he shared.

The event highlighted rapid digital transformation in the remarketing world.  More businesses have embraced online sales and digital marketplaces. Takeaways from Used Car Week 2024

Takeaways from Used Car Week 2024

UCW 2024 revealed three major takeaways shaping the future of automotive remarketing:

Post-Pandemic Recovery

So many years later, the industry is still recovering from the impacts of COVID-19, with low vehicle lease pipelines. Many consumers are buying out their leases, affecting the availability of used vehicles. As OEMs push new lease incentives in 2025, the secondary used car market is expected to expand.

The industry is still navigating recovery from the pandemic. “Vehicle lease pipelines remain low, and customers continue to buy out their leases,” Jason explained.

Integration with Digital Marketplaces

Transportation providers must adapt to the digital age by offering real-time tracking, faster turnaround times, and greater transparency. A dedicated online portal for tracking vehicle transportation has become a necessity.

“Real-time tracking, faster turnaround, and transparency in vehicle delivery are now essential,” said Jason.

Expansion of the Used EV Market

The growing demand for electric vehicles calls for transportation providers to face unique challenges. These include managing EV-specific equipment and ensuring charging infrastructure during transit. Companies that adapt to these requirements will lead in this emerging segment.

“The used EV market requires specialized equipment and charging infrastructure during transit,” Jason pointed out.

Vehicle Remarketing

The vehicle remarketing industry continues to evolve, shaped by economic conditions, shifts in consumer behavior, and rapid technological innovation. This dynamic sector connected vehicle owners, dealerships, and fleet managers. This was a way to ensure that pre-owned cars find their way to buyers efficiently and profitably.

At Used Car Week (UCW) 2024, Sherpa Auto Transport and SAKAEM Logistics showcased how our customized transportation solutions help used car dealerships and fleet managers navigate vehicle acquisition and logistics complexities.

Our services are designed to address the unique challenges businesses face in today’s remarketing landscape. They include sourcing fleets of pre-owned vehicles to manage the specialized transport of electric vehicles (EVs). As partners with us, dealerships can focus on growing their businesses while we handle the logistics with precision and care.

Industry Trends

Several key trends are shaping the vehicle remarketing industry, underscoring the need for innovative solutions:

1. Rising Demand for Affordable Used Cars

The cost of new vehicles is climbing due to inflation and supply chain disruptions. Now, more consumers prefer to purchase cars from the pre-owned market as they are more affordable options. This change in trend has pressurized dealerships to maintain a steady supply of quality used cars.

2. Digital Transformation

The shift toward digital platforms and online marketplaces is changing how businesses buy and sell vehicles. Data-driven tools play a central role in making informed purchasing decisions, optimizing pricing strategies, and smoothening the inventory management process.

3. Expansion of the Used EV Market

As electric vehicles gain popularity, their presence in the pre-owned market grows. However, transporting EVs leads to different challenges, These include the need for specialized handling of equipment and infrastructure during transit. Companies like Sherpa and SAKAEM are adapting their operations to meet these changing needs. Smooth delivery and customer satisfaction is our top priority.

At Sherpa Auto Transport and SAKAEM Logistics, we strive to stay ahead of these trends by offering innovative services that empower our clients to thrive in a competitive market.  We deliver solutions that help dealerships and fleet managers remain efficient.
